January 20, 2016 at 1:10 pm #806099Another player who will be wasted and ruined by Chelsea
January 20, 2016 at 1:14 pm #806123If true at £10m and £1.7m a season it’s probably worth taking the risk on Pato and getting rid of Falcao’s wages would probably fund it too!
January 20, 2016 at 2:12 pm #806246I don’t know about Pato a few years back he was being billed as one the big stars of the future and has not remotely come close to that, yes we all know the usual talk the board and company have done their homework and have their reasons and want simply go out and buy a player without some kind of foundation but it has happened too many times down the years and even more so lately. In what why is he able to improve on what we already have barring if course the perennial injured Falcoa
January 20, 2016 at 2:52 pm #806339He was linked with Liverpool, he’s had a few bad injuries, but if you can manage to get rid of Falcao and/or Loic Remy,I’d say he’d be worth a punt at £10m. Saying all that,I expected Chelsea to make a bid for a ‘top’ striker (Neymar, Lewandowski apparently wants out of Bayern). One thing is for sure. Like Liverpool, u need a new striker urgently. Costa is fantastic, but he’s a hot head who causes controversy, and Falcao and Remy haven’t done it. Pato is a risk, but at that price, and your current need for another striker,it’s worth the risk imo
January 20, 2016 at 3:09 pm #806384Got to say we should refrain from both Pato and Lavezzi.
Pato is a huge risk. He is the type of player we are going to be lumbered with for the next 4 years. Corinthians have been trying to sell him for 2 years now and it’s worrying that no club wanted to buy him. I hope this works out for us this time and Pato rediscovers his potential.
Lavezzi on the other had can still do a job his style of play is more attributed to the premier league pace and strength. But still a risk as the player is 30.
When will Chelsea learn their lesson about buying cheap strikers? Ba, Remy, Eto’o, Falcao and now going for Pato and Lavezzi?!? The mind boggles.
January 20, 2016 at 4:21 pm #806501This guy according to the newspapers is poor. Hasn’t scored in donkeys years riddled with injuries. Corinthians are only too happy to offload him to anyone. I hope I am proven wrong. To me he seems to be another falcao
January 20, 2016 at 5:29 pm #806564radonc, who knows whether these rumours are true? Although so many running with it suggests they are.
Obviously a risk if we sign Pato but at circa £10m and £35k a week if accurate perhaps a risk worth taking mind you I said that about Falcao. Lol!
I think you’ll find Pato scored 26 qoals last season. Time will tell mate.
January 20, 2016 at 6:27 pm #806630Significant downside in signing Pato if there is any truth in these rumours certainly as far as this season is concerned is that he allegedly hasn’t played since November so he certainly won’t be hitting he ground running.
January 20, 2016 at 6:30 pm #806636999. Always enjoy your posts and palmeab. Pato seemed to fizzle out after he left Ac Milan. I remember him playing for Brazil in some tournament and doing absolutely nothing and hence my concerns today. Maybe guus hiddink can muster up some magic because we really need a striker. Imho I would give bamford a few starting games. Remember Eddie mcreadie when he managed. Gambled on youth and they didn’t do too badly. Cheers KTBFFH
January 20, 2016 at 6:38 pm #806648Nine, nine, nine:
10 goals in 30 league games and 26 in 56 total. It’s not great but still an ok amount. My doubt isn’t goals it’s more to do with his fitness and will he be just like Remy? as you said he hasn’t played since November.
Say if both were fit – Remy would score more than Pato but on the other hand Remy is rubbish at link up play and isn’t the best on the ball and using it. Pato would be better for link up and technical ability
January 20, 2016 at 8:32 pm #806777…kinell!,Pato coming to Chelsea?.How many more frogs have we got to kiss before we find the right one?.The move might be right for us economically but if he doesn’t produce on the pitch wouldn’t we have gone back to where we started.I’ll lay odds this guy’s a Falcao MKII.My sixth sense says Pato is ‘cheap’ for a reason and we should’ve stayed well clear.Buy cheap buy twice imo.We really should’ve taken a chance on promoting a forward from within…would’ve cost nothing and more likely has the insentive to impress imo!.
January 20, 2016 at 9:22 pm #806852radonc,appreciate the kind words mate. Ed Mac what might have been but for a Jag eh? It’s a risk for sure and it could go either way assuming it goes ahead. Cheers 999
January 20, 2016 at 9:25 pm #806861mtal, you may well be right mate but remember a certain Gianfranco Zola albeit back in 1996 at £4.5m. If we only had that little magician in all his pomp now.
January 20, 2016 at 9:32 pm #806879bort, 12 in 39 in 2014 and 26 in 56 in 2015 according to wiki who as we well know are always right.Lol! As mtal points out he could well be a frog!
January 20, 2016 at 9:55 pm #806927The wiki stats are correct: ESPN is missing Wiki’s continental goals stats
January 20, 2016 at 10:01 pm #806942bort, that’s sorted that one out then but Pato ia still like mtal says a possible frog though let’s hope Guus can give him a big kiss and turn him into a Prince. Lol!
January 20, 2016 at 10:43 pm #806969haha yeah as you can on ESPN only scored 2 out of the last 12 games he played in
January 21, 2016 at 7:32 am #807110I hope I am proved wrong but both Pato and Lavezzi are going to be another waste of time, money and not to mention holding back younger players who would do a better job and at a much lesser expense, it looks like someone at the club has really lost it this season and maybe thats what drove Mourinho on the brink of insanity.
January 21, 2016 at 8:50 am #807311Blaze, I think you might have hit the nail on the head. I dont think any of the signings at chelsea have been done with the managers full consent. He’ll have been given a list of names and said yes or no to them… And that is part of the problem.
