OK, straight off the bat, here’s my predicted line-up:
Alisson, Milner, Matip (at the moment), Fabinho, Robbo (worried about him but I think he’ll make it), Gini, Thiago, Keita, Mane, Firmino and Jota. Would actually like to see a 4231 with maybe Shaq as the 10 but if it is a 4231 then Shaq may just slot in in Mo’s spot, Bobby as the 10 with Thiago and Gini behind, Mane on the left and Jota up top. Bloody hell, I don’t know.
What I do know is that Leicester will come for the win. It’s Brenden. How often does he ‘park the damn bus’?
I always worry about Vardy and would have had him at Liverpool years ago and still would. Absolute cracking player. He and Kane are the best ‘9’s in the country and have been for years. Ruthless poachers, creators and lead their respective lines brilliantly.
In last season’s corresponding fixture last October it took a last minute James Milner penalty to secure all three points after James Maddison cancelled out Mane’s first half strike very late on. I think that was the first time last season I felt ‘this could actually be our year.’
Brenden’s lost Chilwell of course and Soyuncu (who I like) at the back but that hasn’t stopped his team conceding the least no. of goals so far this season along with Spurs, Villa and Wolves (9). Compare that to us; only West Brom and Leeds have worst defences but we’ve only let in 2 in our last 6 matches.
63 games at home unbeaten (absolutely incredible) BUT I think that’s gonna come to an end on Sunday. Never thought I’d see myself type this but 3-1 to Leicester with Vardy, of course, on the scoresheet. I always use a statistical/gut feeling way of predicting scores and a number of factors came into play here – injuries, Covid, is such a player fit, will such a player make it, our close call with Leicester last season (strong squad too for that game (Matip and Shaq missing tho; yes, you did not read that wrong!), Leicester’s defence, them battering City at the Etihad and beating Arsenal away, the fact that they’ve won their last six games scoring 15 and conceding 2 and finally, it’s Brenden, he knows us pretty well. The only way I could possibly reverse my prediction if I knew for sure who was available. I wake up nervous about Matip daily, no clue if Hendo or Robbo will be fit, Thiago? Who the hell knows? Fabinho? Fill me in please. Leicester do have Jonny Evans tho and he’s an Northern Irish Lovren; a giant mistake in almost every game he plays. I’d put Jota right on him.
Sticking with me away win folks. Sorry!
November 17, 2020 at 2:18 pm #1893302Sorry, 7.15 kick off.
November 17, 2020 at 3:31 pm #1893327Few days away before making score or team predictions yet.
Too much can change.November 17, 2020 at 4:17 pm #1893342Very true Ginger. We now reside in a very nebulous and unpredictable world.
November 17, 2020 at 6:50 pm #1893377I feel dirty but I transferred in and captained Vardy right off the bat in GW9. I also have a bad feeling about Leicester and Vardy usually scores against the bigger teams.
November 17, 2020 at 6:53 pm #1893379skaunk, sorry pal, that first line is alien to me!
November 17, 2020 at 7:32 pm #1893396Interesting game, I think I heard Leciester also have their entire first-choice defence out as well so should be a good match up.
November 17, 2020 at 9:09 pm #1893426If that’s the team then I fancy us rob
Vary of course is a concern so I expect us to stay that extra few yards back and we are playing no we’re near as high since vvd got injured
It’s who will play left centre back if fabhino is fit? Is Thiago even training yet???
Really hope he is back. Can still see one or two changes to that team
Very tough game but I always fancy us at home even without crowds
November 17, 2020 at 9:11 pm #1893427November 17, 2020 at 11:06 pm #1893440Fabinho and Thiago did not train today. Could be precautionary but…
November 18, 2020 at 8:06 am #1893466Ffs Thiago has an extra two weeks and I really don’t think he is any nearer to returning. That will be over a full month out
Real pity as itching to see him play again
November 18, 2020 at 10:14 am #1893520Like I said yesterday it’s too early to be predicting team for Sunday, too much can change.
November 18, 2020 at 11:08 am #1893554Quite right, Thiago and Fabinho haven’t even started training yet.
Assuming no more injuries… attack is Mane, Firmino and Jota, and in midfield Gini, Keita, Milner and Shaqiri are available for selection.
While in defence, Phillips to partner Matip, but I don’t want to see Neco Williams at RB, as he’s too inexperienced, but we may have no option.
Tough game, with so many regulars out, but we just have to find a way to win it
November 18, 2020 at 11:45 am #1893571I’ll be very surprised if Milner doesn’t start right back.
Not prepared to write off Fabinho, Thiago or Hendo just yet.
A lot will depend on formation.November 18, 2020 at 1:10 pm #1893607Looking forward to seeing what team we put out.
November 18, 2020 at 2:48 pm #1893644November 19, 2020 at 7:08 am #1893766Fabinho and Thiago no chance for this game, some miracle recovery occurs. Fabinho’s just returned to fitness, while Thiago’s still injured, neither has been seen in training.
Henderson on the other hand could make it, and I hope he does, so Milner can play RB
November 19, 2020 at 7:36 am #1893772…Fabinho and Thiago no chance for this game, unless some miracle recovery occurs.
November 19, 2020 at 7:44 am #1893777Well if fabhino and Thiago are out which looks highly likely then I’m concerned
Willians was sent home England u21 with a hip injury so I’m not sure if he be fit as I’d go for him over Philips because he is quicker and vardy is going to be a real handful
Alison
Milner hendo/willians matip robo
Keita Hendo Winji/ Jones
Mane Bobby jotaNovember 19, 2020 at 10:07 am #1893816I think Rhys Williams is injured, otherwise I’d start him cause of his pace. But Phillips has been at Kirkby all week training and raring to go.
Barring some late surprises, it seems to be Gini, Keita and possibly Shaqiri or Jones in midfield, as Henderson has now been ruled out.
Still not convinced by Jones in the big games yet, but if he starts, then it’s a good a chance as any for him to prove he can help us get a win
