According to the Telegraph Pulis is going to be offered an extension to his contract. He’s also been looking at three players for the new season and surprise, surprise two of them are big defenders! If he is given an extension to his contract then that will be it for me. I hope it’s decided before the end of June then I’ll know whether to go for a 5 or 7 day membership at my new golf club!

Given that we know JP wishes to sell the club and that it will be worth more with a degree of ‘guaranteed’ survival this would not surprise me but like you it will reduce my interest to a new low which is somewhere past caring. Given some of the very low points we have both experienced over the past 60 odd years this takes some doing. I have long been an advocate for JP during his tenure of the club but if this proves to be his legacy he will not be remembered well by any of us who believe Albion deserve rather better than a manager employing Sunday league tactics game after game. I do not believe that our fans are much like those of Stoke who seemed to lap up the dross Pulis serves up and if the story turns out to be true it will be interesting to see what wider reaction is provoked?

I was having a really good morning – this news has seen that off! I was just getting excited about JP paying the Clown off and announcing a new and promising manager from the Bundesliga. Now I just feel deflated. Still I can now concentrate on the wider issues of life, and of football, and finally detach myself completely from what currently passes as football at the Hawthorns.

I think Stoke accepted it because he rescued them from oblivion and got them established in the Premiership – something like Megson did for us. Then Stoke wanted better and got something better. We are being left high and dry in the land of the dinosaurs and the giant centre-halves. But I think many fans will feel like us and jump ship.

Sorry to ruin your day sarky. Like DH54 I’ve seen it all following the Albion but today’s excuse for football is comparable to the rubbish served up in the 90’s. However, in those days while our managers weren’t brilliant at least they can say thay didn’t have the funds to buy decent players and that any good players we did have (Maresca springs to mind) were sold off. Pulis doesn’t have that excuse. I now read that he’s hoping to bring in four defenders, three of them from Championship teams and one from Italy. Also Jonny Evans in the E&S says that Pulis will be experimenting over the remaining games. Let’s look forward to an 8 1 1 formation, Rondon at centre half and Myhill either up front or of course LB. I’d like to say it was all a joke but a joke is supposed to be funny and what is happening in B70 is anything but funny!

Olsson up front closing down the opposition centre halves is always good for a laugh !! You never know, perhaps the experiment will include taking huge risks like playing our two international full backs !!! …… or perhaps giving Pritchard more than 5 minutes.

Well according to Evans we tried one or two things different against Sunderland. Shooting at their goal clearly wasn’t one of them.
