Well that’s sorted that one out.
May 10, 2019 at 11:43 pm #1750727Sounds like quite a slap down – think we are stuck with 40k capacity for a while while all our rivals have increased capacity or built a new ground.
Still you cant beat the memories we have had compared to them over the last 15 years or so!!August 26, 2019 at 8:27 am #1777835Just seen the minutes from the last fans forum with the Club and here is the Club’s response re Roman and his current lack of attendance at games at the Bridge.
“Response to a question regarding the lack of attendance of the owner and rumours of a potential sale, the Club responded that the owner is very engaged and he sees every match beamed live wherever he is in the world. He continues to have strong opinions on the team and possible transfers. His lack of attendance is in no way indicative of reduced interest in the Club.”
August 27, 2019 at 3:28 pm #1778229That was a shit answer.
The fans are asking “whats the current situation surrounding Roman entering the Uk and when we can expect him back at the bridge?”
August 27, 2019 at 5:31 pm #1778243Seemingly bort Roman won’t return to the UK until HM Government stops playing politics and renews his residency Visa.
March 18, 2020 at 2:01 pm #1835732“Chelsea Football Club is joining the medical response to the coronavirus outbreak in London with the news the National Health Service (NHS) has accepted the Club’s offer to make the Millennium Hotel at Stamford Bridge available for NHS staff.
The initiative came from club owner Roman Abramovich and, after contact with the NHS was made by Chairman Bruce Buck, it was decided the best way Chelsea can assist the NHS is to provide accommodation for NHS staff. Mr Abramovich will be covering the costs of providing the accommodation. Many of the medical staff will be working long shifts and may not be able to travel home or would otherwise have to make long commutes. Local accommodation helps maintain the health and well-being of these crucial personnel at this critical time.
This will be for a two-month period, and then reconsidered in light of circumstances at the time. NHS staff will be those working in hospitals in the North-West London region, but that may extend to hospitals in other districts.
The number of rooms utilised will depend on demand but potentially all the rooms in the Millennium Hotel could be given over for this purpose. No staff showing symptoms will use the hotel.
Millennium Hotels and Resorts, who manage the hotel, are supportive and assisting the club in providing this service to the NHS.”
Nice touch by Roman.
March 18, 2020 at 10:07 pm #1835799‘I’m happy to say that in Callum’s case, he has made great progress and almost feels his usual self, which is the news we all want to hear,’
‘I am of course aware that not everyone can or will recover from this virus, so I urge all of the football and sporting community to continue to act responsibly and look out for the health of others. ‘I want to make it clear that I am no medical expert when it comes to challenging times such as these but please do take the time to call older relatives and vulnerable people who might be alone, or offer to drop round shopping if they can’t get out. Let’s make sure we all take care of each other.
‘Social distancing can leave us feeling isolated, however, we can continue to support each other even if that means doing it remotely. ‘Of course, we still don’t know when competitive football will restart, but it isn’t worth worrying about that too much at the moment. ‘We all miss football, but right now it’s about acting responsibly and in the best interests of society. I am sure I wasn’t the only one who found myself in a strange place with no sport this weekend, but ultimately none of that matters when we consider the bigger picture.’
Frank LampardMarch 19, 2020 at 8:23 am #1835811I suspect you intended to post this elsewhere Chelseaman as it’s got little to do with Roman.😊
March 19, 2020 at 1:57 pm #1835896999, yes a great gesture by Roman. At least I know my room in the hotel that I had booked is going to good use. We had flights to come over from Oz and tickets for the last game against Wolves. Had a two night stay also booked in the hotel, tickets to the theatre on Saturday night, and a holiday in Europe. All lost now in the world chaos. Talk about bad timing.
March 21, 2020 at 4:21 pm #1836206Chris, sorry to hear that buddie. We’ve cancelled our holiday to Spain in June too. I would stay away from any travel to the UK,Europe or anywhere else currently Chris until this passes. Stay safe both you and yours. Cheers 9’s
March 22, 2020 at 12:10 am #1836233Thanks 999. Take care too.
All, take heed of the advice – Keep, a good distance from other people, avoid going to public places, wipe down trolleys, and petrol pumps etc, and thoroughly wash your hands with soap every time you touch such items. Finally keep your hands away from your nose, eyes and mouthRemember the virus is an invisible enemy that is going nowhere, if you don’t spread it
Good governments will lead by example. The problems are going to be with weak governments.
Here in Australia we have a weak government. One that contradicts. Saying kids must go to school or the virus will spread more and key workers won’t be able to go to work. Now they are banning kids from hospitals, in case the kids spread it into a hospital. They say nothing about How kids will go to school, spread the virus round the whole school, and then take the virus home to every house where the parents are distancing themselves by working from home, when kids come home from school. As for the teachers, especially the elderly teachers, and the parents of the younger teachers that still live at home with their parents, they are putting those people at serious risk.
March 27, 2020 at 5:24 pm #1837331Least u have a govt in Ozzie Chris. In SA we have a fooken banana republic. Just wondering how those leaders plan to curtail social distancing and lockdown in the townships 🙈🙈
Anyway stay safe ppl. Missing my bladdy sport I tell u, I’m sure the rest of u are as well. As for Roman I’m sure he’ll return as soon as this virus buggers off and Bojo gives him the necessary visa.
March 28, 2020 at 1:29 pm #1837438Stuilse, having just watched a televised report from SA I fear the worst for S.A. people in the townships are refusing to self isolate and the virus will spread like wild fire under those circumstances.
March 29, 2020 at 10:38 pm #1837594Any news? Besides the usual rumours?
April 8, 2020 at 10:52 am #1839420Yeah our friend is back bleating about Willian again on the Winter and Summer Transfers Window 2020 thread. At least it makes him happy I guess.
