If City lose Silva then we should walk the league!

City were ahead of us last season, for most of the season… They might have lost Sterling and Jesus but we also lost Mane, Origi and Minamino…

They are still ahead of us and we are playing catch up, the only way i see us ahead of them is if they lose another influential player.

Silva has been one of their best performers for a few years now, one of the finest midfielders im the league…

Rob is right, we are a bit short in midfield, we are waiting for Bellingham… We need further investment to get ahead of City in the league… The one thing that can derail their season is an injury to Haaland as they have both lost Sterling and Jesus…

I got our point tally right last season and i foresaw City edging us to the title… Im gonna wait until the window closes until I give my prediction for the season… the one thing im certain of us that Salah os about to have one of his best seasons for us, he is aiming for the ballon and he got everything he needs right here at the club, Bobby should also be like a new signing like the lads are claiming him to be, he is fit and ready to go, I can see him scoring 15-20 goals in total, he always does well in Europe and will be wanting to prove that he deserves a raise… I hope the club will hand him a new contract soon as he can play for another 3-5 years

Bobby is meant to be on 190k/week. That could be nonsense but if it’s true, that’s insane money for a squad player. He doesn’t deserve a raise as things stand and should in fact sign a much reduced extension. Of course, he has this season to show that he’s worth X amount but he’d have to play out of his mind good and we’d likely have to adopt a 4231 because besides maybe Fuham tomorrow and a few others as Nunez settles, Firmino won’t be starting….
I have already said that I’d start Nunez in a 433. We didnt pay 85m for him to be on the bench behind Firmino or Jota.

As I spoke about before also, I have put Nunez in my FPL team, even though almost no FPL “pros” have him. There are good reasons but I’d still say that he most likely starts tomorrow, even if he doesn’t, I can see him scoring when he come son. I believe that much in this lad. I won’t sit here saying “my instincts are never wrong” because my god, they have been before but… my instincts are very veryu strong on this guy being great once he settles.

I’m predicting him to be consider essential soon in the FPL. That means he’ll be banging them fecking in for us.

… but enough of that bollox.

Bingo, Haaland does get injured a lot but they also signed that south American fella. He seems to be a PROPER player too, so don’t get too excited.

If Firmino is on 190 then its money well spent.
City couldnt really get better then theyve been the last few seasons. Theyve made some big personnel changes. They may regret moving Sterling on. Haaland is an upgrade on Jesus but its yet to be seen if he can adapt his game to suit Guardiolas style and the premier league.
City have to start every season as favourites but I think we remain the more settled team and can hit the ground running.
I think the years of teams getting over 90 points is about to change. I think in the months it takes for citys new players to settle other teams will take points off them.
I think the interuption of the world cup will upset other teams more than us.
So I think we will win the league and Salah will take the golden boot.
I’d be more confident if we’d upgraded our midfield with someone less injury prone or if Jones was looking at all like a player, but he will get his chance this season and Elliott could nail down a spot.

Although he definitely earned that contract offer, I don’t think it’s been “money well spent”, these last 2 seasons or so. This isn’t PSG, or Man City. If there is a player who spends more time on the bench whilst being one of the highest paid, well look where Mane went to get paid closer to what he’s actually worth.

It’s difficult to write this out and not come across as anti-Firmino (which some would love). Firmino spent several seasons as my actual favourite player. If FFP or whatever they bring out after it wasn’t a thing, and were FSG not fiscally responsible etc etc I wouldn’t give a damn.

I see Firmino having to play out of his skin this season though, in order to get a new contract even approaching that, from us. He starts today though and given everything that is happening at the club (reasons we’ve already spoken of) he might get a chance to really perform.

I will admit to being disappointment that we havent started Nunez though but that’s for entirely different reasons.

Hope Bobby gets a brace today. It’s not at Anfield, so he’s got a chance!

Agreed regards City and also the same about the 90 points thing. There are a lot of projects that are a year further along now, and Utd might actually get back on track this season too. There are a lot of points to be dropped, or so it seems anyway.

That other lad that City signed (Alvarez) has gone totally under the radar. I was tempted to put him on my bench in FPL but he’s unfortunately too expensive for that. I think he’ll get minutes and goals though. It might take him a bit but I’ve a feeling they might not miss Sterling as much as we hope. Mind you, Grealish will have to really up his game to fit in there. He made a mistake by going there.

Firstly I do not smoke! I hate smoking….
Secondly I said indide 4 which means 2nd place but with so many injuroes it will be very difficult…
Unfortunately I see the truth….somenthing which many do not….
Remember those who were laughing when I mentioned that we need another midfielder
now they have are hidden in their caves…

Very few have said we don’t need a midfielder. I think many have accepted the situation in one way or another… Also, don’t get upset, it wasn’t a serious comment.

I will say that I’m downgrading my own prediction. I’m still gonna say we’ll win the title but with injuries already stacking, I think it’s now likely that injuries will cost us quite a few points.

Indeed Mak, majority have said we need a mid so no clue why Pinez is taking the all exclusive, it was only me stand. There’s reams of threads out there with most of us preferring we’d get another (more durable and dynamic) mid.

Must be strong stuff in that roll-up of his.

Rob: I’m not confident that any midfielder we sign will not become injury prone once joining us. We don’t have a good record in keeping our midfielders free from injury in the Klopp era apart from Gini.
