I’m aware that this forum seems to have died off, which is a shame because there used to be a thriving community here.

Surely the announcement (finally) of a new owner and new manager is worth talking about though! There are still a lot of unknowns, but at least this news offers some much needed hope. It’s too early to judge the new owner but the promise of funds up to 50m to re-build the team is of course a positive sign.

What are peoples thoughts on De Matteo? I think under the circumstances he’s not a bad appointment. While he’s had mixed success in management he has previously brought a club up from the championship, and he has experience of winning things at the highest level.

It’ll be an exciting summer ahead, and to be honest, after the last few seasons, I’ll just be happy to see us win a few games. I’m not expecting promotion at the first attempt.

Firstly i concur with your opening comments about this forum. Secondly on the appointment of RDM, i’m sitting on the fence. What I am happy about though is having Steve Clarke and Kevin Bond in as coaches/asst managers. As a number of people have said via various other media outlets, we need a management staff who are going to ship out lazy/unprofessional/unfit/overpaid players not molly coddle them. i think Clarke and Bond will do that plus they are proven and respected coaches. To be fair to RDM, he does have a championship promotion on his cv, so fingers crossed.
