Sess is out for the ‘Pool game at least. Wonder who TP will replace him with? My choice would be McManaman if it’s 451 or Lambert in a 442. Knowing Mr Safety First though I expect he’ll go with Gardner. Will Yacob return and Evans go back in defence with Olsson missing out or will we field last week’s team? Hard one that. What I’d like to see is the forward movement we had against Arsenal and Spurs cause if we sit back against ‘Pool we’ll get punished. Fortunately Sturridge is out so that’s one threat less.

Northwich it seems to me McManaman is stuck on the bench, why i dont know, but TP has his favour players.Think he will bring Evans back in defense and Yacob in on his usual place and Gardner in for Sess in a 4-5-1 formation. If we play like we did against Arsenal and Spurs i think we can get something from this match, but Liverpool are huge favorites.COYB.Norway baggie

Macca won’t play, more chance of Willie Johnson turning out. Gardner will deputise with Evans retaining the midfield birth and Yacob on the bench. He won’t mess with a team that to be fair to him played well against Spurs so I can understand that even thou not agreeing with it. We will get beat thou unless we can hold out for our usual 0-0. One change he just might make is Lambert in for Rondon cus he does believe in players making impacts against there former clubs so don’t be surprised to see him in from the start, just a thought.

Northwich, reluctantly would have to agree with u regards the forward movement being much much better against Spurs and Arsenal so I’m gonna give credit where it’s due there to TP, humble pie on the table at mine for the moment and hopefully long may it continue, maybe just maybe a return to my beloved seat in the Brummie might beckon for me, I do miss it. Having said that I can’t stay away as only missed two games at home anyway this season thus far with friends and corporate days aiding my defiance to TP.

Liverpool fan in peace! Ronnie – just reading your posts, and I gather you’re not a fan of Pulis! Is it just the style of football, because from the outside he seems to have done a reasonable job for you. He’s kept you pretty clear of relegation and there’s no way you’ll go down this season. A genuine question…what constitutes a good season for you, as I would have thought the top 7 or 8 would be difficult to break in to? Having said that I’ve realised that’s rubbish with both Leicester and Palace happily in the top 6…but you get my point? WBA have been a yo-yo club for a while but that appears to have stabilised recently.

Anyway won’t get to see your reply till later as off to the game now. I’m predicting a draw – Pulis is perfect at frustrating us, and we haven’t found a way of using Benteke properly yet. So let’s hope for a good game (no chance!!). Look forward to your reply re pulis!

Not aimed at me but I can’t resist a response. Pulis is the anti-Christ of attractive football. I realise that the days of all teams in the top tier setting out to win the title are long gone and that today the name of the game is simply survival but what does this leave for a club like ours? Only the style by which we achieve it and the pleasure it gives to those of us who are there forever – thick or thin. I have found none in the Pulis era. Of course he will keep us up and next year we shall be playing the same defensive, unattractive, unenjoyable stuff that is a mark of all his teams whilst paying a token lip service to trying to win a cup with our reserve players? Its not fun Hightown.

I have mixed feelings about TP similar to those I had with Megson. They both did what we wanted but the style of play was definitely lacking in style. With TM and RDM we had attractive football and we scored goals but unfortunately our defence wasn’t that good. If we could marry TP’s defensive play with the attacking play of RDM or TM then I think that we would have a side regularly in the top ten. Both Leicester and Palace have shown that if you get the ball up to the front players quickly you’ll score goals. Both are probably punching well above their weight but it’s down to managerial philosophy and the determination of the players (plus a bit of skill!).

Hightown. You are correct in your assumption of my distaste towards TP. After 30 odd years of holding a season ticket this year I relinquished the golden egg. This was in response to TP’s appointment and football philosophies neither of which I like. I’m sorry but for me the whole point of my support of the Albion is to be entertained in a way which for the most has always been attractive open honest football. Neither of these are ever apparent with the current regime. I understand the need to be in the fat cows league and all the trappings that go with it so to a degree I sympathise with our chairmanship. Didn’t see today’s game but I know how it would have gone, Pool would have add at least 70% possession and countless shots compared to our measly efforts at your goal. Some will be happy with the point as I am but as a spectacle I bet it was dire to watch, sad thing is thou the majority of Albion fans now accept this as the norm, for me I never will and look forward to the day the Anti Football Christ departs.

Well I was right with my prediction of a draw! The game yesterday went exactly according to script. You are strong where we are weak…at set pieces

And I see what you guys mean about your style of play. I’m typing this while watching Leicester playing some really nice football against the League Champions (!!!). You were only ever going to score yesterday at set pieces but you can’t blame Pulls encouraging his teams to win free kicks and corners. That’s where you are strong. It’s a shame though…I remember Cunning ham and Regis in the late 70s. Now that was a proper footballing side.

Anyway thanks for your replies and I guess we’ll done yesterday. All the best.

It’s a good time to have a manager boring or not that will keep you in the premier league. We can hold onto T.P for two to three years and bring in the mass amounts of money to establish us in this league . This year with the huge amounts of money that is coming in is very important and although not pretty T.P will pretty much guarantee us that money, The last managers apart from the brilliant Roy Hodgson who started us on this path would have mad us loose out for sure. It’s going to get to the point with this kind of money where the three teams that go down will be pretty much the three teams that come right back up for the most part because the parachute payment will be massive and you will have 10 million pound players playing for you where every other team has 1 and 2 million pound players. It will also get to a point where every established premier club will be owned by billionaire owners and I’m glad we are part of it. I remember not so long back talk of us ground sharing with Milton Keynes Dons….
