Who knows mate?, not convinced about Poch either. He’s not exactly an elite manager in my book.

Rangnick’s teams always play on the front foot. Can’t wait to see it in action. He’s bringing in an assistant but can’t see too many coaches coming in for 6 months so while Phelan will surely be out, I wouldn’t be surprised if Carrick and McKenna were to remain. The good news is that they won’t be given a fraction of the responsibility they had under Solskjaer

Very exciting news about Rangnick coming in. Wouldn’t be opposed to prolonging his contract as the manager if things go well. This is how I think he will line up the team:

    ———Ronaldo Cavani——
    Fernandes ————–Sancho
    ————Fred Vdb————–
    Shaw Maguire Varane Awb
    —————–Ddg————–

Rashford and Greenwood will generally be the first subs to be brought on but will also get a lot of starts on account of Cavani not always playing. He may use Ronaldo slightly less than Ole did after trying to rest him, but he will still have him in the first eleven.

Mctominay and to a lesser degree Matic will rotate with Fred and Vdb. I could see a role for Lingard as well, on account of his pressing and work rate ability.

Elanga and Mejbri could get some playing time in December and then perhaps go out on loan together with Amad – or stay, depending on circumstances. Elanga can play in four positions in this formation, Mejbri in three, Amad in one.

Martial and Pogba and a few others I think could be sold actually.

Overall I think we will see more rotation due to the higher pressing demands. The forwards in particular will be subbed often in order to be kept fresh.

Obviously in defense you have the obvious back-up options except for RB where I think there will be a new signing.

No new midfield signings right now because the club will wait on Rice and also because there will a renewed importance for Fred in particular, but also Vdb and Mctominay.

This is all (educated) speculation of course.

Well i´m glad he isn´t educated by the bedwetters hahaha.

Good to see Rangnick coming in with fresh ideas. I think he can do a proper job in valuate players. No more AWB´s and Maguire´s.

I think he works a very organised, but fluid, style of play. He’s built a revitalised a number of clubs over the years most notably RBL. I’d rather he didn’t stay as manager after 6 months regardless of how well he does. I want him as a proper Director of Football, overseeing everything the club does from the youngest age group up to the first team. Although he is an outstanding coach, this is his best quality and his tendency to micromanage and rejuvenate is also excellent. He doesn’t believe in people doing things just because they always have. under his watch they have to seek new ways to improve, re-educate themselves or leave.

He is certainly an exciting appointment, the club needs to get his role right for June onwards.

Thank the football gods that the Solskjaer shower is finally over.

Thank the football gods once again that Rangnick is coming in to sort out this mess as well. This is exactly what we need and if all goes well, he should eventually convince the Glazers that we need to keep him on as the Sporting Director and allow him to oversee a full coaching, scouting, and football department overhaul. This fella is so insanely competent and knowledgeable that he was the Sporting Director of both RB Salzburg and RB Leipzeig at the same time (different leagues and different countries) and still did a stellar job at both. He is the man who’s ideas revolutionized German football by removing the sweeper system (which was popular in Italian and German football) and introducing the geggenpressen (press and counter-press) which has been adopted by the likes of Tuchel, Klopp, and Guardiola in varying ways.

Out with the clueless Ol’ Boys’ club and in with real professionals with clear vision, tried and tested successful formulas, and the balls to speak about football from an intellectual viewpoint.

The man is much like van Gaal but not as dictatorial and also crucially, has a football philosophy which is in line with the modern game. The absolute opposite of the PE Teacher we had in charge just a week ago.

“He only brought in players that were right for playing his way,” Gross, Rangnick’s mentor, told The Athletic. “They were mostly young, Under-23s, open-minded, physically strong and quick in a cognitive sense. Older players often want to play at a slower pace because their bodies and minds slow down.”

This doesn’t bode well for Ronaldo and Cavani……

Killyboye, being honest Cavani probably presses more than our younger players.

He does but he doesn’t fit the age profile Rangnick likes, he’ll work with him but shouldn’t hold much hope of an extension, nor should Ronaldo

I would be surprised if the new manager is not lined up already and it will be him who hands out extensions.

Ronaldo is a two year deal anyway I think.

Music to my ears. This doesnt bode well for Carrick Mr slowplay himself.
Doesnt bode well for Maguire either.

Not sure Cavani has plans to stay beyond the summer. Be interesting to see how Ronaldo is used under this manager and the new manager next season.

I’d say he’ll make do with what he has this season, I can’t see any ins in January, maybe an out or two. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bit of a cleanout in June though. It’s hard to know really though. I think there are one or two players, who they are I don’t know, who will surprise us under him in a good way and a few who won’t cut it who have been playing well under the last regime.
Things that I can see happening:
AWB will have to learn to cross, Trippier is no longer an option as he is too old.
Shaw will have to lose weight and up his game again or Telles will play regardless of Shaw’s England career.
Central defence is a worry but players will have a better idea of where to be and when under this manager. We’ll be tighter and harder to play through, Varane’s pace will be key.
Fred, Fernandes, Donny, McT, Matic, Pogba and Lingard will all be competing for three midfield slots, Mejbri will probably make the step up.
Ronaldo will struggle in the new setup, he was never one to play the pressing game. If an offer came from the MLS (namely Inter Miami), I could see us accepting the offer. I don’t see Cavani staying past this season but he’s more likely to work for Rangnick than Ronaldo is.
Young forwards like Elanga and Amad should be called up to compete with Rashford, Martial, Ronaldo, Cavani and Greenwood.
It’s sink or swim time for Martial, he’ll be gone next summer if he doesn’t shape up.

Killyboye, as the quote talks to being “quick in a cognitive sense” I would argue that the cerebrally challenged AWB will be under an immediate microscope.

I expect Dalot, vdB and even Lingard to get more gametime under Ralf. Expecting a big clear out this summer. Should be more a case of which players are kept rather than sold

There are rumors regarding the RB position. Apparently the new manager wants players who can play the ball and cross. There is talk that Lindelof is going to be playing right back.

Dalot deserves a chance. He and Sancho would rip it up on the right

If you cloned the very best things that AWB, Dalot and Lindelof bring to the party you’d still end up with a crock of absolute shite!😂😂
