His English is even better than the written interpretation panel at the bottom. 😅

Not a bad first interview at all! I’m intrigued and excited to see what our football will be like under Sarri. I keep reminding myself to keep my expectations in check!

I thought Maurizio handled himself very well in the Press Conference.

Having fun and being bored and uninterested in the transfer market preferring to improve the players at his disposal will surely appeal to Roman.😊

I think we might all enjoy the ride too!😊

I see Zola has now been officially appointed assistant coach. Anyone know in what capacity or seniority?

Blueowner, all the reports suggest Zola is No 2 to Sarri?

Just an impression I get about mr Sarri is he’s as determined as conte. Good he speaks English, good tone to his interviews and I think he’s quite a steeled hardened individual.

I seriously hope he has everyone singing from the same page by our first away game. We’ve got some exciting talent at the club. Those wanting to leave should consider that as competition.

Enjoy the weekend everyone. Countdown has begun for the season for me. Proper excited. Common the Chelsea!

Everyone seems to want to focus on the fact that he is yet to win anything in his career. Surely you could not get better motivation than that…!!!

Hopefully he can not only prove the doubters wrong and win something but also do it with a degree of style. That would really give the press/media a hard time….!! KTBFFH

1905, football fans are too quick to judge.

Sarri was a latecoomer to football never at a top club and worked with limited resources at Napoli yet he had them playing some great football and they pushed the mighty Juve all of the way in Series A last season.

Sarri needs time he’s still missing circa a third of his squad , still trying to build the right squad and attempting to completely change the way Chelsea play none of that happens overnight.

Klopp has been at Liverpool for three years in October and won nothing and he’s lost three Finals on the trot with Liverpool and lost 6 consecutive Finals overall but he’s building something and getting there.

Hopefully both the Board and the fans demonstrate to Sarri a bit of patience.

Quite pleased with what I have seen of Sarri to date. Especially liked the fact he told Courtois agent he was not prepared to listen to his “demand” but wanted to speak directly to the player…!!

The guy is going to need time to get his methods and logic across and taking into account it looks as though we still have business to conduct in the market this makes it extremely difficult for him so agreed – lets hope both fans and the board show the guy some patience. KTBFFH

Credit where it’s due… leave this
One here for the morning read. We’re there any bids? If so, big thanks mr Willian for staying. Hoping when Pedro, hazard and Willian are in the side it’ll be very quick tight play going forward. Looking forward to it! Bring in the arsenal. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45173770

Interesting but scary piece of trivia for the fans and Sarri to consider:

The last three newly appointed Chelsea managers to start the season with back-to-back wins went on to win a title. Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. Mourinho did it in his first spell there, too

    Fingers crossed….!! KTBFFH

Don’t want to complain but I feel sad that a young brilliant prospect like HOD and even RLC cannot even make the bench. HOD looks more impressive than Willian or Pedro though to be fair to Pedro he is getting goals. I always feel that senior players are getting preferential treatment despite their lack of contribution. At this rate we going to lose them all.

Blueowner, I share your concerns there too. Not so much for Hudson-odoi because he is one of 4 wingers and we play with 2. He will get plenty of games even if he only starts league cup and europa league games.

I am more worried about Ruben because kante and jorginho have 2 of the 3 midfield positions nailed down leaving one space for one of cesc, barkley, kovacic or ruben. (although when cesc fit he may be back up to jorginho’s position) At this point it seems barkley and kovacic are ahead of ruben and to be fair I think I would rather him go on loan in europe somewhere this season than play for our reserves.

I was hoping that RLC would have a run in starting eleven with jorginho and kante and make himself a regular but it does not look likely and I fear we will lose him. Rather we let him go on loan, if he comes back even better then we either keep kovacic and let barkley go our we dont pursue permanent deal with kovacic so ruben and barkley can fight for that one position.

Happy with everything I have seen with sarri though, he is cool, calm and seemingly a very rational man. The fact that our crazy last 15 of first half against arsenal didnt continue in second half is also very positive too as it shows his ability to reorganise and regain control.

It is a squad game with the sheer number of games that Chelsea will play this season with Premiership 38, Europa up to 10, League Cup and FA Cup another 10 odd and the danger of injuries and/or burn out there will be plenty of opportunity for those that remain. I don’t think Cesc will play a part at all as I reckon he will be too slow and therefore a liability. Jorginho can do everything Cesc does and more, Ruben will get his opportunities to impress and Sarri has already given Hudson the green light regarding his future. Two games into the real season and I think Sarri wants to take minimal risk, especially when he is trying to bed in a new system. Look at how shaky we looked defensively whilst the players get used to the part they play in the system. We are 2 wins out of 2 while learning to ply the trade – apprentices basically. Time to be patient and have faith in the manager.
