YB, I’m not sure the media know anymore than we do about the current state of play with Rudiger all anyone really knows is that there are negotiations going on between the Club and Rudiger’s Management and they would almost certainly be confidential.

The easy thing is to give Rudiger whatever he wants say the suggested £225k pw but he will be 29 in a couple of months and potentially say a 5 year contract takes him to 34 and will he be the same player then or towards the end of any new contract not forgetting Rudiger’s form was patchy before Tuchel came in.

I think we have to bear in mind is that whatever we might ultimately agree with Rudiger is likely to have a knock on effect on the negotiations with other players new contracts coming up for negotiation like Mason Mount etc etc etc and the Club has to do not only what they can to try and retain Rudiger but also the right thing for the Club overall taking the above into account.

I think we also have to take into account that players are all powerful now and the very best can run down their contracts in the certainty that another top Club will offer them a very lucrative contract look at players like Dybala,Mbappe and Pogba etc currently available on free transfers.

Personally I would like Rudiger to stay and on the positive side Rudiger could have signed a pre contract with another team already he hasn’t and he’s said how happy his family are in London so here’s hoping.🤞

But in the final analysis if it doesn’t work out we just have to move on and I’m pretty sure the Club will have a plan b in that event. Cheers 9’s

Interesting yet not totally surprising YB. Given FFP was passed in 2009 and implemented in 2011 Ron Gourlay had to look at the restrictions and come up with legitimate forms of income streams to compensate for our restricted income from gate receipts. Which is why Monaco are 2nd in the table, very same issue.

Which is also all the more concerning the number of players we have the minute who are running their contracts down. The 3 defenders are well publicised, but I think the likes of Bakayoko,Drinkwater,Baba Raman, Batshuayi, Miazga contracts all expire this June which is not only a loss of potential loan income, but sales income too.

    Wisefan,

I see you spreading misinformation that the club have no plan. Well, the club have got a plan, because otherwise we wouldn’t have won 17 trophies in 19 years.

Chelsea is one of the best run clubs in the world, thanks to the same people who you keep attacking for not having a plan are the ones who generated £1.016bn in player sales alone, forget about our other sponsorship and income from our trophies and staduim. That doesn’t give an impression that they are people who have no plan, on the contrary it shows people who are not only clever, but also have a very good plan for the present and the future.

This season, we are competing for 5 trophies, because we are in the PL race on paper. And we have a good chance of winning some of them. We also have an excellent blend of young and experienced squad, so assuming we retain our squad most will enter their prime in the coming years. We also have one of the best coaches in Europe in Thomas Tuchel, i don’t know what else i could have wished for.

young blue 🙂 I am just an interested viewer from here on in when it comes to those repetitive claims. For myself and others around here it is beyond nauseating. Broken record stuff from someone looking for a reaction. Hopefully you will receive a response and some decent sensible debating will be the end product but I doubt it. I watch on with interest.

Just following on from YB’s post on relation to sales income.

Has there ever been anymore talk about the renovation or relocation from Stamford Bridge? I know it all went quiet with RA’s Visa issues, but has anyone heard any more talk recently.

Forgiving the pun here but a word to the wise.

Remember you cannot believe all you read in the papers. Clubs do not make their negotiations public, agents might, however they may be more than liberal with the truth to benefit themselves …. and sometimes the players.

Courtois forced the clubs hand by going on strike and they handled the situation in the easiest way possible.

    Hazards was a straightforward transfer.

Time for me to hold my hands up guys, the additional players I stated as potentially having contracts expiring I misread, in some cases it in their loan contracts …my bad and I apologise accordingly.

Right better get some work done as I am clocking off early to get the backside in front of the TV at 4.00.

Yes the development has been on hold since Match 2020. No doubt the visa refusal the catalyst and throwing in that Covid-19 came into play at that same time or just before now with everything returning to some kind of normal is probably the right time to ask that question. The question would be then has his visa issue been resolved?

Lack of clarity on the net would suggest not.

October last year the following happened:

CHELSEA owner Roman Abramovich has returned to London for the first time in three years. The 54-year-old’s entrepreneurial visa expired in April 2018, but having obtained an Israeli passport later that year, the oligarch has been able to get back to visit his family.

It would appear not and he probably has decided that he no longer wants to invest in England having been rejected. His love for the football club though appears as solid as ever..

Earlier we discussed the Frank Lampard appointment and positive vibes with their FA Cup effort. There I said that they need that sort of result with three points up for grabs. I watched the Newcastle match today and there was little sign of a new manager bounce and that is worrying. Geez I hope Frank doesn’t regret taking this on. If Everton drop he’ll be in a very uncomfortable position and may be gone as early as the end of May. That I think would rock his confidence off the back of the sacking at Chelsea.

“Chelsea Football Club announces today that it has put its new stadium project on hold. No further pre-construction design and planning work will occur.

The club does not have a time frame set for reconsideration of its decision.

The decision was made due to the current unfavourable investment climate.”

The above is the original official statement from the Club re the postponement of the new Stadium.

Given the impact of Covid on the economy and indeed the Club’s last net financial results a £153m loss I don’t think the investment climate has improved add to that the political pressures relating to Russia over Ukraine and I can’t see the plans for building a new Stadium being advanced anytime soon.

It’s a mountain for Frank to climb but Clubs don’t appoint new Managers when everything is going swimmingly they appoint them when there are problems Frank knew exactly what he was walking into.

When Frank has a full squad to call upon together with all the recent signings hopefully he’s got enough there to steer Everton clear of relegation but it’s not going to be easy.

Granted 999 but a fair percentage of manager changes have, as I said, an instant ‘new manager bounce’ and a string of good results. I know that was only his first ‘three point’ game but the opponent was Newcastle, themselves languishing a little and the performance was not that of an enthusiastic side and I find that worrying. Yes, players to come back and yes there is quality there but we are up to around 25 matches played and they are already where they are for a reason and I am not sure to what extent one can look at Rafael Benitez and point the finger. He himself is no mug as a coach/manager so a great percentage of the blame must lay with the players. I did say that the influence of Duncan Ferguson at the club may not be ideal as I think he wanted that job and I am fairly sure the fans would have been rooting for him to get it too. Maybe not ideal for Frank. I may well be wrong, time will tell.

Girioud who cost nothing cause he was with us and we got rid of him is scoring goals for fun at AC, 2 goals per almost every game, it’s the clubs money not ours but we also don’t like to see them wasting their money so often. I personally don’t believe Everton have a too good squad and Lampards in for a battle, same with Conte and Spurs for their CL ambition.

67, the Rafa situation at Everton was toxic he had to go. Frank took the Everton job with his eyes wide open knowing all the circumstances. As I said Frank has got a mountain to climb hopefully it works out for him this season and he can put his rebuilding plans into action in the Summer if not…..?

yeah so happy for Frank. Huge win that. On another topic, how come all of a sudden Teamtalk wants me to join up to read their articles? It tells me I have reached a 6 article limit. Is being registered to chat on here not good enough? What if I do sign up. Is there a fee or what. Are you familiar with this requirement and any background info 999? Cheers.
