Fergie’s domination was underpinned by the class of 92 which is very unlikely to happen again and there is now significantly more competition in the PL than when United dominated what was always a two horse race.

Personally I can’t see anybody dominating the PL like United did again.

Klopp is a very good Manager though and a perfect fit for Liverpool and I would be surprised if he doesn’t ultimately deliver trophies.

Pool have a good one there, and the sky’s the limit.

Have to agree with RB’s big brother, very doubtful anybody is going to dominate quite like Fergie ever did, but he’s likely to pick up a pot or two…that’s for sure.

Time will tell, but the Micky Mouser’s are going to have some entertaining years ahead of them….

I agree Ferguson’s dominance was built from having the class of 92. They stayed till the very, with some retiring sooner or moving on sooner.

Looking at the resemblance, the only side who can possibly have a similar aura today is Chelsea. With Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek challenging the 1st team today, Aina and Solanke in the shadows, Abraham doing well on loan, along with Traore, Ake and Kenedy. They have a quality crop of youngsters.

there is something special about Klopp, his done more than well with a very average squad as he did in Germany as well.

No offence to Fergiesarmy but I never understand the obsession we have with predicting how someone’s career might look in 20/30 years when we look back on it. Klopp looks a very good manager but let’s at least see him win 1 or 2 league titles with Liverpool before we speculate about his future success relative to the game’s greats.

The same can be said about when the likes of Harry Kane burst onto the England scene. People were already speculating about whether or not he could overtake Rooney’s goalscoring record. Let the lad at least get a few games under his belt before talking records etc.

Things change much quicker now in football than they ever did. Much like Mourinho is currently experiencing, Klopp was supposedly finished after looking like he might relegate Dortmund. Now he’s flavour of the month again and rightly so, but to speculate that he could one day be up there with one of the best ever is way too premature imo!

    Number_Seven, you’re spot on!

Everyone is so keen to go way too far into the future with their speculation these days. Yes Klopp is doing well currently but as a Liverpool fan, I don’t get too carried away as I just look back at that final season at Dortmund and it immediately grounds me.

Things can change very quickly in football these days, we might go on a terrible run and be sat 7th/8th come Christmas. then all these comments and articles will have been pointless.

Totally agree with the last two posts. This question could be asked if Klopp had won trophies but he has done nothing so far aside from improved us and make us play some great football.

Great post Chris, personally I don’t think anybody will ever get close to what SAF achieved over so many years and I very much doubt we will ever see his like again.

Just a small point but whilst Klopp did have a terrible last season at Dortmund his supposedly average squad was decimated by injuries…they were in relegation form before christmas but ended up in a respectable position at the end of the season. No one will ever do a fergie again, all that sky money has finally made the league competitive, I agree liverpool are top at the moment but could easily finish fifth or lower its way too hard to predict things these days!
