Last january we lost Harvey Barnes back to Leicester and roumers today tells we can loose Diangana back to West Ham,that will be very bad for ALBION,so my question is; do we really need loan players in our team???Yes we do will people say,but they come into our team and play very well and than they are recall to their club and we stand back with nothing if you ask me.Loosing Diangana in jan can cost us prem.Maybe i am wrong, but we need loan players at least one whole season.Norway baggie

It seems almost certain that Diangana will return to WHU in January but are we worse off having him play for us for just a short while? I think not.
I’m not greatly keen on this system either but it is probably here to stay and mostly it has worked to our advantage. At least we now have options that were either not available or not used last season including the potential recall of Leko who has done so well on loan at Charlton.
I don’t think losing Diangara need cost us promotion but failing to replace the Metro almost certainly will. Zohore simply cannot be worse and must get a run games if he stays fit. Clapped out Charlie looks more useless with every match. Perhaps we shall be able to loan someone??

I agree. Diangara is probably as effective for us this season as Barnes was last season. But when Barnes went he took virtually all the creativity out of the side – I don’t remember the exact figures but I think we scored about two-thirds of our goals in the first half of the season. Now the whole team is brimming with creativity and to lose Periera would be an even bigger loss which is why we should sign him as soon as possible. I think it’s wonderful that players like Livermore and particularly Bartley, almost always seen as weak points last season, are now consistently praised for their performances. And I agree that Zohore should be given an extended run as the lone striker before the January window opens.

Really good point about Bartley and Livermore Sarky. Two of my least favourite selections but how well they have both performed this season. We probably have the best centre back in the division stuck on the subs bench and absent an injury its difficult to see him getting a game right now.
Out of interest after 15 games played last season we had 7 wins and 25 points with 33 goals scored and a goal difference of 11. We are currently one win and 5 points better off with only 5 less goals scored and the same goal difference. Looks very promising but I suspect the next game will be tough as Hull are currently one of the form teams of the league. A point or three would be very welcome.

Whatever happens in January, we do at least seem to have a manager, now, who can find decent replacements. And, because we look like contenders for promotion, there should be a few players around who wouldn’t mind a spell at Albion.

I agree, we have got to tie-up Pereira….preferably signing him to a 3-year-contract.

The other pleasing aspect of the situation is that we now have very good or adequate replacements in all areas of the team. I think we could now put out a second eleven capable of comfortably holding its own in the Championship.
I’m not sure how this has come about so quickly as the thing that distressed me most last season was not that we didn’t go up (we’d have come straight back down) but that the squad was threadbare. The scouting and management boys have done wonders. I’m sure there’ll be a few setbacks but I feel now that for the first time since Steve Clark was sacked, the club is moving in the right direction.
