Has Sarri lost his mind?,if he wants to tell Hazard that the player needs to do more why not tell him behind closed doors away from the gaze of the media?.Sarri leading with his chin and must be on borrowed time trying to inveigaling a players revolt…Sarri absolute flaming daft imo!
January 24, 2019 at 7:11 am #1719497It’s like Conte all over again except this time it is Hazard instead of Costa. Wait for the sms.
January 24, 2019 at 8:02 am #1719511Actually I do not see this in such a negative way as the media are trying to sell it, however, I would agree that making some of these comments in public may not be the wisest move
The players were crap against Arsenal let themselves, the fans, the manager and the board down when we could and should have created a lot of daylight between us in the league. So I would argue the sentiments are correct but should they have been kept behind closed doors…?
As for the latest on Hazard I agree that I have never seen him as captain material and feel that Belgium just give it to him to keep him happy, which some on here also supported if it would keep Hazard at Chelsea. However, and as Sarri made abundantly clear he is a great player who can turn a game at the drop of a hat. Hazard said himself that he has frustrated all managers as he is not consistent enough and does not score enough goals. Sarri says that Hazard is capable of doing more to move to the next level
Again, for me anyway, the sentiment is accurate and by and large in line with what the player himself has admitted. Should it be said in public – that is the big question. The media want to make out that Sarri is having a direct pop at Hazard and therefore unsettling him. Hazard is such an easy going lad that I do not think it would impact him at all and I would fully expect that is exactly what Sarri has said many times to him behind the closed doors
Personally, I don’t think we need to react to the press interpretation in the way that they want us to…? KTBFFH
January 24, 2019 at 2:07 pm #1719682Great summary 1905.
January 24, 2019 at 2:16 pm #1719689Ditto. 1905 nailed it.
I was initially shocked that Sarri decided on a public flogging, but I’ve since reduced my ‘oh no that was a bad move’ perspective to a ‘that was a risky, but nevertheless bold move’.
I don’t think anyone disagrees that our team were sh*te vs the Gooners. Time will tell if Sarri was brave or stupid to have gone public with his frustration rather than throwing a few tea cups in private.
January 24, 2019 at 2:50 pm #1719698Sometimes players need a rocket up their arse publicly. Sarri’s stance is a show against so called “player power” and i hope other managers follow suit. Glad Poch indirectly agreed.
If a manager is angry because the players didn’t follow his plan, he has every right to express it in the media as it shows how much he cares. He didn’t pin point anyone individually.
January 24, 2019 at 3:14 pm #1719700Im hoping it gets him fired.
Don’t like his football and doesn’t fit the club. I predicted 6th place finish at the beginning of the season(see link below) and I stick by it we are falling fast.
January 24, 2019 at 3:23 pm #1719704Given the Boards backing for Sarri with the Higuain signing that currently looks a bit of a forlorn hope bort.
My prediction seems to be running quite close.
Let’s just hope we can make the top 4 or win the EL we need to get back to playing in the CL if for no other reason than to attract the best available players in the Summer.
January 24, 2019 at 3:29 pm #1719706So this was the point in which it started to all fall apart last season. Getting knocked out the cup by Arsenal and then going on to lose/draw several league games that destroyed our top 4 chances. Worryingly Man United are charging up the table and Arsenal having just destroyed us and having the fire power will be hard to hold back unless Chelsea start scoring goals again, meaning we need to score more than 1 goal per game average which is the current state of things at the moment.
Chelseas goals scoring hasnt been sustainable for months now im surprised we have been able to pick up so many points with such lack of goals. We can thank our defence for being superb in this period of time.
January 24, 2019 at 10:33 pm #1719809Is this the same Mtal who has condemned me when I questioned Mourinho for using media to castigate players? I have to fact check this post twice every time I read it. Sarri didn’t use media to castigate players. he was asked some question. and he responded. I hope we support the Chelsea boss. isn’t that what I was told whenever I question a Chelsea boss? so prepare to do the thankless job that I have been doing since 2013. this time I’m in Sarri’s ship. prepare to receive some rough treatment also. whether you can handle that or not is another matter. but you will get it easy no worries mate. but let us remember the advice you used to give me. always support the Chelsea boss.
January 25, 2019 at 7:15 am #1719836Bort… To be fair the team have been playing well.. IE controlling games for large parts and reducing the opportunities for the opposition. We were free flowing, then it seems Srarri doubled down on the defensive side of his formation.
We would have scored far more had Led legs and Morata shown a pair and stuck the ball in the net. That might change.
But i’ll ask again, you dislike Sarri, who do you want to replace him.
January 25, 2019 at 8:06 am #1719857Have to say that apart from Spurs away and Arsenal away Chelsea dominate most games but we do not convert the chances. In some games that has made us nervy and try too hard (if that is even possible) and in the end we have dropped needless points
The striker situation has been clearly addressed now and whether it works out or not is to be seen but when you see Giroud miss 2 excellent chances last night (the 2nd one would have been a wonder goal as he did so well to hold the ball up and then Emerson was excellent down the wing and the cross…) can Higuain be any worse? Everything indicates he ids a great goal scorer who still scored at Milan but simply not at the level he did at Napoli or Juve
Of course the EPL is a different kind of game and maybe he will need time to adapt but if we play like we did last night then I an extremely hopeful that we will start to convert the chances in which case Spurs better start looking over their shoulders…!! KTBFFH
January 25, 2019 at 8:26 am #1719864replace Sarri not now first give him the opportunity to see what can happen, not too confident myself, suppose we can always rope in Henry
January 25, 2019 at 10:25 am #1719913Blaze – we will never be that bad or that desperate….!!> KTBFFH
January 25, 2019 at 10:38 am #1719921Cesc must be gutted about Henry.
January 25, 2019 at 12:46 pm #1719972Bort i have a question for you.
What is a successful season for Chelsea this season?
February 1, 2019 at 7:07 am #1722483Sarri at it again belly-aching to the media that players not listening to him.We need to keep the media out of our dressroom because all they do is inveigal trouble stir the shit and portray the club as a laughing stock for their own ends when it goes boobs up with dis-content between manager and players.Sarri thinks the media are helping him but in truth the media are doing anything but help. Some on here thought it was good idea Sarri using the media to gee the players up and praise them…don’t fooled!,the media ain’t happy about anything good coming out of Chelsea, they really couldn’t give a flying frig about anything good but give them a snippet of anything unsavoury happening in the cluband it’s like a feeding frenzy to them!.Most on here couldn’t see the damage Sarri was doing when he had his claws into Hazard and the rest of players when he was castigate them for not playing to the script.FFS SARRI TELL THE MEDIA JACK ALL…YOU FLAMING OAF!!!
February 1, 2019 at 7:52 am #1722494I have no idea how Sarri acted in Italy and whether he did the same kind of thing or not but must admit that it looks to me as though he is doing more of a Jose than anything else
Personally I think this type of thing should be kept in house and sorted behind closed doors. Even Dave coming out and discussing what happened when Sarri kept them in is not necessary apart from trying to show the fans that everyone at the Club was disappointed and want to rectify it
All very well and good but in the end it is the actions on the pitch that speak volumes rather than saying something just to placate the fans. Have to say that my impression is that Sarri is beginning to doubt himself in this league and has few ideas as to why are performances are so inconsistent…? KTBFFH
February 1, 2019 at 9:09 am #1722524According to the Times whilst Sarri will be given time the Club are unhappy with his public criticism of players?
February 1, 2019 at 9:17 am #1722530apparently didnt get the bus home with the team from Bouremout?
