“Also I absolutely don’t agree with this needing Lovren thing. Dejan disaster was exactly that and was rightfully dropped after that Watford game. ”

Agreed regards the cock ups and complacency from LFC btw but on this, we didnt need Lovren, we needed a Lovren replacement.

Sean :”My major issue now is it’s boring watching us. We don’t get the ball forward quick enough and it’s just mundane and boring

Like mak says, get too 4 and get to the summer but ffs start playing our lads in midfield”

While I would say Klopp will get us out of this if his heart is still in it, he’s definitely made some critical mistakes this season but of course he can’t make the signings required in defence, perhaps they absolutely refused until it was too late… Klopp needed to play the midfielders in midfield when he can. Philips is decent enough at his job, certainly good enough to leave Hendo in midfield where he’s effective. This was a massive mistake in my opinion and it has cost us going forward.

The reason the games are boring is because we don’t look like we’re able to score in the majority of these poor matches. It is very very frustrating but I’m certainly not going to approach the “Klopp Out” bandwagon, in any non-ironic way. I can already see people are suggesting that he’s not up to the job and I saw this with Rodgers too. It was bloody quick watching everyone turn on him. Rafa before him was slower because he won something. Is Klopp next? I won’t conform to it if that is what’s beginning here.

“He kept players like Shaq, Matip and Keita usually injured.
Origi and Minamino can not provide with what Klopp wants.
How many mistakes Klopp managed to do since summeer is unbeleivable!! ”

He’s not perfect but what do you want to do about this? Shall we sack him now? If so, who do we get to replace him? Who is better than Klopp, let’s hear it.

I dont think any sane person is looking for klopp to leave. Hell, we could finish 16th and he’d keep his job. But even with any frustrations he may have with the board on transfers or possibly hes frustrated by the offer to Gini. Regardless, he has to shoulder blame for his stubborn selections. He is going to turn it around but our frustration is that it’ll be too late for this season.
Bingo my expectations for a title winning team with the resources available that we have is to challenge for the title. I dont start the season expecting to win, but I do expect us to challenge and I believe with better team management in terms of signing cover and on field selections we would still be challenging even with the injury crisis.

Only rival fans would want Klopp to get the boot.

We used to press very effectively in the last two seasons, all players doing it collectively in a well thought and structured manner although from the outside it could seem to be chaotic. Pressing is not just about running towards the opponents when they have the ball, but there are other important parameters such as timing of the press, as it’s not possible to press for 90 minutes. There’s also the aspect of blocking passing channels, luring players to make a pass which would seem to them destined to beat the press but is in fact a trap.

Now it’s fairly evident that we would not execute this art form as well as the last two seasons, but due to Klopp’s injudicious decisions, putting Thiago first on the team sheet for example, the pressing has fallen in intensity more than it should have. The Spanish looks completely out of sync with his team mates, he can pass the ball but he is not a perfect cog in a well oiled machine like the Ox, Milner, Shaqiri, Jones who should have been ahead of him.

Yesterday I was disappointed to see TAA steaming forward with the ball only to stop and scan the pitch to see where Thigao was. The latter was on the other side, and 20 yards behind and TTA squared it to him. It’s telling that Ole hasn’t given automatic starts to Van De Beek, and Pep refrained from playing Torres yesterday and their teams are ahead of us.

I would say it’s Phillips who should have been the first name on the team sheet, these last five or six games.

P, you also said : “Klopp has been responsible for this mess!”

I meant to copy that the first time. get a hold of yourself. He’s responsible for everything on the field since he arrived. you’re screaming like you want him sacked.

nobody is happy about this and Klopp has made soem mistakes but there’s no need to lay into him like he’s the fool that’s holding this great club back and that’s what yer doing.

It’s been made clear recently, that the owners were the ones getting complacent, and dragging their feet on signings.

But at least they eventually got it sorted. Now let’s get Hendo back in midfield, and move onwards and upwards.

“Maybe the goalkeeper’s feet were cold”. Jurgen Klopp

LOL 🤣🤣🤣. Klopp is always moaning and making excuses blaming others playing the victim card all too often. Not enough subs, injuries, refs, VAR, two games in a week; it is raining and too wet and windy really takes the cake though. He needs to look in a mirror and stop with all the negativity blame game. He thought Liverpool were entering into an era of domination and its over before it even began 😉

JC, too little too late in my opinion, at least with this season’s Pl in mind. It’ll still help with the CL though and give us a fair clue about whether we’re paying the purchase fee on the new lad, or looking elsewhere, so it’s not all bad but… I won;t pretend that this season’s PL couldn’t have been salvaged.

We’re going through some tough times and everyone has a right to lose it here or there, it’s just let’s try and remember what we have had so far under Klopp. This martial guy, poor lad hasn’t celebrated in 7 years.

Come on martial, let out all the things you wanted to but couldn’t say since Fergie, ya poor fellow 😛

How many league titles has Liverpool won in those 7 years? You do realize we won the same number of trophies since Fergie, ya poor fellow 😛

After 23 games this season, Liverpool (40) now have 27 fewer points than they did at the same stage last season (67), the biggest drop by any reigning champion at this stage of a campaign in English top-flight history. The hole Aston Villa opened at Liverpool’s mentality is huge. Liverpool are not the same after that beautiful 7-2 battering. “Mentality monsters” my back… 😂

Even if we get one of the new centrebacks up to speed and onto the pitch that still leaves probably Fabinho at centreback.
A works class midfielder playing outta position.

Nahh mate… its impossible to expect the lads to perform the same when we don’t have any defenders…

Losing a player like Van Dijk is equal to losing about 10-15 points over the season, we were never going to perform without him to the same standard as last season…

Then we lose both Gomez and Matip and some here still expect the team to perform the same…

There is a great excuse! Many serious injuries somenthing which Utd and City do not have and especially latter did not have last season.

So the latter being City??? Really fella? Allow me to update you. We let Kompany go and didn’t replace him (lovren) we lost Laporte for most of the season (VVD) we lost Stones injured constantly and didn’t play much (Matip) we also had Aguero out for over half the season, DeBruyne had spells out twice, Mendy didn’t really play for first half of season due to cruciate come back and Jesus did his knee for months. We had to play Fernandinho at CH and an 18 year old Garcia. But hey lad, don’t let the truth get in the way of a good lie eh!!!! Fooking joker

I wouldn´t compare Lovren to Kompany but I get your point goatistuta, last season I was pretty sure you were out of the race from the start… Losing your captain is a big deal, especially one as influential as Kompany… Its Murphy´s law actually, anything that can go wrong will go wrong…

Its obvious that we are headed into a transition right now, some players will be fazed out while we wait for others… Its gonna be a big summer but we just need to calm down and focus on top four right now, we make that happen and then we can capitalize in the market next summer…

I´m eager to see what Klopp and Edwards are gonna build now, most of the lads are right over here, we need to think about the future because a lot of our player are going to leave in the next two seasons…

I highly doubt that everybody that has a contract until 2023 will stay beyond that.

It helps when you finish with more points than Utd have ever achieved. How many points did we finish ahead of ye in the end again? Enjoy it while it lasts 🙂

Interesting take here particularly the amount of mins played not just this season but since 2018. We’ve paid the price for not freshening up the squad at the appropriate times.

There’s no doubting that LFC (this isnt just about Klopp) should have not only replaced Lovren after he left but planned to replace him long before that. Ages ago I brought up the subject of Lovren and Matip being unreliable. Matip is obviously a very high level player when fit but you can’t rely on him. Lovren wasnt terrible but he drove me mad, he however was of course pretty unreliable physically too.

The discussion at the time was to replace with top quality and I made the point that really, just replace him with someone who doesn’t get injured a lot. They wouldnt have to be a world class player, just someone who is there, fit and ready. The club have definitely failed to plan this out properly.

Of course it isn’t just Klopp, it’s Edwards and FSG here too, probably more-so. Or maybe Klopp was given the choice of getting Thiago after he suddenly became available, or that Lovren replacement and he made a judgement call? If the last one were the case then he still should have gone after a Davies type player who cost next to nothing, or this other guy on a loan deal, in order to have that cover for the season, until you can afford to replace Lovren with a reliable squad member.

It’s all waffle though because whatever about anything, we are here now, with the injuries we have now and there is clearly so much more going on there too. As for City though Pinezes, they did have a fair few injuries to deal with over the last 2 years. They are dealing with some key ones right now. Our problem is we’re dealing with a lot more than just injuries. We’re clearly burnt out on top of that. City burnt out last season and are back now, hungry again. We’ll be back too, let’s just cross our fingers and hope that it won’t take a whole season. The CL is still there to be won or challenged for anyway.

We will have Jota back in a few weeks, who is hungry/not burnt out. He’ll add goals and his enthusiasm might spread through-out the team, who just look flat these days.
