Jurgen Klopp has seen his odds on getting the sack at Liverpool tumble from 100/1 to just 16/1 in just five days.

That would be a crazy decision if the board were to even consider this…

I don’t know, it does seem madness but it’s a results game and the results aren’t coming. Both Klopp and the board have to take the flak for this as they seemed to put all their eggs in one Virgil van Dijk shaped basket and when that came up empty they were screwed. At least at Utd, Mourinho gave Woodward alternatives but that doesn’t SEEM to have been the case at Anfield. the defence has been woefully lacking, not just this season, but last season as well and it’s costing Liverpool points. John Henry won’t be shy in cutting the apron strings if Liverpool find themselves falling down the table.

Can’t see it, firstly who is available as a replacement? secondly let’s just look at the facts, a draw away at Watford, not great but we played well, two disappointing draws against Burnley and Saville where we dominated and those results were more to do with the attack not taking their chances than the defence, should have scored 5+ in both, bad loss to City after a red card.

Even after this disappointing start we are 2 behind Chelsea, level with Spurs and ahead of Arsenal, but more importantly playing well just not putting the ball away.

Ridiculous. I remember after Chelsea lost their opener at home to Burnley ending the game with 9 men the media made Conte favourite for the seasons first PL manager casualty. Laughable really. This is just as bad. However should LFC slide down the table and bomb out the CL group stage, questions should then be asked. They need to strengthen defensively in January and he needs to be given the funds and opportunity to do so.

It is madness at this stage and the lack of a viable replacement might save him in the medium term, however there is a glaring deficiency in defence that hasn’t been addressed. A top four finish is the minimum expected now given that’s where Liverpool finished last season. If he doesn’t finish there or doesn’t look like he’s going to finish there then he might find his days are numbered in Anfield.
De Boer is now free and although he hasn’t succeeded at Inter or Palace I don’t think the style of football he likes to play would be a stretch for the Liverpool squad. He would be a very viable alternative if the chips were down.

Is it weird that I’m envious of a club where the manager’s job is in danger?

Al – Don’t worry, the managers job is not in danger, at the moment.
