We dont buy stars we make them that’s what our motto used to be.

Ed took over transfers and wanted to turn us into a mini real Madrid by only going after names who can provide commercial value.

Look at liverpool signings they mirror our signings under Fergie.

    Robinson Hull = Irwin Oldham
    Trent youth = Neville youth
    Matip Gent = Vidic cska
    VVD Southampton = Rio leeds
    Henderson Middlesbrough = Johnson Bronby
    Mane Southampton = yorke villa
    Salah Roma = ole molde

I could go on and on what I am trying to say we signed players that suited us not players who we had to change the team style for.

We were only guilty once of that when we signed Veron.

That’s why I found it funny when some supporters went mad that we are linked to a Swansea player well Robinson the best left back in the prem came from a struggling championship side so figure that one out.

As much as it pains me to see how Liverpool assembling a top quality squad full of pace, power, skill and determination I think this “theory” they’ve stolen something we allegedly “invented” is pretty far fetched.

Think like half the teams in the league, their recruitment has been vastly superior to United – i.e. their hit rate on players has been much higher. Sanchez, Matic, Lukaku, Pogba, Bailly, DiMaria, Blind, Rojo, Darmian, Mata, Dalot have not delivered.
A compounding factor for United has been our hanging onto dog shit for far too long – Jones, Young, Smalling, Valencia, Fellaini, Lingard.

The above is a whose who of Players who either should never have been at the club or who should have been shipped out far far sooner.

People may think its harsh re Dalot but he cant defend and cant displace our 30 something year old makeshift full back and ex winger.

City and Liverpool players don’t have something in their players which we do, what is it?

NONE OF THEIR PLAYERS HAVE HUGE FUCKING EGOES.

I don’t think that’s necessarily it mufc, to be successful at that level you have to have an ego of sort, the difference is that City and Liverpool’s players are able to leave their egos at the door and play for the team, none of our, not even DDG can do that.

    Hilarious thread title 🙂

stole your blueprint??? you NEVER had a Blueprint you had a Fergie!! thats it, end of…

Pool are SLOWLY acheiving things by running the football side of their business well, united (and my team) dont and wont, its the owners fault in both cases

Killy has a point though…how do teams full of superstars get them playing for trophies and the badge and fans rather than the money??

How many successful teams full of superstars sign superstars?

Most sides full of stars have developed those players into stars at the club. There are a few exceptions but I can’t think of many sides that have been successful by just signing superstars, think of the Real Madrid / Galactico project, nowhere near as successful as it should have been.

Very few, if any, of the players at City, Liverpool and Spurs have been signed at the peak of their powers, they’ve been identified, signed and developed. This means they buy into the way the club is run and what the manager demands. A superstar (Neymar) would come carrying a load of baggage about how they should be treated and would destabilize the squad – Sanchez has been paid superstar wages and ruined the wage structure at the club.

That’s true, think he became more of a director of football towards the end. He had a large team doing everything else for him.

my point is that man was King Midas, but after his tenure and what he did there was no blueprint, there was the way Fergie was able to operate (with his team) and towards the end even though he somehow won you that last PL title his buys were poor and style of football was very much on the wane….

all this talk of DNA and Club Blueprints are toch IMHO

very few clubs in the world can say that but a few can because their ENTIRE set up from the B team, to owners/managers/players are geared up to follow a certain way and changed if they fail

Maureen didnt give Chelsea a “DNA” AW didnt give us a “DNA” what they gave was THEIR style, thoughts and tital control winning how they thought best

you need a DoF ( a good one) scout revamp in line with the DoF, a decided upn way of wanting to do things on and off the pitch then slowly go about doing that and in a few years time you might get there, it looks like City have been heading that way for 10 years with a real plan, Liverpool are too and have been since deciding to get Klopp…
