There can be only one outcome here. Malmo are horrible. I’ll guess 3-0 in a canter. If they can be bothered it could be double that but I think they’ll go through the motions second half and focus on the weekend and Burnley.

Let’s hope it’s a comfortable 3 points which should be enough to get us into the last 16 we’ll need more than that to win the Group though. I would settle for a narrow win and no more injuries.

I think we should be able to nick 3 points there in Sweden. We have to be careful to overwork Havertz. He has started 3 matches in a row since Lukaku got injured. I would be happy for a narrow win there as long as there’s no injury. We had Lukaku & Werner injured last time against them. I would rotate heavily for this match. Pulisic may come from the bench; it should be a good timing for him.

    My team: Kepa – Chalobah,Christensen,Rudiger – Azpi,Kante,RLC,Alonso – CHO,Havertz,Ziyech

Agree with the team but Aindro, although would start mendy over kepa and probably start barkley over CHO to protect him along with Havertz. Your line up good though and we could take CHO off after 60 mins 🤞

It will be a strong line up imo we can’t take chance on just 6 points. One of two players will be rested though with Burnley in mind.

No Mount at training today I suspect we might leave him behind but Pulasic is training with the squad now and should make the bench v Burnley at least which would be a plus as we have so few attacking options.

Travelling is a problem up and down to Newcastle followed by there and back to Malmö.

The few attacking options one is true in a positional sense however we have had 15 different goal scorers less than a third into the season so across the park we have a multitude of attacking options. Whilst our opponents can’t score against us we have no issue as we always find a goal from somewhere. Once we can’t score against our opponents we have a problem. Against less elite teams we score for fun, more often from mid field, wing backs or defence. Without strikers against the best teams around we would struggle. Back to back losses against City and Juventus showed our deficiencies and in those matches we had the lads up front but we scored no goals and even chances were few and far between.

As anticipated a strong team and it needs to be to ensure we get the 3 points no easy games in the CL.

    16Mendy
    4Christensen
    6Thiago Silva
    2Rüdiger
    28Azpilicueta
    12Loftus-Cheek
    5Jorginho
    3Alonso
    22Ziyech
    20Hudson-Odoi
    29Havertz

No Kante not even on the bench is a worry going forwards.

He was left behind to work on his fitness Lucky according to Tuchel.

Belligerent defending and a lack of quality up front is making this a bit more difficult than we would have hoped for.

oh well. Got it slightly wrong. They went through the motions first half and have gone up a gear or two second half. Good goal and expect more. Maybe they forgot it was an early kick off themselves and were slow to bring the lamborghini out of the garage.

Best news of the night apart from the goal is Pulisic coming on for a run. Fingers crossed he gets through it ok. A goal from him would be a bonus and great for his confidence.

Yeah 67 twice within a few mins of voting on he took two balls down beautifully in the box under pressure he is such a good player.

I thought Ruben really showing his ability too, Joe Cole spot on at half time he needs to believe in himself more and drive at defence until a defender meets him. Doesn’t need to offload as soon as he does, let them come to him and create space for players ahead, if they don’t come soon enough then shoot but either way have some belief he is so bloody talented

What team, in a vital game that they must get a result defend their goal at 1-0 down like their lives depend on not having a heavier loss at the expense of trying to score a goal?
Malmo. It is crazy really. We are holding possession right down to the end under no pressure to even score a second. Sad really.

90th minute and now they are having a go. They’ve surprised me. As if a point is enough for them though. One last push for an equaliser.

Bit more tricky than the first game despite Chelsea’s domination of the ball.

The home crowd inspired Malmö to a backs to the wall performance.

“Best news of the night apart from the goal is Pulisic coming on for a run.”

Seconded 67 and on another day with a bit more football in the tank Pulasic would have probably scored too.

    Tuchel on Ruben

“I was a bit worried in the first 15 minutes if Ruben can find another gear but I heard before it was his first Champions League match since 2015 from the start,

He wants to dominate opponents, he wants not to just be a part of the game because I think he is too talented to just be a part of the group. He needs to use his full potential – that is the absolute key for him – and if he does like in this moment he can be a big part of the squad.

That is why I am very happy and after the first 15 minutes he was involved in a lot of dangerous moments for us. I am happy he pushes himself through these little downs and comes up with another strong performance.

I am very happy with him and the next step is to show consistency and push himself because the limit can constantly be pushed because he has so much potential.”

I thought his chances to fulfil potential with chelsea had gone with that injury under sarri and poor loan spell with Fulham but recently he has looked so good let’s hope he can achieve that consistency and tuchel can be the manager to help fully realise that great potential!

Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches in the world. He will drag any team he takes over upwards and any fan would be happy to have him their club. I remember whe he came to Chelsea we had just finished 10th. And that is thw narrative that the media is preaching.

But flip the argument and say, whilst conte is undoubtedly a talebted coach, Chelsea gave him the tools to succeed. Any manager who is at Chelsea is given the tools to succeed. In 2016/17 here is the squad he had, Azpi, Luiz and Cahill un back 3, Moses, Kante Matic and Alonso in the four, and Pedro, Costa and Hazard as the front 3. He had Fabregas and Willian on the bench also. So people need to see the differences.

Now Chelsea has a coach who plays similar system, but is much superior tactically in Tuchel, and if i was given the chance today, i would pick Tuchel over Conte any day despite being a massive fan of Conte.

YB, Conte is a great Coach until he throws his toys out of the pram which he’s done at every Club he’s been at but he will point Spurs in the right direction.

His first season at Chelsea was great but we shouldn’t forget that although he took over a team that finished 10th in the previous season the season before that they were Champions. Conte’s second season at Chelsea was painful and the negativity in his press conferences was draining tbh I wasn’t disappointed to see the end of him in the end.

We’re in safe hands with Tuchel and he’s doing a great job integrating both the Chelsea Academy players and the players you thought might have run their course at Chelsea like RLC and even Barkley.
