Are these good enough? Both have played upfront and on the wings. Rashford will go through a patch where he scores then just turns into a retard for weeks on end. I mean that run through the middle summed him up, he never had the confidence to take it properly, nor did he have the brain to pick out Cavani who went totally ape shit. Martial I just don’t know what to make of him, his first couple of years he had really quick feet in the box where he would dance pass a few players and just side foot into the far corner.

    Any thoughts?

You know my thoughts already on this subject mate, neither are good enough to get us to the next level by a million miles. Problem is I don’t think Ole is even thinking of dropping either one of them, never mind showing Martial in particular the OT exit door next summer, so unfortunately it will be the same story again next season as well.

Martial does not have the stomach or desire to ever be a consistent match winning goal scorer.
Rashfords decision making and composure has not improved in 3 years and that may very well suggest it never will. That being the case, he will forever be a boom and bust player.
Very difficult to win the big prizes with players who are as inconsistent as this duo – mind you, their league form this season has been consistently poor. JM is reknowned for not being a forwards coach and if Ole is, he is not seeing training ground work reaping any dividends for this pair either.
Its no coincidence we’ve lost 5 semi’s when you simply cant hang your hat on this pair scoring when you really need them to, like a Vardy, Kane, Aguero, Haaland, Messi, Ronaldo…..

Rooney and Tevez weren’t what you would call prolific. But when they weren’t scoring they were working their bollocks off and creating panic for opposition defences. They’re the type of strikers even when not scoring still contributed in other ways.

no fan of martial and would sell and replace him in a heartbeat but genuinely think rashford has the ability to become one of the very best players in the world. even when he is playing badly he makes things happen. up to him though, after this season and next there will be no more debate. one way or another we will know because he is not a pup any more.

Keep Rashford, happily sell Martial if good offer came in. Good player but doesn’t have the mentality to make it at the very top level

Martial is in his mid 20’s now and it’s time to admit he’s never going to be the player we hoped he might. Rashford can still play off the left for this team but i seriously doubt he’ll ever be the player the hype suggested he might be. Keys parts of his game like decision making and composure just aren’t there.

I’d still look to bring Sancho in for the right money and move Martial on. We also need to get a top centre forward and someone to look after the ball in midfield. But that’s for another thread.

I’d sell Martial tomorrow, and Pogba, and buy Grealish and a striker to score 20+goals a season.Getting rid of the oldies and the deadwood,I.e.Mata,Matic,James,JLingz,should enable us to get another top midfielder.

Rashford: There is definitely potential to be a top player there but he has to improve his decision making and final ball; when he’s on it he is very difficult to play against however he needs to do it more consistently. At the very least he puts the effort in.

Martial: Similar to above but he, unfortunately, doesn’t put the same amount of effort in.

I would keep Rashford and sell Martial and bring in a top striker (Haaland, Kane)

@mufc – There is absolutely no comparison between Rooney and Tevez to these two fuckers mate, they were light years ahead of the pair of them. Not just with work rate, but in every single aspect of their game as well.
Good luck those of you hanging on to the vain hope that Rashford is somehow going to manage to actually grow a few football brain cells anytime soon, and I genuinely hope you are proved right, but I reckon I’ve got just as much chance of getting an invite round to Ronaldo’s gaff in Madeira to service the gorgeous Georgina Rodriguez!😂😂

Martial is way of the pace this season no doubt about it. He was very good last season though, as was Rashford. Rashford has kicked on and Martial hasn’t so a decision will have to be made – I’d have Haaland over him in a heartbeat!
Rashford had 23 g/a in 29 games this season before yesterday. I think he’s doing alright.

Blacky – My point was what they both contribute when they’re not scoring. Even without banging goals in they still impact games in other ways.

“Rashford has kicked on”, hahahaha. I’d hate to see the fucker have a bad run then! Fact is, either he or Martial could have been hooked at HT in any of our last few games, they have been truly horrendous, and I predicted correctly even before the game yesterday that if Rashford started up top we wouldn’t score a goal, rather than him being our “main threat”.😂😂

That’s 6 games now against our biggest domestic rivals so far this season, and guess what we haven’t scored a single fucking goal from open play against any of them, and have just one solitary penalty across all those games, that’s fucking diabolical.
Someone has to be to blame for such a pathetic return, simple as that.

Simple Rashford and Martial came on the scene how do you think they’ve progressed? Rashford compared to his first few years. Is it me or is he unable to beat players anymore? I remember Martial when he used to be in the box, he’d take 2 players out with really quick feet. Now it seems neither of them can players anymore.

Good question, which is another reason why he won’t be sold this summer. Ole will give him at least another season to prove this one was just a ‘one off’. Even though the overwhelming majority of us have realised by now that it’s far more like the norm.

Changing the subject slightly, if Martial isn’t sold this coming summer and either Diallo steps up or we bring in a top RW (Sancho?) should we consider loaning out Greenwood next season?

He’d improve mentally if taken out of his comfort zone but more importantly playing week in – week out as a no. 9 would be great for him

People were saying “Who would buy Pogba” a month ago – now his price has doubled!
    All a bit fickle innit.
