This season, our first great run to us being top at Christmas was with Pogba in the side. Our shite period started when he got injured. Our run started when he came back. Pogba stepping up a bit really has taken some pressure off Fernandes.

Fred is good at the defensive aspect of the CM position (hence why he does well in big matches (usually)). The problem is when we control the midfield and need to break down stubborn defences; he’s poorly offensively and doesn’t provide much. At leats McTominay is dangerous at corners and scores a few here and there.

In my opinion; we should play the following:

    – Against tough teams where we are most likely to have to be a bit defensive, we should play McTominay, Fred, Pogba and Fernandes in the middle

    – Against weaker opposition it should be McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes in the middle with 3 attackers.

Fair play to Ole, we look like a team under him. Shoddy defence and, well, Fred, but at least they are all trying and working together. Even Pogba puts in a shift these days. I hope we keep Cavani for another season. He’s a perfect example of a centre forward. Never stops running, works tirelessly for the team, scores goals and is unselfish. Those two passes for the first and Greenwood’s goals were just sublime. Him scoring those beautiful goals in front of full house old Trafford crowd will be a beautiful sight to behold.

Spot-on. Pogba’s beginning to look like the beast of the player he was at Juve. Three of four times Thursday Pogba was in possession and was closed down by three players. Any other player would lose possession, Pogba not only kept hold of the ball but after opening up space for someone else then got a good pass away. He was basically unplayable in the second half. We need to keep him.

United need to sign a top defensive midfielder this summer. Fred and McTominay are effective together, but combine to do the work of one top defensive midfielder. Matic is 32 and has taken a backwards step this year and started only 10 PL games. A truly elite player in the position would allow greater balance, let Pogba come back in as part of a midfield two, helping United to be more ambitious in big games. For the rest of this season, Ole has no better option but to keep starting Fred and McT together for the remaining games.

Fred and Lindeloaf are the 2 weakest links in the team and until they are replaced we won’t compete with the best. Neither are physical enough or quick enough for their respective positions.

Just in case it passed you by nappy, we ended up in the Europa league and not the CL, won’t win the PL, didn’t make either cup final and haven’t won anything for 4 years.

reluctantly in semi agreement with seth here…we have beaten the best and on any given day we could compete with any team in the world.

but we wont be competing with them in the truest sense of the word until we are genuinely challenging for the league.

i do think we are closer to it than some of the moaning fuckers would have you believe though.

How do I changed my mind? Ole has my full support and I hope he wins his first trophy at United. But I have lost all hope under the current leadership. We need to get rid of these parasites at any cost. When the fans are let back into the games, wait until the start of the game and then all walk onto the pitch and stop the game and I can see that happening.
