Interesting read on the new season structure and the winter break implemented for the first time where a full round will be split over two weekends giving all teams effectively a fortnight break.

Liverpool away second last game of the season might be decisive in the title chase again. Maybe we can cause Liverpool problems in that one and gain top 4 at the same time. We still have the same squad of players minus Hazard and have Pulisic. Cannot deny that Hazard is almost impossible to replace however his absence will enable others to express themselves more and, if I remember correctly we played some pretty good stuff at times in his absence. Add in class from the Loanee Department and hopefully a good amanager and we might just be there or thereabouts for European places at the tailend of the season. I like to try and be positive. We survived the loss of players like Drogba, Costa, Lampard, Terry and Ballack amongst others and we will survive the loss of Hazard. Players come and players go. One thing I am confident about and that is that defensively we will be more solid than we were playing Sarri-Ball, especially with Kante back doing what he was bought for in the first place. I also like the idea of Zouma being added to our squad and hopefully playing alongside Rudiger. A pretty solid Centre Back pairing in my opinion.

chelsea1967 we did not survive Costa IMO. He is still the missing link of our squad 2 seasons ago where we finished 5th and last season where we finished 3rd. It will be impossible to replace Hazard. As it was impossible for Man Utd to replace C Ronaldo. But we have CHO, RLC, Pulisic, young players !!

Agree Aindro but the facts say they just had a successful season, met requirements and won the Europa League with what they had, and also losing three key players late on to injury. No doubt without Hazard we were more like mid-table but we are now going in a new direction, or so it appears, there is plenty of talent to inject into our final squad from the loanee department and Pulisic too of course and as I have said on other posts I really do like the look of Rudiger and Zouma (also Luiz and Christensen in the mix too) in Central defence, Dave and Emerson as the backs with Kante doing what we bought him to do and what he is best at, in fact best in the world at. I’m excited and can’t wait for the new season to start whilst it appears many are apprehensive about it. Bring it on I say.

Hasn’t anyone noticed the Liverpool bias for the Super Cup?

Friday 9th August: Liverpool v Norwich @ Anfield
Sunday 11th August: Manchester United v Chelsea @ Old Trafford
Wednesday 14th August: Liverpool v Chelsea, UEFA Super Cup

What the f*** is this shit?! Liverpool play at home against a newly promoted team and then have 2 days extra prep/rest time!!! While Chelsea travel to Manchester and then will have to travel straight to ISTANBUL.

    F*** you Football Association

it is really unfair for us. Against Man Utd away first match and then play Liverpool midweek for the Super Cup: that’s a heavy schedule. But what can we do?

three points is more important than the Super Cup so field our strongest against United then send a second team to Istanbul – if we lose 10-0 then so be it. That is the best way to deal with it.

no where else to put this so I’ll put it here. Have a listen to Dan the Liverpool supporter going off on Talksport about the fixture list being rigged and everyone hating Liverpool. Hilarious.

The FA don’t have anything to do with the fixtures it’s all down to the PL.

Everyone has to play everybody else twice however the fixtures pop up although you have to say the way they’ve fallen on the opening day of the season gives Liverpool an unfair advantage in the European Super Cup.

Haha, that caller epitomizes everything I hate about liverpool. What is it with the constant victim mentality and the desperation for everyone to adore them? Reeks of a massive inferiority complex to me!

Don’t really care about the Super Cup, but it would be nice to beat liverpool. I agree with 1967 though, the league game against ManU is the absolute priority.

It amazes me that people still to this day call Frank Lampard “Fat Frank”

    1. he was never fat in the first place
    2. he was renowned for his professionalism and work ethic in training

I get that its tongue in cheek but the reality is it just makes people look like clowns.
