Just a thread to discuss the teams around us in the table. Liverpool go to Southampton tonight. Southampton have a couple of players out and have only won 1 in 5. Hope Ings can get at the weakened Liverpool back line.

A draw is more than enough – any dropped points is great. Still see Liverpool winning though.

Saints are missing missing Vestergaard, Redmond and McCarthy.

Ings scores direct. Liverpool have no cb´s left plays with Fabio and Henderson.

Liverpool have two CB’s on the bench. One of them is 23 so by no means a kid

Had a feeling Southampton may nick a draw. Never expected a win. The season goes on….

No point getting excited as we’re not even half way through, but it seems like there is no clear league leader this season as there have been for quite a few years now: might just be a Leicester in 2016 season repeat.

@Sympathy-Spot on mate. No need to get excited at all. It’s far too tight at the top of the table. City will be one point behind us if they win their game in hand. Feels like the media are driving the agenda with a view to us falling on our faces. Great to see us up at the top and in the mix for a change but still a long long way to go.

Just let us know when we can get excited yeah? Cheers!

    #1908487

@happyhurling – you, and any other poster on here, can get excited as much as you like; all I’m cautioning is that things may not turn out to justify the excitement.

If I had to do a comparison, it’s as if we have guessed the first 2 numbers of a 5-number lottery ticket correctly: things are looking very good and we could well still win it, but there’s still more than half the numbers to go and odds are still not in our favour. With a bit of luck we may get a few more successes which would be good enough for us.

Hahahaha! Excited. Has the giddyometre ever been below 90% mate? No one is trying to wreck anyones buzz just add a bit of perspective. But i get that is in short supply normally on here. Just don’t be internally combusting if we win the next few PL games 😭😭

On a more serious note, it’ll be interesting to see how the players and manager handle the pressure. Seen that cunt Klopp was whinging about us getting penalties after last nights game. No doubt the mind games will be getting cranked up. Talking about cunts, Richard Keys is on a one man mission to try and create a witch-hunt against our forwards for the number of pens we’ve had in the last year. Reckons we’re the worst divers in the whole of Europe. Sad fucker
