So who can everyone think of as the worst signings that wouldn’t even get into this team. Who was your best/favourite signing.

My worse was so bad they named him twice Djemba Djemba – but there are plenty of others that come close.

My most exciting was Collymore who turned out not to fulfil his potential.

My favourite was Juan Pablo Angel – class act and scored some great goals. Closely followed by Carew (partly because it meant Baros left) and the mighty Laursen.

Just for the record my favourite Villa song was Dwight York, Dwight York to New York, New York and Savos (boom boom boom)

We have signed some quality along the way…

Best defender has got to be God himself…. Paul Mcgrath 🙂
Best Midfielder for me was David Platt
    Best Striker Dean Saunders

    Enjoy some great memories….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1dM49e7Dz4

Strange – no one rates the team of ’81’82 – ??

best defender Paul Mcgrath, after that could be laurson, nichol, evans, sluenhoek (not sure of the spelling) southgate, teal, ugo, melberg, ken mcnaught- makes you sad when you think of what we have had before.

midfield – Mortimer, Cowans, Rioch, merson, bremner,

strikers – angel, withe, hitchens, little, york, Gary Shaw, andy Gray

Being born in 1996 I wasn’t around for many of the players previously mentioned.
But I remember the day we signed Darren Bent was huge. Breaking the record transfer fee and spending £24 million on a striker was brilliant, every fan was so excited by this signing. I will always remember his debut, scoring the goal to beat Manchester City 1-0.
