I wish I could say that I am shocked at the result. I wish I could say it was unexpected. I wish I could say I am angry or disappointed.

I am a Leeds fan and always will be and this is my lot.

This, result is a par for the course for this team and this Head Coach. We showed a little something, I grant you, in pulling back a 2-goal deficit with only 10 men. However, when we took the lead and then decided or had to defend it, I am afraid it was a lost cause. Indeed, had we got anything out of this game it would have simply and temporarily papered over the cracks.

There are some very fundamental things that are not right with my Leeds United IMHO. As much as I appreciate all the good that Andrea Radrizzani has done with the foundations of the Club but in other matters he really needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

The first of these matters is the player recruitment record thus far. We have brought in a load of rubbish (with the exception of Samu Sáiz) for the First Team squad and another bunch of younger players that may or may not come through the ranks but are deemed not to be ready for the First Team. That was in the Summer and, arguably, so far, are doing the same in this Transfer Window. Surely, he must be asking Victor Orta what the heck he is playing at. There is a difference between trust and blind faith.

The second of the matters is Thomas Cluelessen. He might be a very nice person but what he is not is a Head Coach that is good enough to ply his trade in the Championship. His team selections, formations and tactics are baffling and frankly puddled. I can concede that he does not have a squad of players that are remotely good enough but I reckon if you gave him a full and complete tool bag he would blunt, break, misuse everything in it without necessarily understanding what each of the tools is meant to do! To see all that arm waving and pointing on the touchline demonstrates that the players on the pitch have not been properly prepared in training before a match and have no idea what they are supposed to be doing on the pitch during a match. I have thought that TC should be ditched since October 2017. He really does need to be shown the door. I wonder if AR is going to stick with this inept Head Coach.

As regards this match against Milwall, everyone should have known what to expect but we were ill prepared yet again. Our defence was bullied and pulled all over the place by Morison (Morison FFS!) and the incredulous look on Calamity Cooper’s face when he got sent off was laughable. Someone should tell him that when you are not good enough to control a ball and you go flying in thigh high with both feet off the ground to cover your shortcomings there is no argument or defence when you get a red card. Another Pillock in the squad! Lardsogga got two goals but in the first quarter hour he missed with a free header and with a one on one with the keeper.

Hull next on Tuesday. Another defeat looming!

We still need 2 more points for me not to worry about “R”. 😊

Wow – what a game – football doesn’t half drag you through the emotions and I really felt them all Saturday, jubilation, despair the lot.

I have been reading a lot of the feedback from Leeds fans since Saturday night and I think you are being pretty harsh on your team.
Millwall are actually much better team than our league position suggests and we have beaten some of the ‘better’ teams in the Championship so far this season. Whist yes it was our first away win of the season, it should really have been our 3rd or 4th as we have been playing well and have either just missed too many chances (Villa) or had some horrendous refereeing go against us (QPR). At home we have been very god and dare I say consistent.

Obviously the sending off had a huge impact on the match, not going to say that’s why we won as we are already ahead when the red card came out and we were already well on top.

You have to give your side enormous credit for the second half come back, yes we sat back and invited pressure on ourselves with some kamikaze defending and poor concentration but you still had to do the work and score the goals. The last 5 minutes were more of a reflection of our superb fitness levels we have shown this season and you playing with ten men. I am delighted with the character our boys shown. I am confident we will stay up this season now and that is tremendous credit to us considering the millions being spent elsewhere and the budget we remain on.

Also glad we were able to travel to Leeds again in numbers now the ridiculous voucher scheme was removed and it was great the day passed relatively trouble free.

It certainly was a great advert for Championship football – al the best for the rest of the season

I take nothing away from Milwall. This was an excellent away victory for them.

My comments about my own Club are tempered by the fact that we have so little in the way of leadership and character in the club. There seems to be a lack of any sort of appetite for rolling up sleeves and getting stuck in and nor is there any indication of the ability to play a decent quality and standard of football. The Team looks like a bunch of strangers thrown together rather than a cohesive unit and we are past the mid-way point in the season. We play more in hope rather than expectation and the worst of it is that there is no sign that things are going to improve any time soon.

There was (yet another) false dawn when we hit the top of the League in the first couple of months. It was early days I know but we should have been looking to steadily improve and consolidate our position so that we would be still in the running for something at the fag end of the season. Instead we seem to have gone steadily backwards and looking likely to have to settle for mid-table somewhere with nothing to play for within a month or so.

It’s great to see a view from a different pair of eyes.

I understand your frustations, but I still say any team who can come back from 2 goals down to lead 3-2 with ten men must have something about them.

Even Neal Harris started his press conference with “First and foremost, I want to say well done to Leeds. Thomas’ (Christiansen) boys in the second half were fantastic”.

When you look at Wolves and Derby, expecting to keep pace with those two is a hell of a big ask and your are still very much in the play off picture.

Just think where you were a few years ago. You now have your ground back under ownership, crowds are up and you are investing in the team. A far cry from the last 10 years of supporting Leeds 🙂

    Thanks for your observations NOLU.

It is interesting to see matters in another context. Yes I agree that we are in a better place than we were a decade ago. Before the season started back then the Football league hit us with a 15 point deduction as looked toward starting life in League 1. Ken Bates was the apparent Owner and Denis Wise was the Manager.

    O……M…….G!

The thing is though you get immersed and completely focussed on your own team and desperately want it to do well. All the more difficult for those of us with the memories that stretch back to the Don Revie days, even the Howard Wilkinson times and the all too brief sparkle of the David O’Leary episode. There were some very high highs back then. The hard times now really do bite. I guess we hanker for those better times even though they seem more unlikely with each passing Season.

Somehow I will try to be more positive and look on the bright side of life. I confess that 10 years ago I was half convinced that Leeds United were on the edge of an abyss and would cease to exist in the foreseeable future. And yet we still are.

So I say Keep the Faith. WAL
