I feel a little more relaxed today knowing that Saint-Maximim likely won’t feature on Wednesday. Also, a doubt, are Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson and also Kraftf is definitely out with an ACL. Shelvey too, is long term, after a hamstring op.
–
Our last match-up at Anfield was just before Christmas when we ran out 3-1 winners after Shelvey had put them one up. Goals by Jota, Mo and Trent getting us maximum points.
–
Newcastle looked flat yesterday with Eddie Howe trying a few different combos until ASM smashed in the equaliser. Wolves created quite a few chances, but, as usual with them, goals are an issue.
–
Who will start for us? I don’t think it will vary too much from the starting line-up the other day with maybe Tsimikas coming in for Robbo?
–
I’m going for 3-0 with Diaz on the scoresheet again!August 29, 2022 at 3:20 pm #2128482Matip and Jones back in training.
This game probably comes too soon for them but we may see them on the bench.
The following game we should see significant numbers being available again.August 29, 2022 at 3:25 pm #2128484Saint-Maximim is very hot and cold. He looked world class against City but other matches he looks uninterested. I think Bruno Guimaraes would be the bigger miss, he is a good player.
August 29, 2022 at 3:29 pm #2128485Threeps, he is a bit of a jekyll and hyde kinda player for sure but still, I was sweating a bit thinking of that right side match-up.
August 30, 2022 at 10:29 am #2128653Same team as against Bournemouth, we have to win to keep momentum going until Nuñez comes back in the next game. At least Matip, Jones and Ramsay are back, to increase competition for places. Hope Jones is not the new midfielder we’ve been waiting for.
–
Alisson
Trent Gomez Van Dijk Robbo
Elliott Fabinho Henderson
Salah Firmino Diaz
–
As for our opponents, I hope the highly dangerous Saint-Maximin does not play, otherwise he will destroy Trent on our right side.August 30, 2022 at 11:25 am #2128682Ya that team. It’ll be good to have Matip back to full fitness but let’s not rush him, just in case. Ya, I kinda don’t like to see Jones back if Im honest. I want Klopp and the owners to feel the lack of quality we have in every way that doesn’t cost us points. At least until the window closes.
–
A good time to play Newcastle I suppose. Reasonably confident in a win but I don’t think the lads will take anything for granted, given the overall start to the season that we’ve had.
–
Starting Tsimikas might not be a bad idea. Robertson carrying an injury, given how he’s come off a few times?August 30, 2022 at 11:32 am #2128685Hang on Mak, we are having a midfield crisis, you’ve mentioned multiple times you want a new midfielder and when one comes back from injury you rather he actually didn’t? Not sure I follow.
August 30, 2022 at 1:27 pm #2128738If there’s 3 players I’d want missing for Newc it’s Saint-Maxim, Guimaraes and Wilson.
Although they may start with new signing Isak who we’ve previously been linked to.August 30, 2022 at 2:42 pm #2128775Saint maximin with his pace is just perfect against our high line.
August 30, 2022 at 2:44 pm #2128776Isak apparently is still awaiting international clearance. Let’s hope the carrier pigeon gets lost.
August 30, 2022 at 4:37 pm #2128821A fit Jones isn’t good enough for us right now Threeps. Just like winning 9-0 just before the transfer window closes, sometimes it’s more useful for those in charge for us to actually have a crisis and to not just say exactly what you just said to me, as a means to not get the checkbook out.
August 30, 2022 at 4:41 pm #2128822Dunno why we’re fretting so much about who Newcastle do and don’t have. They are a good team but they are also coming to Anfield. Yes, we could use a new signing and we don;t have Nunez back yet but we’ve got a far better team than Newcastle. Let them worry about who we do and don’t have.
August 30, 2022 at 5:22 pm #2128839Klopp admitted today in his presser that he’s told Diaz and Salah to get into the box more.
Music to my ears.
August 30, 2022 at 6:57 pm #2128865Mak, we are far better than Newcastle, but the game is all about ‘matchups’ so it’s important to always look at what the opposition bring too and maybe why or if Klopp changes one or two things to counter the strengths of the opposition.
August 30, 2022 at 7:29 pm #2128871Sometimes I really do wonder about the posters here, for fucks sakes… Wishing a injury on one of our own players has to be the lowest ive seen so far and you call yourself a supporter lol and complaining about a 9-0 victory as it came at a bad time… 🤯
August 31, 2022 at 12:53 am #2128955Ya, I was wishing an injury on someone and also saying how much I hated that 9-0. Go on Bingo you absolute legend.

Wonder if we’ll put a 200m bid in for Can before Thursday?… aww but it might cut into our MBappe fund… Wait, that Red Bird Deal will give us 400m to spend at 10:55 on Thursday night. They are just waiting for LeBron James’s meeting with Nike to finish, so they can pat themselves on the back for their incredible exploits and sign off on the deal you admittedly saw coming a mile away. credit where it’s due.

Ya lad, you carry on deliberately misunderstanding stuff… but leave the actual thinking to people who aren’t permanently inebriated.August 31, 2022 at 9:08 am #2128996You are wishing that Jones is still out, you are wanting him to be injured… there is no misunderstanding about it, you could have said that you wanted Jones to be fit and ready to stake a claim in the first team and have his breakout season but no, you want him injured as that is the amount of support you have for him… absolutely disgraceful
August 31, 2022 at 2:53 pm #2129166You’re a laughing stock.
August 31, 2022 at 5:22 pm #2129225Isak has got his international clearance. I expect him to start tonight and would not be surprised if he bagged one (the first likely!).
August 31, 2022 at 5:25 pm #2129226Lots of action for Carvalho this week in training. May get the nod tonight!
