Sacrificing several midfielders for defenders has caused a lot of problems leading us to have both a makeshift midfield and makeshift defence. Surely better to maintain your midfield and just have more of a makeshift or weaker defence than killing both areas?
February 13, 2021 at 3:25 pm #1922935Exactly mikus. Play actual CBs in defence and get hendo back in midf.
February 13, 2021 at 3:27 pm #1922938“Sacrificing several midfielders for defenders has caused a lot of problems leading us to have both a makeshift midfield and makeshift defence”
Well said Mikus, and there you have the crux of our problem.
Totally agree, maintain our original midfield, and have a weaker defence, we were always very good at defending and pressing from the front anyway
February 13, 2021 at 3:31 pm #1922948I just alison can recover from his mistakes because some goalkeepers dont.
February 13, 2021 at 3:31 pm #1922949I just hope
February 13, 2021 at 3:52 pm #1922956Alisson will be fine. The whole team are now feeling the pressure. Today looked like it was going to be part of the healing process but instead its had the opposite effect. Alisson has to play the next game otherwise his confidence will be even worse. We are in free fall and I honestly thought we hit the bottom last week. Looking for positives here, trent and robbo very much improved. Kabak wasnt bad on his debut. But Thiago…..man…..he cant help himself. No doubting he is a very good player but he has done nothing in a liverpool shirt and he really is hurting us with these miss timed tackles….every game. Let’s hope we’ve hit the bottom this time,
February 13, 2021 at 3:59 pm #1922960Allison has to play the next game because our other option is Adrian.
February 13, 2021 at 4:03 pm #1922963Hope this is the bottom Fulcrum, Liverpool have overcome severe adversity in the past and can do so again.
A midfield of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Jones (or Fabinho if fit) in the next match. Thiago, for now is a luxury player, until he adapts to this league.
And Alisson’s mistakes are easy to fix anyway
February 13, 2021 at 4:07 pm #1922965I’m going to stop talking about Thiago from now on because it’s not really his fault that he is being given so much responsibility when he is still adapting to the pace of the PL and getting to grips with the system.
Positive is indeed Kabak, I would say take steps to get the deal through to give him the necessary confidence going forward and avoid any niggling uncertainty. Yes Vardy got a few runs in the first half but last year even in the middle of our incredible run players like Vardy got two or three good chances per match and more often than not didn’t score. Likewise today we conceded from a fk and a clanger from Alisson, and the 3rd goal is a bit fuzzy in my head can’t remember how that got in.
Concerning the FK, saw Bellerin lie on the floor behind the wall recently, thought it was a bit absurd, well looks like he was onto something, if indeed that got through under the wall?
February 13, 2021 at 5:03 pm #1922999Good posts mikius and fulcrum
Difficult to see how we bounce back as we are littered with mistakes at the minute
Pity as we played well today for 79 minutes. Jones coming off killed us and I would have taken Thiago off. He’s been a liability. I think he will come good but his rash tackling is killing us. He’s not up to the pace off it either.
Full backs did well. It’s the same topic every week or playing players out of position
Jurgen making a few mistakes. I just hope he doesn’t walk as I’ve no doubt we will bounce back next season
February 13, 2021 at 5:23 pm #1923007Lord Allison took the crown from Lord Karius… top class muppet. The only thing left for Allison to do is kick the ball into his own goal next week against Everton. Perfect hat trick.. LOL
February 13, 2021 at 5:25 pm #1923010Looks like Liverpool’s title defence is pretty much over now. With a goalkeeper who is ordinary at best and too many average players in the squad, over rated and cheating strikers, it’s getting embarrassing now. Last season was a real fluke. RBL will probably knock you out of the CL now as well.
Will take this opportunity to remind you Van Dijk and Gomez started the match when Aston Villa smashed you 7-2. Enough of the excuses. Klopp has to prove hes a good manager by turning your season around now.
February 13, 2021 at 5:46 pm #1923023What is sad is that Firmino’s delicious assist for Salah’s goal has somewhat understandably got completely lost in all of the analysis and debate on Liverpool’s defeat.
Truly superb by Firmino.
February 13, 2021 at 5:47 pm #1923024Time to get behind Klopp, the only manager since Ferguson in 2008 to win both the Premier League and Champions League, and against all odds also, with a very low net spend.
City last season lost 9 league games, yet did not have a major injury crisis, apart from maybe one or two players missing. And they have the strongest squad anyway being the biggest spenders in world football.
Liverpool, on the other hand, we lost our 3 main CBs for virtually the whole season, an unprecedented situation that would affect any club.
What is not acceptable however, and must be eliminated, is costly errors that are entirely avoidable from Alisson, Jones and Trent that have cost us in 4 recent games. Also, Klopp must never play our midfielders in defence again, it may work for a few games, but in the long term you will be found out.
Forget about today, the boys must now focus on how to win the next match
February 13, 2021 at 6:05 pm #1923032Songman the fans are still behind klopp
February 13, 2021 at 7:45 pm #1923066We’ve been saying forget about today for weeks now I think we have got 9 points from the last 30! Available
Klopp will always bar relegation have my support he did the one thing we wanted more than anything else. But how without fans being in the stadium can klopp feel the love from the fans?
Klopp & these boys have won the bloody league & we as fans have not been able to show our appreciation which is a massive loss of connection. I think this season is going to whimper out to be a big anti climax after a huge high. Top 4 on current form highly unlikely IMO big summer & next season ahead for klopp. I just hope I get to see this team & our Klopp at Anfield before he leaves.
February 13, 2021 at 8:35 pm #1923084Redsforever, nlsome fans are clearly not behind Klopp,
Personally I am 100% behind him, no point only supporting him when everything is going well, what about when times are hard?
And most of the best managers in football sometimes have a bad season, for whatever reason
February 13, 2021 at 8:43 pm #1923086… some fans, just check online
February 13, 2021 at 8:44 pm #1923087Anyone turning on klopp should just go fuck off
He can be questioned but the man is a god to us fans no matter what happens this season
February 13, 2021 at 9:01 pm #1923089Rumours spreading klopp had quit
