We looking very classy!
January 2, 2020 at 10:07 pm #1812885Apparently, Liverpool made a total of 969 passes against Sheffield United tonight.
That is the highest number by any team ever in a Premier League match.
History in the making, hopefully more records are on the way
January 2, 2020 at 10:08 pm #1812886We’re witnessing true greatness here.
January 2, 2020 at 10:10 pm #1812887Even funnier – Liverpool with more passes in the second half tonight than they managed in total in 14 of 20 league games under Roy Hodgson.
Klopp must be doing something right
January 2, 2020 at 10:14 pm #1812888A very easy win, very disappointed in Sheffield Utd, so defensive, we seemed to just stroll around which made it good for the players, but the match was so so boring.
Agree with Henderson being MOM, mainly because no one stood out.
Gomez again was very good, & once again Firmino except for a few delightful touches was poor.
With this said don’t mind winning a boring game it is another 3 pointsJanuary 2, 2020 at 10:16 pm #1812889I was actually very happy with Sheffield, they enabled us to win a relatively easy 3 points
January 2, 2020 at 10:29 pm #1812897Sheff utd are very good well drilled team. They are difficult to break down but we were just so good this evening
Excellent win.
January 2, 2020 at 10:39 pm #1812900I don’t know how someone can watch that and think nobody stood out.
Very proud of the team tonight, and don’t think that was easy. Though our lads make it look easy.
We’re playing like the best team in World Football right now.
January 2, 2020 at 10:41 pm #1812901If you all don’t think that was a boring game, so be it.
January 2, 2020 at 10:44 pm #1812902This is the most balanced team I’ve seen, just look at at everyone in the first lineup tonight, I’m pretty sure every player out there could swap positions, even Alison. Van Dijk had a goon run into the box, Gomez is averaging more dribbles than Matip had, Robertson and Trent can easily swap flanks and play as inverted wingbacks, we got Salah and Mane who often change position and can play anywhere a cross the front three and Bobby who would boss any position in the team and thats leaving out our most tactical players in midfield who know every position out there on the green!
January 2, 2020 at 10:57 pm #1812910Liverlad, I never get bored watching us. I thought it was nice being able to enjoy the football we played and been very relaxed.
To many times we have just had to see a game out with a slender lead. Love been able to relax and enjoy games like tonight.
Brilliant performance and Henderson mom for me
January 3, 2020 at 12:41 am #1812921If we win the next 3 PL games, I’m calling the PL title. We’re not only the best team in the world… we’re playing to the level of a legendary side, maybe with some great luck and a continuation, we could be the best ever English team.
I’m not getting my hopes up because of course you see bumps in the road. If we somehow don’t see this though, that’s exactly what we’ll be.
I just want the Pl title though , so I’ve the next 3 games earmarked. I had the past 2 also in fact but we’ve won them both and I was very impressed with us today.
How good is Gomez again? To those who prefer Matip, are you sure? It doesn’t have to be a “you’re wrong and an idiot!”.. it can just be about learning to appreciate what a player can do for us.
I’ve always said that Gomez is one of the best CBs in the PL and if he can just shake the injuries, he’ll hold this form NP.
January 3, 2020 at 7:53 am #1812947Good post Bingo.
It’s unbelievable how fluid the team is, you’ve got players slotting in and out of various positions, Milner at center back at one stage, Hendo on the wing, and fullback, frequently. Gini making strikers runs into the six yard box, Firmino dropping into midfield, Salah at center forward.
Everyone instinctively knows what to do, at the right time, and they work so hard for each other.
We may not have the best players in PL history, but this is the best TEAM in PL history.
I think if we win the next game we set a record for most points ever, at this stage in a season. Not just from the PL era, but an all time record.
Which goes to show how incredible this team is.
January 3, 2020 at 8:03 am #1812950Most important thing is to focus on winning the next game against Spurs.
Despite the greatness of this team, I would tone down the praise, as we have not won the league yet. As Henderson said yesterday, there is still room for improvement, and that will keep the team’s feet on the ground, and make them reach for even higher heights
January 3, 2020 at 8:30 am #1812958Great game and results!
Gomez motm again for me and can easily be considered the second best cb in the world now.
January 3, 2020 at 9:25 am #1812974Gomez was excellent, but for me MOTM was Henderson.
Klopp has a good dilemma to look forward to when all his centre backs are fit, with 3 of them fighting to start alongside Van Dijk.
As I said before, if they’re all performing really well, he could even rest Van Dijk on occasion
January 3, 2020 at 10:10 am #1812988Agree with what’s been said about Gomez and Hendo but just wanted to add that Milner put in a real good shift as well. Up and down the pitch he was everywhere.
January 3, 2020 at 10:18 am #1812995Yeah, there wasnt much between Gomez or Hendo for motm, Im just so amazed with Gomez’s improvement and the fact that he is allowing VVD to stride forward and protect the back AND having more dribbles than our other defenders.
I knew he was really fucking good but he really is surprising me! Thats why I hammer on his praises.
January 3, 2020 at 10:33 am #1813008I agree songman. Nothing has been achieved yet. We just need to keep going.
Huge few games coming up. Absolutely perfect Christmas for us but let’s just keep going.
Just so many games left. I just can’t go overboard yet
January 3, 2020 at 10:54 am #1813021Quite right Sean, the media is hyping us up, talking about records etc, but if we get beaten, they’ll have a field day and make such a big story about it.
We just have to focus on winning the next game only, no title talk, work to become even better, and see where we end up at the end of the season.
Don’t think Klopp will be getting carried away, and he’ll keep the players grounded
