I wonder what odds you’d have been given for that scoreline? The stats make interesting reading 29% of the play, 8 shots compared to Hammers 23 BUT 6 on target compared to their 5 and of course 4 going in to their two!! I’ll be watching MOTD tonight to see if they do the foul for their penalty in slomo cause my thoughts were that Galloway just knicked the ball before he got Payet. Chadli produced what we wanted from him, two goals and two assists. He looks happier and more effective in the middle just behind Rondon although he does drift in and out a bit. Once again Galloway got the run around by a quicker player. He either needs some sprint training or better positional sense cause he’s the weak link in the defence atm. Nayom looks typical TP material and wasn’t too bad despite having to play out of position (might have to get used to it). For once I don’t think anyone had a bad game although there were one or two misplaced passes in the period after their second goal. Next two away games could be interesting.

I am left feeling nervous. The good news is that we had 11 interested players on the pitch, not 10 plus SB, and we did not need to summon Gardner from the bench. The bad news is that was really a 2-2 draw plus a couple of freebies courtesy of signings by West Ham of the sort we don’t make. Nice to see goals from open play, but a position 8th in the table flatters us enormously. I agree with Northwich on Galloway getting the ball first.

WBA68 as you say it was someone’s birthday. Had our defence been like theirs and vice versa I dread to think what the score might have been. The bit that worries me is the 29% possession. We should be looking at 60% possession at home against all but the ‘big boys’.

For once TP was correct in his analysis. He basically said it was the same old tactics, but instead of missing our chances we took them. He’s right of course and if the Hammers hadn’t been so generous, we might’ve lost again. Good to see SB dropped and Chadli looks very useful. Well 3 points is 3 points, but if TP stays I think these sort of performances will continue and we’ll mostly struggle, occasionally getting lucky. Not looking forward to playing some of the big boys though. If the Hammers can have over 70% possession, what will it be against Man City ??
