This match-up (along with Everton) I dread every season.

Home or away, no matter what the form, you can, with some degree of confidence, put us down not to win either game.

Last season it took a substitute in Xherdan Shaqiri to secure the points with a late double after allowing Lingard to equalize after Mane put us one up. That was our first win against them in 8 league games since the Gerrard and Suarez show in March of 2014.

United head into this game buoyed from a 4-0 win over the dreadful Norwich at the weekend but also us, from that tiring 1-0 win at Spurs.

I thought that game was the perfect opportunity for Milner to come on if he was fit and replace either Gini (my choice) or Henderson. We afforded Spurs so much space in midfield in that second half. Gini especially lost all pace which didn’t help Robbo’s cause who, himself, had a Moreno-esque type game hence Klopp’s bollocking when he turned his back on a cross which nearly led to an equalizer. But, I can also see the starting line-up the same as the Spurs game with maybe Fabinho replacing the ineffective Ox if available. Again, another great match for Naby to start but he is where he usually is. A regular training week with rest will certainly help the players and staff.

United’s away form has been pretty piss poor all season with the exception of course of that 2-1 win at City (red flag for us).

A draw would not surprise me in the slightest but I think we will win this 2-0 and, carrying on this month’s Neighgbours theme, so says Bouncer the dog.

I’m really looking forward this game, I’m expecting a good solid performance, I really want to beat Utd into submission. 3-0 win with Gomez or Van Dijk popping up with the first goal.

What worries me a lot are the continuous injuries which have limited Klopp’s choices a lot. The players can not rest. From the 6 midfielders the 3 are out.

Disagree about Winji rob. Our best midfielder on sat and got mom on a lot of Liverpool
Websites I read over the weekend mate

He looked tired mate And was struggling to get back once but in the 88yh min was still in spurs box trying to get on the end of a cross

Be no suprise to see lalanna start as he did well when he came on

Fabhino is back full training so be interesting to see what happens with him.
Massive game and I fancy us to win

Always a tricky game but anfield be rocking

I initially gave Alisson MOTM but amended it to Gini. I thought he was excellent and it’s understandable that players might be showing some tiredness after the past month. They’ve got a whole week now, so they should largely be recuperated for this.

It’s not a fixture that I ever look forward to anymore either though. The quality of football on display is usually very poor but we just want 3 points here and they are in our way.

I always say it when this game comes up and am usually wrong but I can see us winning here. Some day one of these games will come and the typical dumbing down that we see happening, will cease to be and we’ll absolutely blow them away. Will it be this time. like I thought it would the last time and the time before that etc etc… Honestly, I’m less bothered by it now, I just want the 3 points. Obviously we care about suspensions and injuries but aside from that, I just want the win so we can forget about Utd and maintain course.

I didn’t say Gini had a bad game; he just got found wanting on several occasions in the second half which nearly cost us. Milner replacing him (like he did at home to Spurs) would’ve have helped our left side better, defensively.

Full week to recover and rest.
I don’t expect many changes from last game except for maybe Lallana starting instead of Ox.
We probably won’t see Shaq, Fabinho or Matip start until the FA Cup game.

Lallana is the only change I’d make. Gomez will have to play better than he did the last day if he’s to keep Matip out of the team but having only conceded I think 1 goal in 10 since he came into the first team, this season is pretty amazing.

If that stat is wrong, apologies, I forgot where I read it.

Liverpool have to be very wary in this game. United will do everything, and raise their game, to derail our title challenge.

They will even bring Ferguson along to manage the team.

Thus if we go ahead we must take the chance to destroy them completely, here’s hoping this happens.

Team picks itself really, same lineup as last week, unless Fabinho is ready to play

If Rashford is out, even more chance to crush them absolutely, we must take this opportunity

Not sure I believe anything about Rashford lads as the same was said about de gea in October and he started.

If he starts then my only concern is utd on the break as we only play with two at the back at times.

Still we are full of confidence and anfield will be rocking and I’m
    Expecting a win

He ćame on as a sub and went off again 16mins later 4 days before the game.
While it may not defo confirmed he’s out, if it was one of our players I’d be pretty confident he wouldn’t be playing.
I don’t think Utd can gamble on Rashfords long term fitness by forcing him to play 1 game against us. They’ll need him fit and firing if they have any chance of finishing top 4. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

United are fucked, we should be able to ship a few goals past them and without Rashford they simple do not possess a goal threat. 3-0 win

I don’t know why, but I just can’t gather the confidence for this fixture. I don’t think we will lose, but we don’t seem to play well in this fixture in recent times, and I just see a frustrating afternoon coming our way. I would love a 3 nil win, but for some reason I see a late winner or equaliser from us. I’m going to predict a 2-1 win, after a pretty poor display.

Bingo, I agree, Rashford missing (potentially – but still think he’ll start) removes a big goal threat for them but Martial has still been scoring frequently, Greenwood likes a pop and even Mata’s been contributing lately too. Plus, if there was ever a game for young Daniel James to end his goal drought then this is the perfect occasion.

There is still bad blood boiling from last season, one bump to the hip and Rashford would be out for the month, they are not gonna risk him… Utd’s season blew up after their game against us last season, they threw everything at us and got the bloody point but they annihilated themselves. They are weak in spirit and we just need to kick their teeth in, I expect a riot from our lads, have a look at their page over here… its one pessimistic read, hilarious but pessimistic.

Bingo I hope your right but I think Rashford will start. Heard this all from ole before.

Maguire supposed to be out for weeks then starts last weekend

I really hope you are right about 3-0 but I think it be a scrappy horrible tight game
