Fergie said the same thing about jones you massive prick!
December 18, 2018 at 9:46 pm #1709015😂😂 Happy, by the time Fergie was spouting that sort of nonsense about Jones he had already thought it a ‘great’ idea to replace Ronaldo with Valencia and Tevez with Michael Owen whilst throwing absolute fucking spanners like Obertan and Bebe into the mix. Do you not detect any sort of a dogshite similarity here?!.
Either way, just because he said it doesn’t mean you had to be that gullible to believe it. Millions of us around the world who actually watched him for ourselves and then made our own judgement took those comments for exactly what they were, ie complete and utter bullshit!.December 18, 2018 at 11:54 pm #1709031Happy birthday mufc.
Let’s see if anyone else can do better with this shower of shite.
December 18, 2018 at 11:56 pm #1709032Hahaha Blacky,do you think he got it now? I doubt it.
Watch out for his uncle cavalry though, its been awfully quiet on the western front lately.December 19, 2018 at 6:47 am #1709037The club announced Solskjaer as the interim manager on the website last night but removed the article shortly after posting it.
December 19, 2018 at 8:27 am #1709068If it is Solskaer I think he might be offered the Director of Football role in the summer.
Can’t see him leaving for a 6 month contract with no assurance over a job at the end of it.
December 19, 2018 at 8:43 am #1709075Imagine thinking Solsjaer would do a better job against PSG than Jose! Ha ha.
2 wins in 18 as a Premier League manager. Looking forward to seeing his tactical nouse pitted against Europe’s finest. Perhaps he can get the miserable french wankers to start playing football, stop Jones scoring own goals, get fred into the team and make Bailly string more than 2 games of football together.
What a weird time to sack Jose. Making his contract extension all the more stupid. He signed 11 players and sold 4 in his time in charge vs the absolute player roundabouts over at City and liverpool. Unless something drastically changes at the club the next manager will be destined to fail as well.December 19, 2018 at 9:11 am #1709087Now that Ole is interim manager, we will now all be itching to know who will be the permanent manager. Assuming that Ole doesn’t get it.
December 19, 2018 at 9:26 am #1709091I expect Solskjaer would have to be off the charts successful to land the job full-time. Top 4 and latter stages of CL, maybe fa Cup win as well. Which given the current situation is an unlikely outcome.
I think more likely that he’ll return to Molde in May with hopefully his reputation enhanced (top 4 maybe, playing decent football).
The absolute key here is that the footballing structure of the club is reviewed and changed to be in line, if not ahead of modern practice. We should be the industry leader that everyone looks to, like we are on the commercial side.December 19, 2018 at 9:30 am #1709094Imagine next summer Wenger came in, won a few league titles and a CL, then called Jose a specialist in failure.
December 19, 2018 at 9:58 am #1709112Yep, it’ll be interesting to see what Ole gets out of this group of players. Of course, he’ll have the advantage of the wonderfully charismatic and tactically astute Micky Phelan supporting him. Good luck to you Ole.
December 19, 2018 at 9:59 am #1709113Of course the way contract pay outs are managed these days, we are unlikely to get JMs side of the story for some time, save for odd nuggets from sources here and there. While his departure was both inevitable and necessary, it doesnt mask some horrible truths that still pertain:
– Woodward has completely overstepped the boundaries of CEO by purporting to be head Coach/Chief scout in “identifying” what players should be bought, irrespective of what thr manager thinks
– Woodwards management of player contracts including the retention of crocks and serial underperformers, has spannef the last 10 years and 4 different managers
– Woodwards failure to introduce a cohesive technical strategy and structure on the footballing side has resulted in significant compensation pay outs to 3 managrrs, huge salaries and fees paid out on players who have not got either the quality or character to play for this club, and out regression from top 4 certainties to top 6 wanbabesDecember 19, 2018 at 9:59 am #1709114mufc – no mate.
December 19, 2018 at 10:03 am #1709116@happyhurling – Its not easy for aspiring young managers when their first jobs are with struggling clubs. How would Jose have done managing a relegation threatened small club? He would not have been able to buy top players would he. He’d have to use his tactical nous and man management skills to get the best out of poor-average players. And we know he hasn’t had much success doing that here. But I guess his park the bus and hoof it up to Fellaini tactic would suit relegation strugglers to a tee.
Here you are knocking Ole but if he were appointed permanent manager you’d flip in a heartbeat to sing his praises. A key reason Ole was able to make such an impact from the bench was because while on the bench he studied the other teams moves and weaknesses.
You knock other teams for having a high turnover of players but that is exactly what is required. You sign somebody and if he doesn’t look like making it you get rid and replace asap. Your way is the job-for-life way where players are given chance after chance and end up spending the almost a decade at the club till you lose “patience” and see the light.
December 19, 2018 at 10:03 am #1709118Content with Ole coming in but much happier with the fact that Mike Phelan is back in the club – probably the biggest mistake Moyes made was replacing the backroom staff Fergie had set up and having Phelan back will help get the attacking football back. Hopefully Muelensteen will be back too before long.
December 19, 2018 at 10:04 am #1709119If Ole made top4 with this lot he stands every chance of being offered the position permanently. In fact, it would not surprise me if that’s the deal.
December 19, 2018 at 10:24 am #1709125It’s incredible what’s gone on since I last posted here. Unfortunately my prediction for the Liverpool game was spot on followed by Mourinho’s sacking, and several PR disasters such as mistimed managerial announcements and Pogba’s ridiculous “caption this” social media post. To be honest the whole thing feels like a proper circus act at the minute but we can at least have a bit of hope moving forward now that the axe has inevitably fallen on Jose.
Mourinho’s sacking is quite sad for me. It’s clear he lost the dressing room and one can’t help but wonder what could have been if the manager and players were able to put the badge first and get the business done. The constant squabbling was embarrassing. In any case the writing was on the wall for Jose and thank goodness his tenure is over. I wish him well, he really needs to take a break from football and to sort out how he wants to approach football moving forward. His tactical and man management issues stem from him and he will have to adapt if he is to recapture the glory of his early career.
Moving on, I am quite interested in seeing what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can do with our playing squad from here onwards, he’s a wildcard appointment and I hope he does well – hopefully my all time favourite player can do a job for us again.
The main concern I have is what Woodward is doing behind the scenes. He is clueless and needs to put a Director of Football in place. I fear the board and Woodward himself are missing the obvious fact that he doesn’t know anything about running a successful football club and should get someone in who knows his football.
One thing for certain is that the players now no longer have anywhere to hide and they better realize that Mourinho was an easy target for fans and pundits alike – Solskjaer is a very likeable man and a fan favourite – the players will not get an easy ride moving forward and rightfully so.
December 19, 2018 at 10:46 am #1709133Pleased Ole been given the chance (would have preferred Blanc) and he has an easy run of fixtures to make until end of Feb to turn things around.
Would like to see what Pogba & Sanchez do differently now he’s gone. I want to see Pogba busting a gut to make things happen.
It will be interesting to see how our formation and line up are in a few weeks time.
December 19, 2018 at 10:56 am #1709135So much could be written about the past 24 hrs but i just cant be arsed. We seem to be going round in circles the past 5 years. I understand the appointment of Solskjaer in terms of trying to be bring positivity and turn it back over to the players. If it comes down to Solskjaer vs the players then there’ll only be one winner for the fans. Not convinced we’ll get anywhere near top 4 regardless of the changes. Don’t get Micky Phelan coming back either. Though i guess that was probably Fergies input.
If we sign Paul Mitchell from RB Leipzig as head of recruitment and development then i guess that’ll be the clearest sign we are defo after Poch. It will be interesting to see who they put in as overall technical director also. Time to sit back and see how the club progresses until the summer both on and off the pitch. Lets fucking hope this is the beginning of the journey to get us back to the top of the game!
December 19, 2018 at 12:25 pm #1709172I am ecstatic at the news of Ole’s appointment. He is the sort of manager I have been advocating but never realistically expected to get. I said I wanted a young tracksuit manager who hasn’t managed a big club, preferably ex-United, a legend and a Brit. I’ll give Ole a pass on the last one given how long he lived in England and he speaks perfect English even with a Manc accent !!!
And its the perfect appointment at a perfect time. As caretaker if it doesn’t work out no problem, no loss of reputation and no serious damage to the club as we’re not in the running for anything. The time is good because there’s plenty of time to see what he can do and to rescue our honour and even make top 4 or a good cup run.
He’s attack minded being a striker and shares the United philosophy of pacy attacking football. He is widely accredited as being tactically astute. His legend status should give him some slack from the fans and he’s a likeable bloke so the press will do the same. The players will find it hard not to respect him, his medals, his popularity. He came young, sat on the bench for years, played second fiddle and made it to become one of the most loved players in history. He’s been there, done it and the T-shirts have his name on them!
He’s a humble man who never had a clothing line (I have a clothes line, am I almost a star). I don’t think he would be too proud to ask Fergie for advice, so I’m sure we get a bit of Fergie wisdom into the bargain.
The only possible negative is I would prefer somebody who wield the hairdryer or chin a player like a Keane, Cantona or Neville but I think the modern players may not respond to that as they did in bygone years.
As for Phelan, I’m not a fan of his but its a good choice. He knows the club, the methods that worked and has worked with Ole. He’s enough of a Yes man to let Ole be the boss and do as he’s told. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s a backchannel to Fergie.
I wish him well and feel there is a good chance of him succeeding and getting the job on permanent basis. The Glazers will be well happy since it means no need to spend in January, no battles with JM over funds or complaining to the press. And they can milk the sponsors with photos of Ole scoring the winner and fans cheering O-LE, O-LE, O-LE. Jeez the sale of merchandise with Ole name and face on it is going to make Ed smile.
@happyhurling – How that for negativity and being a miserable bastard?
