if its true that Chelsea rejected a £78m bid for Oscar from Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning then I am afraid we are really becoming more stupid, besides that Oscar has not fully fulfilled his early promise 75m would be a massive boost for new resources that we are in need off in more ways than one. We have enough attacking midfielders that could easily fill in and do at least do as well but probably better.

There’s no way on earth that Chelsea have rejected £78mil for Oscar. I don’t think there is a single player in our squad (maybe Hazard) that we would reject that money for. Pure fabrication in my opinion.

this China story is becoming a bit worrying as they will make a try to bring in all the best available players in the world, its already happening, money is no object despite that fact that they are in a recession

notnice – would like to know where you saw 78m. the figure that I have seen reported is 58.5m which could equate to circa 78m EURO…?

Regardless these are significant amounts and as I stated on a different thread, if we will be short of CL money next season and we abide by the FFP rules then it would appear we would be very grateful for this kind of money

I have no idea if this story regarding Oscar is true or not, but my guess is that we would be reluctant to do anything until a new manager comes in anyway (the report I read implied the Chinese would be back in the summer anyway)

Actually, the whole approach by China could be very damaging to the EPL as they are obviously keen on many/most of our quality players, are prepared to pay top transfer fees and if the story regarding Ya Ya is true (15m after tax per year for a 3 year contract) then they seem to have deep pockets for the players as well – which can be very tempting even for a league in its infancy but wanting to grow…?
