Wolves peed off with that goal not standing.

    #2166382

They have every right to be because it was 100% a goal… could have potentially eraned them a win at Anfield which may have turned their season around.

Sympathy, the offside was given as a result of the corner kick taker (Nunes) coming from an offside position following his corner. The linesman (very experienced) made the correct decision regardless of whether a camera was on Nunes or not.

    #2166454

@rob Fort Worth TX – I’m sorry but I don’t care how experienced the linesman is: you look at the replay and you can see that Nunes is either in line or so close that it was going to impact the play – it’s truly grasping at straws to say that he gained any sort of advantage for setting up the goal from being in the offside position.

Just to be clear, I thought DCL’s goal on Friday against us (as well as similar goes were there are fractional differences) should count.

@Sympathy – Not sure where you are going with this one mate, but suffice to say that you cannot be ‘a little bit’ offside. You’re either on or you are off, simple as that.

Wolvesโ€™ camera on the other side showed that he was clearly onside. So the brilliant, extremely experienced linesman on the other side of the pitch got it totally fucking wrong! LiVARpool strike again!

Hurling, nope, after Nunes took the corner in the build-up to the goal, he had retreated back to retrieve the ball, thus playing himself offside before he swept in the resulting cross. Offside pal.

Todd Boehly is going to be hilarious I think, club is going to sink like a stone, back to pre-Abramovic levels if it keeps going the way it’s going. They’re like a bad Galactico-era Read Madrid.

Felix to Chelsea because he “preferred the project” they were offering! Ha ha ha, what for 6 months when they’re in 10th position??? Yeah lovely project that!
Pretty sure that’s code for “Chelsea were the only ones stupid enough to pay all my wages and give my club ยฃ10m for the pleasure”!!

You should be more concerned about us signing Wout Weghorst when he couldnโ€™t get a game for Burnley mate.

JM – Just find it funny when they say he ‘preferred the project’ when we all know its just a case of who would pay for the loan. I don’t really care at all, Chelsea are getting everything spectacularly wrong at the moment and its lovely to see.

With regards to Weghorst if that’s who ETH wants for these next 6 months then so be it. We all know we’re going big for a striker in the summer (Harry Kane would be my top target) and that nothing really happens in January. We just need a body up front to cover Martial basically. He’s doing alright at Besiktas, scored a couple of nice goals at the World Cup – he’s massive so can give us a plan B.
    I’m not that bothered.

Happy – that’s the lottery with VAR, had the linesman not flagged him offside (and he looks onside from the latest camera footage) then VAR would not have overturned it. But VAR had to go with the onfield decision as they had no camera angle to overturn it. There should be a review of all grounds to ensure there are adequate camera angles going forward.

The other annoying trait is not calling offsides as offside and letting teams play on until the offside player touches the ball. They should have called Salah offside in the build up to his goal and then the other mistake wouldn’t have mattered.

As for Felix, he just wants out and Chelsea have paid the fee (which is no issue), he was never going to say he was joining them as they were the only team who could afford it. Bit of a strange one and he seems to play off of the striker and chelsea seem to need a striker (like us). Be interesting to see if he can play further forward.

I think Weghorst is just a numbers signing – if we bring him in – we need bodies up front as cover and he offers that as well as a physical presence in the box. Not a long term solution and not a long term signing.

ETH has got a lot right so far so I’m not going to worry about it.

Malacia and Antony are strange signings and only Lord knows how long Casemiro and Ericson will hold. Got to respect new managers philosophy and signings in a timescale of 2-3 years though. Time will tell but next summer signings will be crucial.

    #2166924

Think Malacia was a logical signing – we lacked quality at left back and Malacia came in as a cheap signing but is one for the future + is decent competition for Shaw. I would say it’s been a good signing simply because Shaw has had to pull his finger out this season and perform or else get dropped, which is what he’s doing.

Martinez, Casemiro and Eriksen have all been great signings so far.

The big one was Antony – at 80m you’d expect a truly Top Class player (even at his age) yet we haven’t really seen that; hope he develops but I can’t help but feel that we could’ve gotten a better player for that amount of money.
