Bogdan was very good tonight. How much better is he than Jones??
Speaking of Jones, he’s just been released from his contract 3 months after signing it……and we kept him for FIVE yearsOctober 28, 2015 at 11:18 pm #685282
I like Bogdan, simliar to Jack Butland of Stoke last night!October 28, 2015 at 11:58 pm #685330
When asked about Benteke and Sturridge did I hear Klopp saying something along the lines of “Sturridge will play if he trains tomorrow”?
If that’s accurate, anyone thinks that strange?
He was quite straight forward about Benteke but a bit more annoyed about Sturridge. Perhaps it’s just all the questions he been getting asked about him.October 29, 2015 at 12:29 am #685336
In fairness to Jones he showed great courage and mental strength to come back and play after what happened his son.He will always have my respect for that.October 29, 2015 at 8:17 am #685444
Ginger – As Badger says, Jones went through a hell of a time with his son, and the club stood by him. Most of those five years he was on the books but not really a player as he was spending so much time in and out of hospital with his boy. The club stood right behind him a supported him through this horrible time, I would not have expected anything less. I just hope I never have to go through anything like he did.October 29, 2015 at 8:24 am #685465
Is it me, or does Connor Randall look too much like Aspas?!? Fortunately he didn’t play like him though. I thought he did really well, and grew in confidence as the game went on. Maybe we were a little premature saying that we had no full back cover. Too early to say that he will make it, of course, but a promising start. Texeira was similarly impressive, though it is going to be harder for him to get a look in, as we have much greater cover in his position.
But I thought the two of them showed great promise, and I would give big pluses also to Ibe, who I’ve criticised recently, Bogdan, Clyne and of course Bobby Firmino. As for Origi, he so far from the standard required at the moment, it is kinder to him to keep him away from the first team. You can see the confidence almost visibly drain from him as he gets bullied off the ball – he’s just not up to it at the moment, I’m afraid, and I was surprised Jurgen didn’t give Sinclair some minutes last night.
All in all, a decent performance and a win for Jurgen…and now for Chelski!October 29, 2015 at 12:35 pm #685906
I thought that was a decent game. Considering Brannagan, Randall and Texeira were making their full debuts.
Texeira excelled even though he was a bit sloppy to begin with. Bogdan also impressed me, he seems like a excellent number 2 keeper. Hopefully he can challenge Mignolet for the first spot.
What concerned me though was the lack of creativity from midfield. To begin with the only one making any moves was Texeira, thankfully Lucas provided a better range of passing when he was introduced.
Origi is beginning to grow on me, I like him down the right flank, he is providing goals from that position, something we need at the moment and I would take him over Ibe as a winger. Ibe though had his best game for a while, he was relentless in his effort to beat his man and got the better of him on a few occasions. But of the two, Origi got the better end product, I would stick with him out wide when we got our strikers back.
Texeira was man of the match for me.October 29, 2015 at 1:24 pm #685981
Klopp mentioned that Firmino can play as a number 9, and played there for Brazil a couple times. Maybe that’s something we might see. I prefer Origi in wide positions, good burst of pace but not strong or aggressive enough to trouble the center-backs.October 29, 2015 at 3:53 pm #686239
I know that there will be hoards of responses saying “give the lad a chance” / “he needs time to settle” / “he’s still young” etc etc; but it’s already getting really difficult to give Origi the benefit of the doubt on whether he will ever be a truely effective striker at the level required. I’m not saying that he’s rubbish, but if I had to find a word to describe him….I think it would have to be “bland”. He’s sort of OK, but sometimes you think he’s just going through the motions of being a striker. He seems to have a bit of everything (pace, skill, physical presence. desire) – but not enough of any of them to really make an impression. Seen it all before to varying degrees with Ngog and Aspas, but the concern is that we’ve paid more for Origi. Maybe there’s still time for him to redeem himself – but I think I’ve already reached the stage that if he does, then it’s going to be a really pleasant surprise.October 29, 2015 at 4:16 pm #686260
As many have said he’s still very young but worries me the most about Origi is his performances last yr in his home league.
Ligue 1 is distinctly average and he struggled. It’s a massive step up in quality to play in the Prem. I kept an eye on him last season to see how he got on and I’m baffled as to why we paid £10mil for him. This is a guy who’s been playing regular football in France, not the odd game.
Hopefully he improves massively over the next 2 yrs.October 30, 2015 at 8:31 am #686761
Ginge – I must admit I kept an eye on his numbers last year, which were disappointing, I didn’t see his games but read a few match reports which all seemed to indicate his overall game was good, but I do agree he has a lot of development to do, but isn’t this what Klopp is famed for. He didn’t really make any big name signings at Dortmund just developed players to become big names.
As far as Herring goes – Yes after barely three games it is far to early to write a player off, it is lucky this is not Coutinho’s first season otherwise you would have him out of the door as well.
What has happened with these fans? It was all about supporting the players and the staff even when things weren’t going right, ever heard the words “When you walk through a storm” Even the players have sensed it talking about the crowd getting on their backs when they misplace a pass, it is sport these things happen, does anyone really believe this is going to help the team perform or just making them nervous about trying that tricky pass that might unlock a defence.October 30, 2015 at 1:02 pm #687379
First post on the new site ( not sure about it) Well happy with how we are playing. I said that BR would go because of his style and politics. We are pressing well and forcing teams into mistakes. Klopp will develop the youngsters into winners.October 30, 2015 at 1:49 pm #687499

I wouldn’t have Origi at all – I’m baffled why we paid so much for him.
He has plenty of ability but lacks heart and determination – just like David Ngog.
He runs behind his marker and doesn’t always show, and I think he needs a breakthrough that ignites something in his spirit very soon, or else he will forever be another player just going through the motions and get moved on.
How many of this standard of player have we seen? If they aren’t good enough then they aren’t good enough, and no amount of fake patience will make them world class.October 31, 2015 at 10:31 am #688045
I can’t see us offering enough in attack to beat chelski at this stage so I just hope we can hold for a draw. Despite their position they haven’t been playing badly lately whilst our struggles continue in the attacking 3rd & our defence still doesn’t look assured despite the improvement. I think they will score so hopefully Benteke gets used effectively & is enough of a hindrance to assist us in goals column. I predict either a 1 OR 2-0 loss or a 1-1 score line.October 31, 2015 at 2:53 pm #688273
Yeahhhhhh…. Superb win. Brilliant. Magnifecent. Well done Klopp and the players!October 31, 2015 at 3:56 pm #688426
Get in the Redmen YNWA 🙂October 31, 2015 at 3:59 pm #688432
Absolutely outstanding win, especially coming back from behind. Let us hope it is just one of many, many more to come. Klopp has brought the fight and desire back to Liverpool FC.
As for Benteke, where are the doubters who said he was overpriced and not good enough to play for Liverpool?October 31, 2015 at 4:45 pm #688522
Just wanted to you all to know I will be living my PL dreams vicariously through you lot for the near future. Klopp is a breath of fresh air, humble, honest and fun. Will be routing for you lot and I doubt I’ll be the only neutral doing so!
Great result at the bridge today. I love seeing JM wear his sour puss face! I think I see an axe falling!

I hope we only get better, the gameplay is so much better…we are so composed and solid as a team. The gameplay so much better than ROGER tactics but still a lot of improvement. I’m not going to get carried away because I think Chelsea are struggle as a team now.
