Happy. Kane would be your top target in the summer? That would be van Persie 2.0 but without the PL title. Kane will be 30 by time the new season kicks off. The time to sign him was 5 or 6 years ago
This summer we should be targeting strikers under the age of 25 eg. Vlahovic (Juve will be desperate to raise cash again), Osimhen, Moukoko, Ramos, Evanilson

Malacia was a great signing in terms of modest transfer fee & wages and he gave Shaw the kick up the ass he needed

Weghorst is a strange one. Despite his size he is one of the best pressers around and likes ball into feet

Casemiro and Eriksen were good transfers but only so long as there is already a succession plan in place for both of them

Homer – Yeah i think i would go all out for Kane mate. (I said it before Rio and Merson piped up this week to the same effect). Let’s be clear he’s not one of these signing for the future players like Martinez, Antony etc. Kane is a here and now, bang there’s 25 league goals for the next 3 seasons. We can target the Osimhen’s of this world, and he is the perfect profile, but there’s no guarantee that he doesn’t have the same impact as Jadon Sancho. Kane is different, he’s been scoring 30 plus goals for the last decade. He’s a goal scoring machine, every single type of goal he scores them. Fitness issues aside, he would be basically a guarantee of goals and that’s exactly what we need. Not someone from Italy like Abraham who makes it look easy over there and then does fuck all in the Premier League.
It’s a hard league for a striker to adjust to. Werner, Lukaku, Nunez – even Aubamayang at Chelsea now looks a spent force. You pay big money for strikers and they’re really fuckin hit and miss.
But guess who’s not hit and miss? Harry Kane!

And yeah i think he would absolutely have an RVP style impact for ETH. The team, at the moment, looks a bit more solid. We’re not conceding too many goals and we seem to be quite good in midfield now, still room for improvement of course. But what we lack is that killer instinct, that clinical striker. Not a fast forward, or a tricky winger because we’ve got those already.
What we need is someone who is obsessed with sticking the ball in the back of the net, even if its just for 2 or 3 seasons.
Harry Kane would be perfect for that role.

Alfie – If VAR doesn’t have camera angles all over the pitch then that’s fucking stupid isn’t it??? Ha ha, wow the more you think about it the more ridiculous it sounds. Despite what the Liverpool fan said the Wolves’ camp had their own camera which clearly showed the linesman made an absolutely appalling call!
Anyway i’m not too worried about Liverpool any more, think they’ve come to the end of their cycle. Honestly don’t understand why its taken teams so long to figure out that if you don’t give Salah half a football pitch of space to run into he’s essentially useless.

@happy – It’s completely pointless pulling your wire about signing Harry Kane for 3 reasons, which have already been pointed out on numerous occasions,

    1. Levy wouldn’t sell him to us for anything close to a ‘reasonable’ fee.
    2. The gimps (or whoever) are not going to fork out the massive fee for a 30 year old that would be required to get Levy to even think about it.
    3. If you’re Harry Kane you want to go to a club GUARANTEED to challenge for and win trophies year in, year out. We are at least 2 years away from that if we’re very lucky.

You might as well turn your bedsheets like cardboard pulling your wire about Mbappe or Haaland coming to OT because the chances are about the same, simple as that.

Reports are saying £100m for either Kane or Osimhen and up £70m for Sesko. I know which two I’d go for and Kane wouldn’t be one of them. I don’t think he has three years left in him. With the miles he’s put in I think we’d get one very good year, one middling one and then he’ll be done. If Spurs get £100m for him next Summer it will be one of the best pieces of business Levy has ever managed and that’s saying something.

Blacky – I think all 3 of your points are speculative at best. Kane is a massively depreciating asset for Levy. He almost sold him 2 summers ago to City but they just didn’t quite stump up the cash. Kane in the summer is around £80m i’d say.
No idea why our owners (or any potential new owner) wouldn’t pay that or £100m considering what they paid for Antony.
And Harry Kane would absolutely suck your knob off for a chance to play for a club like Manchester United! 😉
He’s scored about 300 goals and not one of them meant anything to anyone.

Killy – Even if it is only a couple of seasons its worth it because he would absolutely have the same impact as RVP did for Fergie. This team is just missing a goal scorer, exactly what Harry Kane would bring. Get him in for 2/3 years whilst you find the next best striker rather than panic buy someone in the summer because we’re desperate.
Anyway it all makes way too much sense for United to get him so i’m sure we’ll end up with someone much younger who takes years to get up to speed, or not at all like Martial.

@happy – The only person being “speculative” here is you!!😂, it’s just all a load of old pointless bollocks.
I can’t even be arsed to school you any further, if you can’t or refuse to recognise reality knock yourself out.

Who do you think we’ll get then Blacky? It’s obviously our No. 1 transfer priority for the summer.

Unfortunately, there’s such a dearth of quality strikers throughout the world these days I think we’re going to really struggle.
Let’s face it, we will likely be competing with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern and Chelsea who will all be in the market for the best available, so in all honestly I haven’t got a Scooby!😂😂

I think Inter could be on the market too, Lukaku can’t even kick a ball at the moment.

Signing Harry Kane makes fuck all sense unless it was the final piece in us winning the league. We still need quite a few more top players to be anywhere near so dont see the point in blowing massive coin on a player of that age. That type of money would be better spent on trying to get Rice or Bellingham which guarantees quality in the team for the longer term. Saying that, think we’ll go all out for Osimhen this summer.

@n1xer – Agreed mate, it’s wrong place wrong time as far as Kane is concerned. Never seen Osimhen play, what type of striker is he?
Suffice to say his goals per game ratio is very impressive, but yet again it seems our scouts were fast asleep when he was playing just across the channel at Lille only a couple of years ago.
No doubt we will end up paying massive coin for a player we could have got relatively cheaply if only our recruitment process wasn’t so fucking grossly incompetent, deary me.

@Blacky-I’d be lying if i said i’d seen loads of him mate. I’ve probably seen him play a handful of times. He looks like an all round striker. He’s quick and can get in behind and scores different types of goals. He’s also a big lad so should be able to look after himself in the PL. The only concern i would have is that sometimes it all looks a bit manufactured. His touch can be a bit heavy and he can look hesitant. Definitely wouldn’t be sure about him being a guaranteed success. He is doing great in Italy but then again, Lukaku was the best striker in that league and look at what he did in the PL.

Like always, the issue is the mismanagement of the squad under various managers. We’ve got ourselves in a fucking jam in the striking dept which means we’ll have to spend another boatload on a striker that is not guaranteed to be a success. Would also like us to pick up the young lad from Dortmund this summer but i imagine he is nailed on for Munich.

It will need to be a fairly mammoth offer with guarantees of playing time to get Moukoko in the door. There’s a number of clubs looking at him as well. Talk a few weeks back was that he had fired his agent (also his father I think) and distanced himself from his family as he wanted to stay at Dortmund and they were making things difficult. I think Real, Barca, Munich, Chelsea, Newcastle, PSG and us are amongst just some of the clubs looking at him.

@Killy-If he moves then could see him at Munich or Madrid. Any top striker we go for this summer will be a £100M plus. If Rice and Bellingham are on the market i’d prefer we direct that type of money that way.
