We were lucky to day to get a point against Blues. For me we were very poor. Our defense was very shacky.Dawsons passes was terribly and Bartley is a poor player and that means Hegazi is playing poor in defense too, today they were lucky not to get punished more than once. Our midtfield only old players,Brunt,Barry,Livermore are over the hill to me.Today only Phillips was playing well. With this team we will be staying in champ,we have nothing to do in prem.It seems to me DM love our old boys players and today he was poor too.Dissepointed ALBION supporter.Norway baggie.

I agree. Geir, – we were lucky to get a point The defence was very shaky and the attack with the exception of Philips and perhaps Barnes was non-existent until the last twenty minutes or so.
But the main problem was the midfield. Blues cut through it at will and were coming speedily at our defence. No wonder it looked shaky. In addition, there was little link up between the midfield and our attack so Rodriguez and Gayle, for all their movement and running, received very little of the ball.

Surely DM has to have noted how much better we became after Brunt was subbed. For all his time on the pitch our captain and part of the engine room of central midfield was a passenger. The game passed him by. Barry was much more influential and if for some reason DM is reluctant to try Field, Barry must start. And Gibbs also must be restored to the team.
All in all, a salutary reminder of how difficult we will find it to get out of this league. In spite of a few encouraging results we are still a long way from being promotion contenders.
On this showing, Blue should have no relation worries this season.

Very poor performance, echoes only what we have seen thus far this season. Theres a worrying hype being whisked up by the media that we are better than we actually are.DM I’m afraid is out of his depth and and last nite again highlighted his total lack on tactical nonse. After 15 minutes blues had sussed us and pressed there midfield up on us and stopped us playing from the back hence the inept long balls and constant giving of the ball away. He needed to change it but alas didn’t and we robbed blues cus they were better in every dept. Brunt as much as I love the guy is not up to this league even less so than he was the prem. You have to question the letting go of Yacob who alone was more mobile tactically better than Brunt and Livermoore put together. We need the Hoolahan type player in the summer from the off but the club failed badly and have now panicked and started to employ Dads Army. The futures bleak I’m afraid very bleak.

I find it really difficult to come to terms with just how far we have declined as a club over the past two seasons. The utter crap dished up on Friday night was little different to that of the Forest game and once again we came away with a point we did not deserve thanks to a terrific individual goal from Phillips. Playing three at the back is a disaster. 10 goals down already and it might easily have been half a dozen more if Forest, Norwich and Brum had taken half of what was offered. We must play a back four and adjust the team accordingly. Lose the liability that is the Swansea reject and try some options for central midfield because we do not have one worth the name. The back three look awful but it is not helped when they have no out ball most of the time and end up searching for an impossible pass because neither Brunt nor Livermore are available. When the do deign to drop back we get five minutes of sideways and backward passing ( rather like Barcelona on diazepam) until someone loses control and thus creates another opportunity for the opposition. The system is crap and sadly so to is the head coach. Not a bloody clue IMHO – useless system, poor but consistent selections and piss poor substitutions. We are headed downhill fast at this rate and if the kids are not given some sort of a chance soon which of them will want to stay now that being 30+ is vital to our recruitment and selection policy? Its a shambles.

DM is on a trajectory like the Clown – six foot plus has been replaced by thirty plus. I look forward to a report on tonight’s match as in spite of our comfortable half-time lead, I’m sure a few supporters lost their fingernails towards the end.
