Sure we have Liverpool and United away but we also have West Ham, Burnley and Watford at home and if the side is PLAYING TO ITS BETTER FORM those are all games we should win. Leicester away on the final day really depends on what both sides are playing for/trying to achieve other than the obvious three points and pride. I actually fancy us to beat United at Old Trafford as I think their honeymoon with OGS is over and they have returned to reality. Once again they are looking a little vulnerable. Whatever, we are in for an interesting run in.

Let’s take match by match. One match at a time. Beat WHU first. Then we can discuss the next match

It is always good to see what the opponents have in front of them. Arsenal just lost at Everton and there are more to come. If we don’t beat the likes of WHU at home then we may as well close this thread completely. I prefer to look beyond Chelsea. We, as posters, are all different. Maybe I have too much time on my hands in retirement. Each to their own 🙂

67, you were spot on with your posts mate the players have to take it a game at a time not the fans.😊 And whilst the next game is always the most important game playing Liverpool and United is always important and top of mind even without what rests on those games.

Stating off the week with 3 points though v WHU would be good.

Agree with Sarri why are we being made to play WHU on Monday night and Slavia Prague on Thursday ridiculous from the PL especially with having to play Liverpool on the Sunday who will have had more rest between PL games aren’t travelling and two days extra rest between their European game and playing us.

chelsea1967, agree. If we can’t beat West Ham at home, let’s just close this thread and we won’t talk anymore about top 4. On paper we should be able to beat them but they are a team full of surprises. And they have good elements in Anderson, Chicarito, Arnautovic, Michail Antonio, Declan Rice …

All falling into place innit. Arsenal lose at Everton and most of their remaining fixtures are away to the dangerous mid table teams we lost to already so I expect more dropped points there and Spuds are in heavy duty Champions League matches against City and now minus Kane for a while. United’s honeymoon with OGS is over and reality is starting to set in for them with some adverse results of late and their confidence would be further sapped with a good flogging by Barcelona (which I am anticipating).

Nature is taking its course now all we need to do is get at least a draw at Liverpool (which is achievable as they are under massive pressure keeping up with City) and beat United away (which on current form of us and them is also achievable) and things may be pretty much played out after those matches as far as top four aspirations are concerned.

While it may sound stupid considering our erratic form this season it is the games at Liverpool and ManU where I can see us picking up points. Chelsea always has a tendency to raise their game against the bigger teams rather than be over confident against the lesser ones

Spurs look as though Kane will be missing for the rest of the season, Arsenal are struggling away from home, ManU have lost that winning streak and are now struggling in games and Spurs – well they are just Spurs and die a death at this time of the season anyway….!! We are hitting form with some young players looking to impress and with Eden of fire maybe trying to give us that final push as his leaving present, anything could happen. KTBFFH

Well CHO, RLC and Emerson need to continue to play if we are to finish top 4.

The three players that have been offering nothing all season in the league have been Willian, Kovacic and Alonso. How they had been starting ahead of CHO, RLC and Emerson all this time is nothing short of a joke and has put our top 4 chances at major risk.

Just looked and Willian has scored 1 premier league goal since 28th October. Thats criminal that he has lasted this long with CHO not getting a look until now. Same goes to the other 2 as well.

Watching the game last night I think there can be no doubt that Emerson is now in the driving seat for the LB role. The fact that RLC was used in conjunction with Hazard and Kante to turn the game in our favour speaks volumes to me and I think shows that Sarri is growing in confidence in what RLC brings to the team and our midfield

I would expect having been fully rested that CHO will start this weekend and if he does then my comments above about RLC would apply to CHO as well

Think these 3 could have a big impact for us next season assuming that Sarri is thinking along the same lines. KTBFFH

No gift from Arsenal to us. Already 0-1 up against Watford with Watford playing 10 men. Our top 4 chances are as slim as ever now

Lol. Probably for 5th place bort. 6th place is not a race anymore. It’s assured already for the team with the lowest points in the current big 6. Anyway the problem was not the loss against Pool. It was the losses against Bournemouth, Everton and the draw against Wolves. Slim now our chance, very slim.

How many twists and turns have we seen to date and who would rule out more to come…?

Everyone says that Arsenal have an easy run in but most of their games are away and they just about scrapped home last night so who is to say they will not drop points again. Spurs are hit and miss and look like they have lost Kane as well. If they manage to progress past City in the CL then they could also be easily distracted. ManU are also not playing well and should have at least drawn with Wham at the weekend and have stuttered since they made Ole manager

Our loss at the weekend could easily be seen as understandable as most would agree that City and Liverpool are playing the best football this season and Liverpool are unbeaten at home. Anything for us would have been a bonus

We have some decent games to play and it is looking like the ManU game could have a lot riding on it but until the defeat at the weekend we have not done too badly recently and potentially we could even have got something out of that game as well (38 times this season we have hit the woodwork…!!)

We can still achieve our target of CL football by 2 routes so I would not give up hope of either just yet. KTBFFH

Arsenal were so lucky again but thats what you need to qualify, our luck has not been great this season so for me the only route will be via the Europa.

Imagine if we played Arsenal n the Europa League Final and the two teams finished 5th and 6th in the league. Everything hinging on the one match. Everything for the winner, entry to the Champions League and Europa League Champions and nothing for the loser but another season of Thursday night footie.

Arsenal made hard work of it against 10 men last night but a wins a win. Spurs and Arsenal look favourites to finish in the top 4 now and probably in that order.

Arsenal were absolute dog shite last night. A bit annoyed they got the three points, but if they keep playing like that they will drop points, for sure.
There’s an argument to say that neither Spurs, Arsenal, or ManU are playing particular well at the moment so its all still to play for, but the reality is we are in 5th spot, and all three other teams have a game in hand on us. So it’s highly unlikely we can do enough with the amount of games left to make the top 4.

Very soft goal and a soft sending off imo.
