Not too sure how that one works, pretty sure you can’t “make” a player go if a player doesn’t want too. If there is any evidence of “fergie-ness” by the club then fair enough, but I don’t think so in this case (although everybody involved is from Pool…hmmm!)
banjo,I think you’re right the players can’t be made to go but they can potentially be suspended from playing for their clubs if they don’t go for the month of the tournament,there’s a Schalke player involved too???

players can retire from international football if they choose to. They cannot be forced to play if they dont wish to.

Not so nine. Apparently Liverpool are opting not to play him until FIFA get their head out of their ass and sort it. That’s what I’ve heard anyway not sure how true it is.
