I’ve been telling folk lately McTominay is our most important player at the moment. Hopefully his injury isn’t to serious. If we can get a DM in I’d allow Matic leave. Even somebody like Emre Can on loan for the rest of the season would provide good backup to McTominay.
Going forward I’d be looking to bring in players like Saul Niguez, Sandro Tonali and John McGinn in central midfield

Roygbiv – what do you think of Pogba coming into yesterday’s team in place of Pereira? Do we look a good proposition on paper with him in that team with big Scott and an improving Fred behind him?

S.Tonali and N.Zaniolo are the next generation of world class superstars-just dont know if they would fancy a move to United.

Happy, when Pogba’s back Pereira looks the likeliest to drop to the bench at the moment. The ideal scenario would have been to have sold Pogba last summer and brought in 2 quality midfielders instead but if Pogba suddenly decides to man up and shoulder some responsibility he’ll strengthen us immensely. Don’t see it happening, though, and I think he’ll either leave in January or conveniently be injured again.

Pogba won’t leave this Jan, impossible to bring in replacements
Next summer however…. I’d be very surprised if he didn’t leave for either Juventus or Real Madrid

redblood, I think that depends on whether Edward Woodward’s crack team of football “experts” can come up with another cringy slogan like #Pogback when Zaha is concerned….

Every time I think Haaland would be a good signing I remember that his agent is Mino Raiola so we’d be best advised to stay away from this kid.

That’s a worry, Raiola seems to view Man Utd as a stepping stone to Barca or Madrid so if that’s the case I’d avoid. We want players who will buy into the club and want to be here for the long-term

Maybe the only way to deal with Raiola is to put release clauses in his clients contracts. In signing someone like Haaland put a £400m release fee in and accept that he’s either sold for £400m, signs a new deal or leaves for free after 6 years. Raiola will then know exactly what is needed for his client to leave. None of this Pogba rubbish where Madrid are trying to mug us off with 50p and players they don’t want.

@roygbiv, while I do want the most exciting talents at United, I’d be happy to boycott Raiola completely. I know that would be the case if SAF was still here. Hundreds of other talented youngsters out there, we just need to take the finger out and improve our scoring/recruitment system

I don’t think we’d be losing that much if Chong pissed off to Juve.

Anybody seen enough of Memphis Depay? Would it be worthwhile trying to re-sign him as we have first option?

I think it suits Depay to a big fish in a smaller pond (in terms of attention). The limelight and pressure that comes with playing for United seemed to bring the worst in him. He’s definitely playing better but I doubt he’s grown up that much and we really don’t need another flashy instagram poser at United.

Not sure that Memphis is a player that we really need. Pretty sure his best position is on the left wing or maybe upfront. We already have Martial, Rashford, Greenwood and James that can play in one or both of those positions. Don’t think Memphis would be an upgrade tbh.

If Chong is off to Juve then it’s about money and only money. Regarding Depay, i wouldn’t have him back even on a free. Terrible attitude that will only cause shit long term. The one thing i definitely agree with when it comes to Ole’s approach is getting players in with the proper attitude and ego. I think the two forward players we are going to go hard after are Sancho and Maddison. No doubt they will improve us but don’t think they are worth the money personally.

Nixer-I agree on all 3 points, stay well clear of Depay even on a free, and Sancho & Maddison are not worth £150m & £100m,respecively,not yet anyway. Both very young,English, extremely talented, and would improve us immensely, but I have my reservations and doubts about their price.Same goes for Longstaff & D.Rice.

id ignore the prices, no one is worth what they get bought for, they are now proven over more than one season, one in the PL and the type of exciting young stars (british or not) that is needed…and you can afford it…..no point messing around (again)
