as to rivals watch…it is clear that every club in the league is struggling with playing during covid. a very strange season with not much rhyme or reason to it.
at one point people said we may as well give the title to liverpool but now they have fallen apart. city were completely written off but then took a nice covid break and now look uncatchable. united were title challengers…for ten minutes. fat frank was the bees knees at chelsea for a fleeting moment or two. mourinho was the messiah and going to win the league, arteta was schooling ole and showing us the way forward until arsenal reverted to type. everton and west ham are up for the top four, heaven forbid.
probably only leicester have shown any consistency.
an odd season to say the least.
February 16, 2021 at 12:35 pm #1923902But YOU have said on more than one occasion that you don’t think he’s up to the massive task of getting us back to competing with the likes of City and Bayern, which isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of his capabilities either.
Anyway like I said to @happy, it’s just becoming a monotonous trip down the same old path discussing it. I’m content to wait and see who is proved right or wrong when it’s all been played out.February 17, 2021 at 10:59 am #1924235Everton vs City tonight at 8.15.
February 17, 2021 at 12:22 pm #1924263Loads of football tonight – Celtic and Atletico games at 6, Jimmy Garner’s Forest at 7, European games at 8.
Wouldn’t mind Everton knicking a draw. Doesn’t mean anything unless we start winning games thoughFebruary 17, 2021 at 8:50 pm #1924437Pains me to say it but Foden is a serious player in the making also, if not already.
February 17, 2021 at 9:17 pm #1924439do you point at planes as well?
February 17, 2021 at 9:41 pm #1924441Tumbleweed Tommy “Top Red”….
February 17, 2021 at 9:46 pm #1924443as i said before…the only people i have ever heard use the top red insult are soft little insecure shites who know there points do not stand up to scrutiny.
February 17, 2021 at 10:06 pm #1924448Yup, Foden is already there @moral. Guardiola has done a great job protecting him. A bit like Ole and Greenwood tbh
February 17, 2021 at 11:08 pm #1924460Agree @moral, Foden is looking the real deal. Think we can forget about City at this point.
February 17, 2021 at 11:25 pm #1924463@Homer, agreed. Think Greenwood has great natural talent albeit not a right winger per se – but much more effective out on the right than anyone else on the books. His 2 footedness is terrific.
@n1xer, agreed. Will be interesting to see the gap at seasons end. 17 wins on the trot for them tgt. City (and Pool for 2 seasons) have set an incredible standard the last 3 seasons.
February 18, 2021 at 7:08 am #1924474Gotta hold your hands up to City, they’re just winning every single game they play. Broken the consecutive wins record in the league now too, no one can live with that.
February 18, 2021 at 7:17 am #1924478@happy – Chin up mate, Ole’s at the wheel and with those two new first team players you want doing the business next season we’ll be putting some proper manners on those blue cunts any day now. I can clearly see the worry lines on Pep’s massive forehead from here!!😂😂😂
February 18, 2021 at 7:56 am #1924489mad how shit City looked a few months back. thought ole let them off the hook when we drew nil nil and when they dropped points at home to west brom i had was sure nandrolone pep would crack up and the title was liverpools. pete the cheat knew exactly what he was doing when he cried off the first everton game.
and to think they will almost certainly sign dolph lundgren this summer…
February 18, 2021 at 9:05 am #1924501Blacky – My chin is up mate, can’t argue with what Pep’s doing – even Fergie would have struggled to keep pace with what’s happening over there.
February 18, 2021 at 9:40 am #1924513Can’t disagree mate, it’s like I said to you yesterday. We are light years away, not just in terms of results but in terms of how we actually play the game in comparison to them. The way they pass it, manipulate the ball, take care of it like it’s a rare jewel, the movement off the ball plus the way they push right up onto the opposition to condense the play making it nigh on impossible to get out and play through them is the exact polar opposite of us.
We are so wasteful in possession, and the standard of passing throughout the team especially from the likes of AWB, Fred, Matic, Martial, Rashford and even Bruno most of the time is just fucking woeful.
Apparently Rashford gave the ball away 24 times in the recent game against West Ham, I doubt KDB has given it away that often all season, and if any City player did they wouldn’t be in the team.February 18, 2021 at 9:54 am #1924516Before C8tys run this season and last season. Teams were going at City, going at their defence. They all seemed to have stopped doing this.
February 18, 2021 at 10:16 am #1924522Blacky – Well i’m not sure they’re THAT good mate! 😉
They looked totally bereft of ideas a few short months ago, making all sorts of mistakes. Bernado has suddenly woken up from some sort of 18 month football coma and Phil Foden looks the real deal. They’ve got a 300 million pound defence so you’d expect them to be pretty good at the back. Plus Pep has been there for 5 years so they should be at the top of their game now.
Not to mention the fact he’s wasted more money on top talent than a 50-year old China man in Amsterdam’s red light district!February 18, 2021 at 10:45 am #1924536They started the season very slowly like lots of teams did, including ourselves. But when you go game after game hardly conceding a chance, never mind a goal you must feel pretty invincible. The standards he demands from his players is on a different planet to us, what do you think he would have done with a player like Fred if he’d have inherited him in his squad when he took over? He wouldn’t have played one single game before being shipped out, simple as that.
As for his 300m defence, well ours cost over 200m!!😳😳February 18, 2021 at 10:54 am #1924540Weirdly enough, the best thing that happened to City was their team getting a COVID outbreak: in a period when everyone was playing matches left, right and centre, they took a break without any downsides (how the Premier League decided that the game could be cancelled same day because of City incompetence and just postpone instead of giving the win to Everton is beyond me).
They look fresher than any other team right now.
