It seems we’ve almost done the deal to get Hegazi’s mate Ali Gabr on loan initially. I’m surprised that Pulis didn’t go for him as he’s a 6′ 4″ centre back! I think he plays alongside Hegazi for Egypt so let’s hope he’s as good. With the injuries to Gibbs, and Evans we could be a bit light at the back.

The win against Liverpool, on TV in front of a global audience, is such good timing, because anyone dithering over weather to join a bad team or not will have seen a spark of hope.

Now Krychowiak has played in front of the Kop and won and Gabr will have been watching and both Rondon and Chadli will be wishing they’d played.

All good. Now let’s put a beating on Citeh 👍😀

Providing Gibbs is not to badly injured I would not look at replacing Evans, just bring Dawson into centre back with Hegazi and play Nyom and Gibbs as full backs with McCauley as cover. Sell Evans for £25Million and use the money to either buy a striker (Ings/Austin?) or, if AP thinks JRod will get the goals to keep us up, a midfield playmaker (Cairney?).

At the moment we only have four fit defenders in Dawson, Nyom, Hegazi and McA with Brunt as a temporary LB. Both Evans and Gibbs have hamstring problems and McA is no spring chicken so Gabr is needed. He’ll be on loan so there should still be cash to get another player.
