Tommy a cockney is someone from East London or Essex.

I am from South London so please stop referring to me as a cockney.

    Happy

behave yourself mate of course Vidic had bad games but I can count them on one hand. Out of the 300 games chris has played for us he has had probably 150 bad games.

The problem lies with the scoutingstaff. Buy the right players from the start and hopefully they are young players coming in and appoint a proper manager who can nurture and develop players. Shouldnt be too much to ask for.
Why can clubs like Porto,Dortmund and clubs from France and Italy find gems and we not? Unbelievable!

Zico .. how long have the scouts been at those clubs. I’d bet their scouts are people with close connection to the club who see their job as a lifelong one, a vocation. That’s how it used to be with clubs like United. Today it seems when a new manager comes he replaces the scouts with his cronies and when he leaves the next manager does the same.

What’s the value in scouting some player who by the time he becomes a star you’re long gone. Better to “scout” a Pogba or do your mate a favour and “scout” a player he’s trying to sell.

@happyhurling …… yes he might, and he might not. It’s a matter of probability.

I see it like the stock market. If you bought shares in a highly rated young company after 18 months the performance was still sluggish would you sell the shares and take a loss or do you hold onto them in the hope the company will “come good” some day knowing that if it doesn’t you lose even more. Personally, I’d sell up but knowing you, you’d double down and buy more shares and when the company goes tits up welch on the payment to your broker !!!

In my view, when you have a young player who has the “star gene” it becomes very evident early on. Yes there excepions but there’s a reason they are called exceptions.

Remind me of a defender who hasn’t got a mistake in him. I remember the great Craig Bellamy rinsing Ferdinand not once, but twice in that 4-3 derby win. Oh, and the own goal at Portsmouth springs to mind as well. Then there was the great Vidic versus Fernando Torres calamity. Remember Gary Neville having a nightmare against Robbie Fowler too. Yep, they all make mistakes. But it’s become fashionable to pan some but not the so called legends.

That was the match I first started to think Ferdinand’s goose might be cooked.

Ika, I don’t give two shits about the jellied eels or bow bells. To we Mancunians if you’re from London you’re a cockney. And you are a whiney cockney pip squeak.

Mac – Or maybe just watch the investment for a while longer before making such a snap decision? You don’t normally invest in the market at all so i’m happy that you are least willing to keep you money tied up in Lindelof for the time being!

I think Jose was spot on about all the players he spoke about yesterday, absolutely spot on. With Lindelof he said he reads the game well, is fast and can pass. But he’s not physical and needs to be more aggressive. If he can start to add that to his game then maybe we’ll have a decent defender there. And if all of these players start to improve then who knows what the team could end up like. Maybe getting a bit ahead of myself but Shaw, Martial, Lindelof all showing promising signs. Fred was good yesterday too, but it’s too early to say he’s in any kind of form.
Ashley Young seems to be in great form, can’t see Dalot or Valencia displacing him any time soon.
Mata has come into the team and seems to be making the forward line tick a bit better. I much prefer this 4-2-3-1 formation that splits as a 3-5-2 with Matic occupying the 3rd CB spot.
But as Jose said he’d like us to be a lot better. We struggle to score goals and we almost never keep clean sheet, but we’re improving. I’d be amazed if we don’t add a player or 2 in January.
I wonder what the club goals for this season are now…?

Keep calling me names Tommy and we can meet up and settle this like men cos actions speak louder than words.

So no more name calling just say when and where big man.

Too many ifs followed by too mani maybes,,,speculations.
Ashley Young is not a defender,he was the last man when he switched off and waved to the referee for a offside letting the opponent free on goal.
On top of that he always play with a red card waiting to happens.
Shaw once again proved he is not a proper defender,Lindelof saved his ass for the umpteen time. Besides, when did Shaw delivered a decent cross,i cant remember. There are better LB out there for a quarter of Shaws salary. Benficas Grimaldo and Dortmunds LB.
Mata? He is not a United material, not as a right winger or as number 10.
Once a great player yes but not now.

Oh hello ten men ika is in. I just think you sound like a little girl with your moaning, I’m not claiming to be a hard man. Have a look at Blacky and jm1502’s complaining…there’s strength and substance to it.

I would happily tell you that face to face with no problem at all as I do when I come across any pissy little moaning minnies at the match. Which funnily enough, isn’t as often as you do on the internet.

    You cockney pip squeak.

@happyhurling …… As others have pointed out, it’s all ifs and maybes. Let’s be honest, you’d never move any player on until it’s well and truly obvious he’s shite. It’s only just now you’re reluctantly conceding that maybe Rojo & Darmian need to be moved on. If you were manager we’d still have Rooney, Carrick, Welbeck, Blind etc. (and probably Giggs).

The problem with the “more time” view is the longer the time we give all these players the longer it is until we become a title winning team again. Its 6 years since SAF retirement and we’re no closer to winning the title than the day after he left. (and you call that progress). AND in keeping somebody who is unlikely to make the grade we block the path for homegrown or bargain buy prospects to get a chance.

As regards Lindelof, my view is I would move on almost all the team if we got a respectable offer for them. In Lindelof case, had Everton offered 30m I would have bitten their hand off. Problem is most of our deadwood is unsellable so that means whilst players like Lindelof are not top of my exit list they are easier to move on and therefore should be, if an offer comes.

@happyhurling .. You keep trying to sell the myth that I never make predictions.

1] I was one of the few who predicted doom when you were talking good to go.
2] I also predicted we would never win the title until all of Fergie’s player (bar DDG) had been moved on. And 6 years later that looks like become a reality.
3] Last season, I disputed that we were “heading in the right direction” (ie progress) and now seem to have been proved right.
4] True I have not tipped any player for stardom, whereas you have tipped virtually every player for stardom. Now it seems I was right not to predict stardom.
5] I cautioned against the signings of oldies (based on age) and, aside from 1 season from RvP, none of RvP, Sanchez, Matic, Schweinsteiger, Ibra can be considered good signings.
6] I predicted DDG will go and we’re waiting on that one.
7] I predicted that the Philosopher was a conman. [ I predicted LvG would not be sacked, so don’t always get it right]
8] I agreed with those sayting Rooney was past it (whilst you were making bedwetting bets)
9] I predicted the Glazers would be bad for the club, whilst many talked of how they would invest fortunes in the team.
10] I predicted Smalling Jones would never be Rio Vidic replacements. You did.

And here are some new predictions ……

11] Pogba Martial will both leave.
12] Jose will go end of season with Zidane replacing him and we’ll be back to where we started with Jose talking of clear outs, rebuilding and being a work in progress.
13] We will become a rich Arsenal, never the bride always the bridesmaid. This will continue until the Glazers sell (which they will).

That should make you reach for the gin bottle !!
