Any thoughts on who is most likely to be the next manager?

For me, out of the realistic candidates, David Moyes would be a fantastic appointment, but I think he’d need assurances that he would be given adequate financial backing. The way things are currently at the club, I don’t think he’d take the job, but he would be a perfect fit for us.

Nigel Pearson is currently the frontrunner with the bookies closely followed by Mick Mcarthy. I don’t like Pearson as an individual but he is proven in the Championship, as is Mcarthy, but neither manager has fared well in the Premier League. I’d rather get someone in like Moyes who can do a job in the long term should we return to the Premier League. It makes more sense than employing a ‘Championship manager’ who will end up getting sacked when we struggle on our return to the top flight, however I think this is more likely.
