Young is an attrocious stop gap but the reason we see so much of him is a result of Shaw’s poor form and injury record since we signed him.
Shaw’s ability to get forward is completely overstated and is evident in the statistics of his contribution to goals and assists – negligible.
His defending is not good enough either because his positioning his dreadful – he always leaves right sided players get crosses in and never pushes out to close the space and/or tackle the attacker. Something AWB does constantly. Something Williams did last Thursday night.Young is finished and Shaw wont make it.

October 28, 2019 at 4:15 pm #1794878What I would give to have 3 Carricks is our midfield right now! Id have Carrick over Pogba even, anytime. Carrick in his prime was 10x the player Matic ever was/is/will be.
October 28, 2019 at 4:19 pm #1794879McT is a combo of Fletcher & Herrera, imho. He looks like is deceloping fine so far.
October 28, 2019 at 5:47 pm #1794886@moral,exactly. If Young has some influences on players i would make him the new tea lady as long as he stays away from the pitch.
Young and Jones were signed together by Fergie and i questioned it then when better players were avaiable.Talk about stealing aliving, they are still here and offered new conracts, wtf is going on.
We are not alone thinking this:

October 28, 2019 at 9:11 pm #1794924I reckon Pogba will be good in the current system if he doesn’t dwell on the ball. If he can play that early killer ball from deep to our attacking players it could be very effective. He is one of the best at the early killer ball, but that’s when he releases it rather than dwelling on it.
October 28, 2019 at 11:19 pm #1794944Yep your right mufc. It also depends on the movement of our attacking players,if the run in the channels they are easier to make a killerpass to.Shouldnt be hard to do really with pacy players like Rashford Martial and James but it also very much depends on whats in Pogba´s head for the day.
Agree on McTominay,he has developed and one of the few playing for the shirt.
Dont know his best position as he is everywhere and stuck in. He is a Doucoure with slightly worse technique..Dont think Chong and Gomes cut it,maybe Greenwood and Williams.
Maguire, pressured to be worlds expensive defender and playing in a Man United shirt. Every mans dog and Maguire knows he isnt a 80M man.
Not very impressed so far. Looks like we have to spend again at CB.October 29, 2019 at 8:11 am #1794957I think we can forget about Pogba contributing anything lads, I find this whole reported injury situation very strange and convenient. Apparently, he’s now out until December. I strongly suspect that he and his agent are playing games, and that he has downed tools yet again to force a move away in January.
We should have fucked him off in the summer as soon as he went public on wanting to go, and rebuilt the entire midfield with the money, but as usual Woodward and co made the wrong call and forced him to stay, bet they’re regretting it now.October 29, 2019 at 9:31 am #1794972Apparently Real said they want him to show consistency and form before they shell out for him so I’d like to think that’s not the case…. I’d like…..to think
October 29, 2019 at 10:04 am #1794980@killy – He hasn’t exactly been consistent since he rocked up at OT over 3 years ago mate, so if they haven’t already noticed that I’d be amazed. I strongly suspect there’s a fair bit of skulduggery going on which both Raiola and Real Madrid have concocted, the main aim being to drive down the price.
October 29, 2019 at 10:30 am #1794994Blacky-His price WILLgo down since after the next summer he will only have a year left on his contract.I agree,we should have taken the reported £150m on offer and rebuild the entire midfield with that money.
Fuck, I really hope we stay away from K2,Muller,Boateng. I really liked K2 but now he is closing on 29,and Napoli will demand well over £100m.Too old!October 29, 2019 at 11:03 am #1795005I can’t see how Williams hasn’t earned a starting spot over Young and to some extent even Shaw. Thought he was fantastic midweek in Belgrade.
Agree about Pogba. This injury seems very convenient.
October 29, 2019 at 11:24 am #1795017Blacky-DD revelead that Pogba will be back for Uniteds after the Liverpool game, didnt he not? Now the French virus is out until December, something is very fishy going on here.Should have gone for Van de Beek & SMS in the summer with his money, plus Fernandes.
October 29, 2019 at 12:29 pm #1795036The photographs of Pogba and ZZ together in Dubai two weeks ago also add fuel to the fire. I also thought Ole’s recent “I’m not a doctor” answer to a journo when quizzed about the full extent of Pogba’s injury tells a story as well.
October 29, 2019 at 2:11 pm #1795064I don’t think we’ll miss Pogba when he goes. Assuming we adequately replace him of course.
October 29, 2019 at 2:52 pm #1795081course you wont miss him, the number of minutes and game he has actually turned up and played well for mean he wont be missed so cash in and move on….Xhaka maybe free 😉
October 29, 2019 at 2:55 pm #1795083We wont miss any of our players if/when they leave.
October 29, 2019 at 3:04 pm #1795094Steveo – Was having a chat with a Gooner buddy of mine. Strange how club captains are behaving there recently. In fairness to Pogba, despite being booed and sworn at, he’s never reacted like that. He’s always been professional. Even Fellaini was booed and never reacted.
It’s poor professionalism isn’t it.
