Scouser, Keita has one foot out of the door (like Can) so his heart and mind is not where it should be.

Once he pulls on a red shirt and starts training with the lads it’ll be GAME ON!

Football scouser Southampton fans were saying the same things about vvd before left. That he didn’t look like the same player, fast forward a few weeks and we know that peak VVD was being eclipsed by under committed attitude. In these situations, especially more so with Kieta, these things are expected results. In fact its’s like the opposite of the Coutinho situation, Coutinho knew he had to perform every week to give Barcelona a reason to come back for him and bid again. Whereas with Kieta his head is already in the premiership. You’re right though football scouser, once he gets to UK kloop, will punch him into shape physically and mentally.

The only way I could see Keita not going well for us is if we aren’t in the C/L & his head is elsewhere like it is now. Even then he’d need to perform to get C/L clubs to want him so I find it very unlikely he won’t be a very good player for us.

Yeah Keita is going to be amazing, however I still think we need an upgrade on the DM so that Keita can concentrate on the atracking transition which he excels at.

People have been talking about lecesiter citys Ndidi.

But this guy at Watford also looks good option as DM. Scores goals and has good passing ability. So far this season’s he has 7 goals and 3 assists is nothing to be sniffed at for a DM.

I see Keita went off injured on Monday night. Hamstring apparently. Let’s hope it’s neither too serious (it didn’t look it) nor have we landed ourselves with a sick note!

Good shouts Rob, definetely need to get specialists in for next season. Tired of seeing Henderson play out of his skin just to have an average game as a DM.

Every other day it seems like I read an article of see a comment on how brilliant this kid will be for us & as much us I am hopeful he will be a brilliant player for us. I think the expectations of him are going to be so high! I just hope fans can manage their expectations & give him time to settle.

AK he is going to be just what we have needed, a game changer but also someone who works hard to do a lot of the less fashionable duties.

Munich lose for the first time in 19 games. Keita scores the equaliser and then sets up the winner, what a player we have coming!

(On a side note how is Coutinho doing I haven’t heard much about him since he left us?)

Cant wait to see Keita come in next season, just watched the highlights and i must say we are badly in need for his aggressive direct play, our midfield is too soft and too “nice”.

Who cares about how coutinho is doing, he is no longer a Liverpool player. Honestly i dont care even if he rots there. Not sure if the media is simply clickbaiting with their article titles or coutinho is being a rat and loves to leak Liverpool rumours to the media. If it is the latter, surely it is wrong to expose internal information of your former employer to the public without their consent.

I haven’t seen a great deal of him but from the odd bits that I have he does seem to have something our current crop of midfielders don’t and that’s the ability to glide past an opponent at close quarters as if they’re not there. Think of the way Dembele does it for Spurs and you’ll know what I mean.

I’m really looking to seeing him in the red shirt next season.

That’s an excellent example there with that comparison to Spurs’ Dembele.

The biggest hurdle for Keita is the sky high expectation from all our fans, including myself. I always think that he can give us the same impact like Gerrard. It is unfair for a player who has no EPL experience but his performance in last season (not this season) really made me dream.

i wonder were he will play? Everytime i see him play he is always in the opposing box. He has everything in him to be a box to box player. Will he play more advanced were ox/couthino play or box to box? i think all our midfielders are supposed to get forward and back in anyway

I think he’ll be given Can’s position, right central mid Sean with a more defined metronome behind (a Hendo replacement?). He will be required to track back of course to play his part in the 451 without the ball.

Sean I’ve seen him a few times play and I must say he looks like the perfect player to do the box to box role. People compared him with Kante at the beginning and he definitely has that defensive side to his game as well, he will snapping and winning balls back and then is equally comfortable in the attacking third of the pitch, unlike Kante. With respect to Kante, Kante is probably a better defensive mid but Keita’s defensive skills are Kante-esque hence the two players in one tag he gets labelled with.

However, he definitely needs to be paired with the right players around him. I have a good feeling about:

    Ox (attacking mid)
    Keita (box to box)
New signing – with aggression and expert awareness (Defensive Mid)

I really do have faith in an Ox / Keita combo. I think Klopp is still working with Ox to get him to understand how we move as a team. the only criticism I have of Ox as at times he gets lost. He clearly has the physique and ability to be a great player but mentally sometimes he is a bit slow to anticipate and lack positional awareness. Ox hasn’t really had a sustained period in this team and so I think with some more development and coaching Klopp will eventually get Ox up to speed. Don’t get me wrong Ox has played some great games but even when played in his favoured central midfield position he seems to struggle at times.

But again just as our defence has been rejuvenated by VVD our midfield probably needs a great Defensive Midfield to equally get that rejuvenation factor, I don’t think Keita will be enough personally, it will be a lot better but I still see us struggling unless we sort out the defensive mid-issue. In fact getting a great DM might mean we might not need to splash out on Lemar. With a solid DM we have a good base to build on and Ox can actually concentrate on what he is good at with is attacking. I don’t think Ox is that good defensively and this season he has been tasked with doing more defensive work than he has probably ever done at Arsenal. Get a decent DM and then Ox somewhat weak positional abilities don’t affect his or the teams performance as much, then Ox and Keita can cause havoc in midfield supporting the front three

Selling Coutinho must have come as a blessing for Klopp. I never felt he was a Klopp type of player. If he was at another club and became available, I doubt Klopp would ever have signed him. The fact is that he was such a talented player that Klopp was almost forced to accommodate him in the side.

Klopp was determined to get Keita. Can you imagine any other PL manager signing a player for the following season? Managers want players for the here and now, but you can see that Klopp is planning for the long term.

I suspect he has massive plans for Keita. I think he will redefine the traditional number 10 role. He will add guile, but also some steel to that role. I can’t think of any other payer in world football that plays as a number 10, but also acts as the first line of defence.

I can’t wait for Keita to come to us. He’s gonna be a real game changer, not just in terms of ability but the way the entire team will be shaped.

Sent off again today lol… oh well cant accuse this guy of not having some character! Klopp will sort it out for sure when here and enable him to channel that energy.

There is a serious issue here with this guy, his rec cards will be the undoing of him if he doesn’t remove that from his game.

Our main style of pressing is much more dependent on us having players in forward/midfield positions than most other teams. If we lose someone like Keita to a red card here and there, we’ll lose matches. Initiative will go out the window and our game plan will no longer be effective. So , I do find it pretty disturbing to hear about all his red cards. I mean WTF is he doing? he sounds like a nasty piece of work if I’m honest but I’m still looking forward to us signing him, especially given how good Klopp is with players.

Mwake, as for the CM when he comes in… this is frustrating to me because it seems Klopp plans on keeping Henderson in there. Yes Henderson is pretty good lately but was he this good all season? far from it. So, will we actually sign a top CM? I would!. . but will Klopp. Also, if he does, I don’t think it’ll be a DM.
