Up to a while back I was convinced we need to blow our budget on strikers, but I am not so sure about that anymore. We currently have 3 strikers, hopefully all fit for next season, but should we keep hold of Zaha, that is effectively 4 strikers, I’d like to add just one more…Mariano Diaz, surplus to requirements at Real Madrid, and something different from a target man and Zaha…

My gut tells me focus on the flanks and midfield plus a goalkeeper…. We need good wingers so we have options for Zaha to have a free reign up top, we need balls in the box for our target men, we need to be able to cope with injuries…

I think we also need a back up incase Luka gets injured, and we need to replace RLC if he’s not going to return.

I suppose we still need to look at defence, Ward is out of contract, DElaney has left, Scott Dann is still out of action… Hopefully the Polish lad will come through for centre back or holding midfield… but I think another right back and centre back would be a good move.

The keeper situation is a no brainer, we need at the very least a decent number 1, I’d rather WH was sold, not sure if the short term guy or Speroni will make 2nd and third choice or one of them third choice and we need a new second choice keeper

I’d like us to keep Sako, he again gives us striking and flank options, and that is good for us, we have attacking players that allow for options.

One of the things with Benteke this year was partly his form, but also when we throw on a target man we need other options and often when Benteke was thrown on he ws the only focal point for attack and that made us far too easy to defend against.

Now for the pain of the wait till 18th August… But will be back with my comments on every transfer deal… have a great holiday guys, but remember to keep posting
