Got a report yesterday which appears to have been picked up by some of the press today regarding a potential partial investor at Chelsea

Petr Kellner is a Czech billionaire reportedly worth more than 12bn who is a Chelsea executive box holder and is good friends with Roman. Apparently they are in talks regarding a partial takeover which would inject funds into Chelsea and potentially put the new ground back on the map

Sounds as though this is still early days but could be an ideal for Roman to continue to own the Club but spread his investment going forward. Not to dissimilar to what City did with the Chinese investors? Watch this space….!! KTBFFH

still not convinced that Abramovich will sell. His love to Chelsea seems really genuine

Not a complete sale – just a partial so that allows Roman to take back some funds if he cares to in view of what he perceives to be the uncomfortable current climate…? KTBFFH

    https://thisisfutbol.com/2019/03/blogs/premier-league/chelsea/ratcliffe-interested-in-buying-chelsea/

The Ratcliffe story has resurfaced true or not there does seem to be a vacuum with Roman now never being seen around the Club and I do think for the good of the Club he has to decide whether he’s in or out and demonstrate that.

Not seen at a game all season is unacceptable especially given all of our problems and accepting that there are some political issues Roman could easily have attended the away European ties without creating any issues with anyone.

I think we really need a new stadium so if it means selling so be it. Every other big club is moving forward with or without winning trophies.

I think that Roman is caught between a rock and a hard place as he never expected this visa issue to drag on for so long. While I still firmly believe that Roman is committed to Chelsea the fact he can no longer attend clearly makes it difficult for him to be as focussed as he used to be

Read previously about the Ratcliffe approach but reading today the 2.5bn is deemed too high considering that we need to build a new ground. However, it still seems that there is an interest on both sides and that potentially a deal can be done so long as a degree of compromise can be reached. KTBFFH

CFC why cant the owner attend? He is now an Israeli citizen and can enter the country whenever he wants and can therefore attend games should he choose to. What he cant do is work in the UK and therefore wouldnt be able to attend board meetings etc.
It seems to me that he has decided to take out his frustrations with the government on the club and that distance is imo having an affect on the whole club.

Gib… I think there is a lot more to the visa issue than meets the eye. All the vanity owned clubs (ie mega wealthy owners) tend to be part of a “soft power” push. Roman was the first into the market on that front and as many on here have said, has turned the club into a relatively successful venture. All credit where it is due.

Either way, the club is still trading and still competing, albeit, at a slightly lower level.

Will be more than happy to see Roman back in his box and hearing stories of him around the training ground. Regardless of what is in the background holding up his visa, he’s been a smashing owner and has given me memories that will last a lifetime and these dirty pants are grateful.

think the millions of fans world wide deserve some kind of clarity on what exactly the situation is or will be. Club is too often very secretive about it affairs.

I guess the club know his plans and he has never shown his cards in the past so why would that change now?

GIB – I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that it is not as straightforward as you imply and that Roman has to request permission to enter the UK…?

Could be totally wrong on that but my feeling is that if what you say is accurate then come hell or high water we would have seen Roman at some of the bigger games even if he could not make them all

Agree with you that he is venting at the government which is why he called a halt to the building of a new stadium. KTBFFH

RDP I agree I think Roman has been by far and away the best overseas owner of a PL club and i for one enjoyed seeing him going through the same joys and agonies as us fans. I understand his frustrations with the government and I just hope that there isn’t a long drawn out parting of the ways that would ruin his legacy at the club.
He never wanted a top 6 Europa League club but we have become that during the period that he seems to have lost that love.
I would be so happy to see him come back as only he can sort it all out – not the Board, not Marina -just the man at the top!

GIB – totally agree with you and RDP regarding Roman but I think that currently Roman and Marina go hand in hand. I think being around the Club, the training ground, speaking to players and managers alike and of course attending games is what Roman is missing and I wonder if this protracted visa issue is making him consider selling. We have, or so it is rumoured, slapped a price on the Club so it must be under consideration…?

As for hearing anything official? All I would say is whenever have you seen an official interview or report from Roman? It simply does not happen and that is the way that Roman wants it and so that has to be respected even though at times like this it is exceptionally frustrating for us fans. KTBFFH

CFC yes your right Roman and Marina go hand in hand but I think the man at the top is always going to carry more weight including turning up at training etc than his right hand woman – no matter how good she does her job.
I always practised MBWA (management by walk about) and you could sense how things were for yourself rather than an interpretation from your man or woman in day to day charge. The business of Chelsea needs its owner back!

GIB – totally agree and yet no indication from the government or Roman as to when this visa issue will be resolved. Until such time we are not going to see much of Roman in this country which is why I think he may be considering walking away….? Would be a desperate shame as he clearly has been the best and most committed overseas owner in the EPL era for me and taken me to places and heights that I never thought I would see in my lifetime. wonder what happens then to all the board members should Roman sell all or sell only his shares, it would be a pity cause its great to see a woman as one of the leaders of a football club.

Think Roman is the outright owner so no shares involved

What would anyone expect with a new owner? They are more than likely to bring in people that they know and they trust. That is not to say that people like Buck or Marina may not be retrained but clearly they are loyal to Roman and so he may want them to be used elsewhere in his empire

Some would argue that by and large we are still a successful Club, apart from this season on the pitch, but in terms of everything non football so potentially few radical changes to be made but probably more a few specific tweaks. Only time would tell on that one. KTBFFH

Since 2012, Chelsea has spent £1.07b on transfers, ranked 3rd only behind PSG (£1.09b) and Man City (£1.08b).

£64m was spent on Hazard & Kante, the only world class players in our squad.

All of that money spent and we cant even make the top 4.

The people in charge of buying players needs to removed from that job because they are doing a terrible job.
