Man United to implement a new transfer strategy which will mean no players older than 28 are signed.
Completely agree, unless players 28 or older are available on the cheap or Bosman ruling. This will also include not giving new contracts to players 30 or older.i.e.Mata,Valencia,Fellaini,Young,and even Herrera @ 29!

This is not a new strategy. This was always the strategy before the Glazers rode into town. The guideline age was 26 and regarding over 30s only 1 year extensions could be given.

Yes it’s been around for a long time and so long as it’s not too rigid it’s a good idea. Seems to have been broken by giving a 2 year contact to Fellaini though

Thank God that cunt Jose is gone, otherwise we would be going after the likes of Bale,Willian,Kroos,Perisic,Aldi,Hummels,Boateng, and who knows else of has-beens for astronomical prices and wages.Cannot believe that useless twat Mata has been with us for 5 years. It hurts seeing the likes of Young,Valencia,Darmian,Rojo,Mata,Matic,Herrera,Sanchez,Fellaini, costing this great club millions of £££ every week and contributing fuck all.

You really are a tw*t redblood. Young has given absolutely everything whenever picked and actually been playing really well for a number of years now. Likewise you called Herrera the ‘c’ word the other day for no good reason. If someone isn’t give their all then they deserve abuse, if they’re maxing out their ability them give them some frigging respect. You’re typical of posters on here that called Fergie senile in his later years and even slagged off club legends like Scholes and Giggs the moment they reached 30. I’m done with this forum, its been going down here for a number of years and so have the posters.

You can fuck off big Al,you cunt.Never called Fergie a senile,or even slagged off clubs legends like Scholes,Giggs,Carrick,Rooney-just called for them to be replaced. The deserve not abuse, but to be called shite, because thats what they are-total shite.I dont give a flying fuck about players that arent good enough to be playing for United but earning millions of ££££ every year and contributing fuck all.

BigAl – Good shout mate. It was actually Zico who was calling Fergie a senile old man. But then again most scousers did hate the great man with a passion!

Redblood, RVP was 29, did you have a problem with his signing? Was you not happy he won us the league?

So if Ronaldo was 28 and was available at say £130m would you sign him?

@reblood – It’s plausible strategy not to sign players aged 28 or above for large transfer fees. However, this restrictions automatically doesn’t mean we should not sign players in their late 20’s or extend the contract of our current players who are reaching 30. Remember Laurent Blanc, Sheringham and Larson? As BigAl mentioned, Young has given everything in different positions in this team so he deserves his extension. Herrera and Matic has a lot to offer. Fellaini, Valencia, Rojo, Jones has to go.

BigAl – Well said mate. I don’t post very often anymore because of the same reasons you gave, but I have been reading these posts for roughly 10 yrs now and gone are the days of healthy discussions. Instead of that I mostly end up reading someone’s post slagging someone else off because they voiced an opinion or just someone repeatedly typing “any pictures” as if it was funny the first time.

It used to be a good forum with interesting points being made and fans deciding to either agree or disagree without any name calling. Now reading the majority of posts is like being back at primary school.

Scholesy-Not when it comes to world class players m8,but Mata,Fellaini,Young,Valencia,Jones,Smalling,Herrera, do not qualify as such.We cannot afford to become the next Arsenal and stand still, just making up the numbers. We have to challenge for major trophies, every year,we have the means. How far behind have we fallen compared to Real,Barca,PSG,City,Juve.Just how many of our players would walk into these teams? Yes,the likes of Young and Valencia have served the club, but they are not good enough to challenge for the major trophies! And yes,I was against signing the likes of RVP,Ibra,Bastian,Sanchez,Matic, etc!b Surely no United fan is happy how things are and have been for the past few years??

Lets get a few things sorted @homerjay m8,we are only fans and can only express our opinions and views regarding our beloved club,we have no influence over matters relating to our club whatsoever!
But yes,I would, especially if it leads to Rojo,Jones and Smalling gone.We then have Lindelof-who I believe has improved a great deal,Bailly and the new signing.

Agree with some of what has been written above. The forum has gone to shit since the early days when there was proper debate and banter. Things always got a bit heated but it was generally good value. A bit like being in a boozer full of reds watching the game. Lots of people with different ideas on players, systems and club in general. Loads of posters who i used to enjoy listening and debating with are long gone. Reckon the forum will die a slow death shortly anyways. Surprised its kept on going this long.

Redblood: your language – and the way you speak to others on here – needs to improve, otherwise I’ll be enforced to issue a ban.

I can only imagine how you may respond to this, but if you’d like to confirm how you’d like to proceed please….?

    Thanks – Marshy

N1xer – I think a discussion was much easier on the old format of the site, where the posts relevant to the topic just appeared directly underneath. Plus the “like” or “dislike” options were useful. Now you really need to be a lot quicker to keep up with the discussion as the pages fall over quite rapidly.

Of course there shouldn’t be a scenario where people are put off posting because of other people swearing or disagreeing. That’s shit if people feel like that. I have to hold my hands up and say that i go too far at times (normally on the train home from a night out in London when pissed up!). But i generally only “banter” the people who i know can take it and who give it back to me. Typically Zico, Mac & Blacky and, even then, i do think they have valid points a lot of the time.

That’s a shame that people leave the site because of that reason. We’re all part of the Man Utd family as i see it. We’re all of different ages, race and creed’s and that’s why we have such a difference of opinion. Even in our own small families there are falling outs and bickering – bad language its not something that would ever put me off from posting on here. Regardless of how many times i’m called a c*nt!! 😉
