There is no one who can convince me that having watched the ManU game that they are any better than Chelsea and that it is not possible for us to catch them in the league. Of course we need to see further improvement from Chelsea but watching ManU, the fans leaving 10 minutes before the end and roundly booing the team as they left the pitch – I would suggest we are in a healthier position to make a move…? 1905, it is a very strange season putting aside our dreadful start City are all over the place at the moment and Liverpool made them look anything but title contenders, United look very ordinary and can’t score goals but are solid defensively goodness knows where they would have been though had De Gea joined Real , Arsenal looked set fair this summer to really have a go at winning the title but once again Wenger refused to spend on the players they needed to bring in, and their soft centre and contiuning list of injuries is beginning to once again take effect,

Spurs are probably the PL’s most consistent team but almost certsinly lack the squad depth and mentality to mount a title challenge and then there’s Liverpool who being just 7 points behind United can’t be ruled out but they continue to struggle at home yet are capable of digging out significant performances away from home. Leicester are the big surprise package and deservedly sit astride the top of the PL but when push comes to shove they will do well to finish in the top 6.

I still think that when City get Aguero match fit and Kompany and Silva back they will be too strong for everybody else.

What of Chelsea? Well 13 points is an awful lot to make up and it would require us to put forward a run of wins that we have yet to seem like doing but a 12 points difference has been pulled back before so that if we got our act together and went on w winning run you couldn’t completely rule it out but currently the big “if” is going on that long winning run. Here’s hoping though eh. Cheers buddie 999

As dire as Man United have been this season, unfortunately the difference between us and them is that they have had all the luck so far. I’ve lost count of the amount of games they have won that their performance has not warranted. Conversely, every single bad performance by Chelsea has gone punished this season.

If looking at things purely based on performances, there is probably very little between the two teams. Unfortunately though, this doesn’t change the fact that, somehow, there is 13 points separating us. A big mountain to climb for any team.

We should just concentrate on ourselves and see where we are come March time. We have a long road ahead of us!

BlueLion – it is true that we have been unlucky with decisions but that still does not get away from the fact that ManU are playing badly. They have been lucky in many games just scrapping through by the odd goal and are being found out in Europe. Of course 13 points is a big gap to close and I believe that the statisticians tell us its never been done. Yet, I fully believe that so long as we turn the corner in the next few weeks and start to string some results together then we would scare the pants of those above us and all of them would be looking over their shoulders….!! Obviously the big flaw in my logic is whether or not we can put a run together. KTBFFH

I don’t disagree with any of that mate. A few wins and its surprising how quickly you can start climbing the table. Will be harder to get into that top 5 or 6 as they (should) keep winning more, but we can certainly start breathing down their necks and get them worried! That is if we keep winning, of course!

BlueLion – do not dispute that it will be tough but at the same time we see all the teams above us faltering and dropping points at some stage. If we can put together a decent run then we will also take points of some of the rivals so although quite a steep hill to climb not yet a mountain IMO…? KTBFFH
