Teams with character and/or characters tend to find a way by hook or by crook.
Chelsea and The Hammers did today.
We didn’t. There are so many players masquerading as top level footballers at the club. What a truly disgusting group of individuals we have harvested at the club. Absolute disgrace by Woodward and Ole.
We can hate the Glazers but 1.3bn has been chucked at players over a decade and 460m under Oles watch.
I don’t think Ole was amazing but to say he was the worst manager is a bit harshe: Moyes was a total train-wreck and took apart a title-winning team in one season, LVG then made it worse by buying a number of average players rather than actually good first team players + destroyed the attacking mentality at the club and Mourinho, though in hindsight appears to have been the best performing manager, did the damage of breaking team morale which we still struggle with today.
Ole wasn’t tactically good enough, nor were his signings good enough, but at least he didn’t destoy the coaching staff (Moyes), the exciting, attacking mentality (LVG) or the morale (Mourinho) of th club.
Moyes inherited a complete bucket of shite Sympathy, courtesy of Fergie’s lack of foresight. How we won that last title even God doesn’t know. Moyes was on a hiding to nothing mate. As for Van Gaal and Mourinho, at least both had a style of play, a plan and a track record. Ole, on the other hand, was fucking clueless from beginning to end of his tenure. Not once did I hear any tactical speak or game analysis in any of his pre or post match interviews. His only success was to turn this shower of shite into a bunch of soft cunts. A fucking amateur.
@mufc – Moyes got less than a year and spent about 63 million quid whereas the clueless one got 3 years and was given 460 million to spend on players and still couldn’t win any sort of a trophy. Not only that, we are now witnessing just what sort of shitshow ‘legacy’ he has left behind for the next guy.
I said when he was given the job full time that it was one of the most obviously doomed appointments in the history of the Premier League, and so it proved. It’s going to take at least another 3 years to clear out his mess, and at least 5 years to mount a title challenge, but if Poch does get the job I fear even that timescale will be wildly optimistic, simple as that.
