Leeds deserved to win as they were by far the better team. They played with pace and passion whilst we were pedestrian and, apart from McLean, no passion. We made Leeds look like Real Madrid! I am struggling to name our MOM as all were poor. Things improved a little when the subs came on, but it was too little, too late. We didn’t seem to be able to get the basics right – couldn’t find a pass, tackling was poor and the back four did not move out as a unit. Jack was OK, but he should have saved their second and his kicking at times was terrible. The only good thing to come out of this is that the players now know what the Championship is about and hopefully know what they now need to do if they are to justify being favourites for promotion. If they do not learn and quickly, this is going to be a long, hard season.

    Spot on Selby.

It was always going to be a major project to turn round the team into a winning unit.
I reckon we have two seasons to get back to the PL or it is another eternity in the EFL.

I know preseason games are not a great guide but i watched the St Pauli game and sadly like yesterday it mirrored last season. Goals still look hard to come by in open play, creativity minimal and sadly defensive mistakes galore.

Like most seasons it will take 10 games to get a guide to how the season will be so Rowett and co have a lot to work on, a system the players can play to effectively and with confidence. We do seem to have again the wrong balance in the team. We have some players with great ability in the squad but to similar in certain areas.
