    My heart goes out to the victims and family of last night’s terror attacks in Paris. As football fans, sports fans, nations, continents, and human beings we should unite against those responsible and show we are one against terror. RIP to those poor victims.

    Just don’t understand the motives for this – why target innocent people?

    Thoughts to family and friends on those tragically losing their lives.

    R.I.P to all those killed in Paris and those killed in previous terrorist attacks and all the innocent people killed by the West in the Middle East over the last 20 years.

    well done mufc, knew it wouldn’t be long before people started making excuses for the perpetrators, didn’t think I’d find it here

    well done mufc – I think it’s important to remember everyone who suffer as victims of terror, including state terrorism. These are innocent people losing their lives and I don’t think it’s right to pick and choose who deserve our thoughts and sympathies and who don’t. tom182 – stop dismissing other people’s lost lives like that. It’s disgraceful!!

    “Overtone” – Important to remember everyone? So why did mufc only specify “The West” as aggressors? You are pathetic

    tom182 – “R.I.P to all those killed in Paris and those killed in previous terrorist attacks” – mufc only used one sentence in his post, so I’m surprised you missed that part. I’m not going to have an argument with you over this. It’s a sad day in Paris and I just want to see every innocent human life regarded in the same way.

    Just to digress slightly, in Gatwick two men had been arrested for possession of guns.

    It’s scary to think that football stadiums are a target and the UK could be on the radar for Terrorists.

    All governing bodies of football need to unite with the governement and doing everything possible to be prepared and prevent such atrocities from happening.

    Mufc;
    Your attempt to mitigate the events in Paris by way of alluding to a comparison of “All those killed by the West in the middle east over the last twenty years” is quite frankly shameful. Exactly who in the West do you consider similarly culpable to those responsible for last nights cold blooded, pre meditated murder of the maximum possible number of innocents? It’s rather like qualifying sympathy for victims of the Holocaust by way of a comparison with German soldiers who lost their lives defending the Third Reicht.
    With the likes of miserable apologists such as yourself and Overtone in our midst it is little wonder that this once great country finds itself in trouble. I certainky wouldn’t want either of you standing next to me in the trenches!

    129 Dead over 350 injured with 99 very seriously Injured, The quicker the Morons who created this atrocity are weeded out the better. Although most of the purpetrators were Suicide Bombers.

    bloggy – Why are you calling me an apologist? All I said is that everyone should be treated equally and that one victim is not more valuable, and their life ‘worth’ more than another simply because they come from this part of the world. Do you disagree with that? I think it’s a fair and reasonable point of view.

    Overtone,
    I assume that you’re being deliberately obtuse. It has nothing to do with where in the world the crime took place. The horror of last night’s atrocity is not simply that so many innocents lost their lives, it is in the motivation that prompted such an indiscriminate act. Your argument is rather like saying that the death of a victim of a road traffic accident is the same as that of a victim a gruesome serial killer. Of course both are a tragedy for their families and loved ones, but one is a tragedy for us all. One is a premeditated, brutal act of a monster and one is a tragic accident where an innocent was killed in spite of the best endeavours to avoid such an outcome. That’s why only one carries a mandatory life sentence. Unless you think the West is deliberately targeting civilians and non combatants in the middle east as some sort of attempted genocide, then the difference in the West’s involvement in the middle east over the last twenty years and the events of last night must be pretty obvious. Certainly that’s not to diminish the tragedy of loss of life wherever and however it occurs, but that is not the point Mufc is trying to make. Rather he is attempting to equate a barbaric act of terrorism by a group Hell bent on the destruction of democracy and civilisation with policies drawn up and persued by accountable, democratically elected representitives of the free world. It appears you both just lacks the moral fibre or courage to come straight out and say it.
